About this property

GreenLeaf | Close to UVA and Downtown, Sleeps 7 with Yard!

This charming 1940s home embodies the essence of Virginia, adorned in classical furnishings and located in the desirable Rugby neighborhood close to the University of Virginia. Comfort and style are the core of GreenLeaf, which features a fireplace and lovely backyard, located less than 2 miles to UVA, Barracks, and downtown Charlottesville. The home's flexible design with three queen beds and a separate twin annex is perfect for families, alumni, and wedding guests.

The front door opens to reveal original parquet wood floors and a welcoming foyer. To the right is the updated kitchen that has everything one needs to prepare a full meal plus a designated wine refrigerator and bar seating. The dining table has space for 4 plus two soul-warming club chairs that you could read a whole book in. In the living room, you'll find plenty of seating and a large smart TV. The primary Queen bedroom is located on the main level as is the main full bath of the home - note the main bath is a bit narrow due to the older design of the home. Upstairs features a second private bedroom with a Queen bed, plus an open loft with a cozy third Queen bed and a couch.

Outside the living room, the large bricked patio and backyard are perfect for gathering. The outdoor space features a gas grill, dining table, umbrella, and grassy area. Just off the patio is the detached annex with a twin bed and a second small bathroom with a shower. Parking is available in the driveway with room for 3 vehicles. Greenleaf Park is just around the corner, perfect for some extra space to play.

The kitchen was fine. There could have been more kitchen items like a full baking sheet.

Mom weekend trip

This was the best house to relax and unwind with a group of friends! We immediately fell in love with the coziness of the house. The location is great and was easy to get to. Would 10/10 recommend!

We absolutely loved the house. There were three sisters staying. Cooked fantastic meals in that kitchen, enjoyed the “out house“. We couldn’t have found a better spot. At a true gem

Easter with our daughter

Excellent! The yard crew came on Saturday and made a beautiful difference. The home was beautifully decorated and the owners did a lovely job of renovating. Cute neighborhood.

Perfect girls weekend

Three moms looking to get away for a weekend and enjoy uninterrupted conversations and tons of laughter. House was adorable and we will be dreaming of the patio for some time to come. Perfect walking distance to mall area and morning breakfast locations. Quiet and cozy...just what we needed.

Family outing

Great house for a (too) short family weekend in Charlottesville. Location is excellent for events at UVA, a day at the pedestrian mall or a visit to Monticello. Would definitely recommend.

Quaint Older House

Stayed with another couple for two nights. Cleanliness and communication was excellent. The main floor bedroom was excellent. The other queen beds are upstairs without a bathroom which we missed when we booked. A second bath is on a bungalow in the back, requiring going outside to visit. Location was excellent.

Family Weekend visiting Nana

Lovely weekend in Charlottesville. The location was great- close to our family, UVA, and all the things we wanted to do and see. The photos are a bit outdated- where there are no arm hairs in the living room and the dining table was a bit more hodge podge. One thing to note is that although the listing says 3 bedrooms (which includes a small twin bed studio with separate bathroom), the attic space has a bed in it. I would consider that a bedroom- since there are 3 queen beds in the main house! Perfect for our family! I found it odd that there was a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels and dish washer soap- all based on rooms. So for 6 people, we had 4 rolls of toilet paper for 5 nights…be warned and bring your own. The beds were comfortable but the comforters seemed a tad dirty/dusty. We used the gas grill, but there was no grilling tools and brush although the hosts said there were. The house is for sure older, with very narrow and steep stairs to the finished attic/top floor space. Because of its age- there is an age/mildew scenery inside, but after running the AC, it wasn’t as noticeable. Great kitchen but lacking in cooking/serving options- like platters and bowls. We only had two dish towels and needed to do laundry in order to keep up with drying dishes. 2 Coffee makers: 12 cup coffee are and a Keriug- note there are no coffee pods provided for the Keriug. The neighborhood is so charming and walkable if a morning walk is your thing!

Cozy home, a few glitches

House was comfortable and cozy, in a quiet, leafy neighborhood. Beds were super comfy, bedding was very nice. Well appointed kitchen and great outdoor dining area. A few glitches: 1. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. 2. There’s only one bathroom in the main house for three sleeping areas, which requires upstairs sleepers to descend a very steep staircase to use the bathroom. 3. The fourth single bed and second full bath are in the annex area, attached to the main house with a breezeway. Door to the annex was problematic from the start, requiring several calls and a visit from maintenance. On last morning, our friend called us to report she was locked in and we were all unable to open door. We finally pried open a window that had been painted shut and she climbed out. Management was responsive but we did lose some vacation time and mojo.

The house was perfect for a girls weekend! It was close proximity to everything we needed. We really enjoyed hanging out in the backyard in the evenings. Would definitely return if I am back in the Charlottesville area.
