A cozy home with lots of character

This home was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and was provided with a plenty of pillows. We had 4 people in our group and never ran out of hot water for showers. The house is cute with lots of character, nice appliances and updated fixtures. I would definately reccomend this home to anyone staying in the area. The host was super nice and responded to all correspondence immediately. Overall an excellent stay.

Eclipse 2024

This property was perfect for us. We booked the house for our family (2 parents and 2 teens/young adults) to stay during the 2024 solar eclipse. It was comfortable and quiet. As other reviewers have mentioned, the neighborhood is not “upscale,” but at no time did we ever feel unsafe. It was clear a lot of thought had been put into the decor. The common area is small but that wasn’t an issue for us this time. Very convenient to the freeway and extremely close to tourist attractions such as the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The nearest grocery store, the H-E-B on S Flores, is actually a mini-location and it has a limited inventory. We got everything we needed there, but just fyi in case you’re expecting a full supermarket.

The price-point and lack of additional fees was very attractive when we were booking. And the owner was VERY responsive both leading up to our trip and while we were there. The beds, bedding, bathroom, and kitchen were freshly clean. However, we needed to rewash all the dishes we used prior to use because several were clearly still dirty. Areas that don't get used much (corners, under dressers, window sills, fan blades, curtains, etc) had obviously not been cleaned in a while. The backyard was a huge disappointment. We were looking forward to spending time out there for meals and utilizing the fire pit from the listing. However, the picnic table and outdoor furniture were filthy (definitely needed more than a simple cleaning) and there was no fire pit at all. We were traveling as a family and we were really bothered by the random statue in the living room of a man with a sword standing on his impaled, naked victim (clearly this is a personal preference but also wasn't included in the listing). During our stay, we reached out to the owners to adjust the hot water as the shower + kitchen sink were lukewarm. They quickly responded and checked the hot water heater but the temp of the water never changed unfortunately. We also reached out because we couldn't get the oven to turn off. Again they answered immediately and stated they were aware of the issue and we could simply unplug it to turn it off.

Great house

The location is a little further from Lackland Airforce Base than I expected but the house was welcoming and clean. Definitely the nicest house on the street. It was a fairly quiet area and I felt safe. We would stay there again.
