How to improve? We have 3 wooden rocking chairs and 3 Adirondack chairs on the screen porch facing the lake. Granted, there are no La-z-Boy recliners at camp. Yes, it bit rustic, a bit austere, yet pretty typical of a lakeshore fishing cabin that’s well over 150 years old. Ok, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Maybe add chair cushions?!
A step back in time staying at “camp” on the big lake - just as we did in the early 60’s. We hiked all day, watched sunsets in the evening, ate dinner then fell into bed, exhausted from our activities!
We had a great stay at the Sleeper Camp. When we arrived - everything was as described, and Harry provided a detailed email up-front with directions and instructions. The camp is in a great location, while also secluded. We enjoyed nights by the wood stove playing Yahtzee and enjoying the view. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
Had a wonderful fall visit at the Sleeper camp. This camp has everything you will need. A jem of a location - a really special spot to share with family. The owner and property manager are very responsive.
I was looking for a classic lake camp and this was it! Everything was perfect from the views to the kitchenware. My 90 year old parents were able to stay on the first floor which includes a delightful screened in porch. Even inside the camp the views of the lake were incredible. Do not miss the Wright WWII museum in Wolfeboro and a tour of the lake on the M/S Mt Washington! We will be back.
Nice camp, great views from screened in porch! Restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook but everything at the camp, pots, pans, plates, utensils, and over 20 spices in spice rack to cook your own meals. Gas grill had full charge and worked great on steaks and salmon. Canoeing was great with a rowboat also available. Property manager came by a few times to check on us to see if we needed anything and was easy to reach by phone to answer any questions. We were here two weeks and there is no washer/dryer but laundry mat just 10 minutes up the road.
Was a very relaxing experience and would definitely come here again for vacation.

Exactly what we wanted, Privacy right on the Lake
The listing is accurate, but really does not describe the level of privacy and beauty of the cottages location. I couldn't have asked for a better location on the lake. The waterfront porch is perfect in its simplicity with wooden adirondack chairs and nothing but view. Upstairs bedroom also boasts the same amazing view and you don't even have to strain your head when in bed to see. Upstairs is fairly updated but still containing its old world charm. Downstairs bedroom/kitchen/living/eating area is old and simple, but very functional. Honestly I loved it. While we do love to have a grand kitchen at times, this is an original cottage and we knew that going it.
Large porch and table on back of house. We actually used for a few of our big dinners. Cottage is surrounded by tall pines and has a very wooded feeling. While staying here, we saw some deer, heard the loons almost every night, and caught a lot of fish! Can't wait to come back.

Just Perfect
To say that the pictures don't do this place justice is an understatement, and these are really good pictures. It's hard to describe how perfect the camp is, I's secluded, it's gorgeous, it's perfect. A group of my friends came up for the long weekend, and we are looking forward to a time when we can go back either together or with our respective families. The house it's self is comfortable, clean and has a feeling of home. This is a place that is cared for deeply by the owner, it is a family's escape, there are small notions around the house that speak to you of generations past. this place is loved. The grounds are lovely, and yes it is as close to the water as it looks. You are close enough to the Weirs beach are that it feels right around the corner but still far enough that you don't feel the busyness of a tourist community. We took day trips to the funspot arcade, we climbed Mt. Major (which you should do, the view is amazing). We swam; we did a puzzle; we grilled meat… it was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time and it was made only better by the setting that it all took place in. I am forever grateful that we found this place and were allowed to experience it.

Relaxing, Peaceful and Fun!
Idyllic location and vibe. This cottage had all the character and comfort that was promised. Super clean with plenty of room and a great layout. Pristine views of the lake and great access to the crystal clear water. We all thoroughly enjoyed the fishing, swimming and boating but my favorite moments were spent in the Adirondack chairs on the porch reading a book or just gazing out at the lake. I will be back for sure!!
