My wife and I came to this quiet and beautiful cottage very weary and in need of rest. We enjoyed leisurely days of reading, cooking, walking, going into Holland etc. The view from our deck was worth the entire trip. We both believe in a personal God who loves and cares for each of us. We believe that every good and perfect gift comes from him. We have been absolutely blessed by his gift of creation, solitude, time together, and this delightful place of refreshment. Delightful Old School Beach House

Cute, cozy little house up on the ridge; easy walk down to the beach. We had a great time around Ottawa Beach and Holland. The house is pretty much what I’d expect an old beach house to be: not luxury, but perfect for a week near the water. The breeze up on top of the dune is lovely, and the views of the lake are quite nice, too.

The cottage was a beautiful small house on the top of a hill. The drive to the house was through a park with lots of mature trees and hiking trails off the main drive. We enjoyed going on hikes and playing in the sand by the beach. The cottage was a little dated but clean. The views and activities made our stay. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Getaway

The cottage was the perfect getaway for our small family. Perched up in the dunes above Lake Michigan, the cottage is a throwback to simple beach vacations. Late afternoon trips to the beach, reading while listening to the sounds of the lake, grilling out on the deck, evening walks for ice cream at the General Store. The cottage is comfortable and quiet with just enough technology to stay connected - if you want to. (Wifi is great).

Nice Cozy Cottage

The cottage description is accurate. One house from Lake Michigan with an easy walk to access the beach. Lots of stairs from where you park to the cottage deck and door. Small Peek-a-boo view of Lake Michigan from the deck. There is about a 3/4 mile drive through woods to the cottage so very private and peaceful! Cottage was clean and has everything you need ! Very close to lots of activities as well .

A great get-a-way.-quaint cottage with great view of Lake Michigan yet nestled up in the trees for a unique combination of forest and beach. The drive to get to the cottage, through a park with old growth trees, deer, chipmonks, etc, is very scenic. I would especially recommend this as a romantic get-away- privacy yet close to everything. The owners live nearby and are excellent hosts. The cottage has everything you need except your food and a need for relaxation. Sunny Morris

Retreat Getaway

Everything was exactly as pictured or described. It was perfect; quiet and secluded. The convenient access to the beach gave us opportunities to walk down anytime we wanted; morning, day and night. We found the items in the kitchenette just what we needed for cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner. Thank you for sharing this unique property! We would love to come back to relax at the cottage and beach again. It was a true blessing for us!

Comfortable Cottage

This cute little cottage was perfect for a long, restful weekend. We had great weather and especially enjoyed spending time on the nice, big deck. As the description says, there are a lot of steps to get to up the cottage from the parking area and also to get down to the beach/lake. But the workout is worth it for the views of the lake and access to a really nice stretch of beach. The cottage is in a secluded, wooded area, just a short drive to Holland. Cell service is a bit unreliable, but the wifi was perfect. We would love to come back!

Beautiful, simple stay!

We visited some friends in the area, and this was the perfect place to stay. It is very quiet, private, and relaxing. We loved it and have talked about coming back next summer. Things to note: no one was able to get cell service at the house. So keep that in mind if you are planning on working or make phone calls. There are also a lot of steps. So be prepared for that. And finally the beach and waves are amazing! The pictures didn't really prepare me for how amazing it was going to be! Thanks for the stay!

Lovely place

This was a perfect place for a relaxing mini-vacation. We really enjoyed the views of the lake and the proximity to the beach. The house was just lovely, and we spent a lot of time on the deck. There was great hiking nearby. The sunsets did not disappoint! Only frustration was that the rental manager had said in an email: "If you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact me anytime." I gave his number to my sister-in-law in case there were any problems getting to the house. When she got lost and called the manager's number, he rudely told her that he was not to be called for directions :/

Stunning Lake Virw

My dear college friends and I stayed at the property after not seeing each other since before COVID. We wanted a simple space as close to the Lake as possible with amazing views. This was perfect. Easy walks in the bordering forest, to the public beach, and to the cute retail area between Lake Macatowa and Lake Michigan. Cottage is spare and old school - which we appreciated. Lots of McMansion beach homes close by but the beautiful forested bluff-top property hid them from view. So much peace - just what we needed.

Newly remodeled in 2013 with new hardwood floors. Brand new tv with limited internet access (phone and internet access is limited all along lake michigan)

You cannot find a better setting in Holland and near by area on Lake Michigan for this price. View of water from everyone in the cottage. It gives you an absolute private setting with everything so near by. Quick walk to access water and State park one house away. Beautiful hiking trails right from the property. Too many things to list.

What makes this property unique

Private setting, views, access to everything near by.

We had a wonderful season that started with a couple celebrating their honeymoon and ended with a couple being engaged and a few anniversary celebrations in between.
