Summary:
Welcome to the Chestnut Bungalow.
This 1930s bungalow was completely renovated in 2022! Your family will be a close drive to everything when you stay at this centrally-located home in the Swannanoa Valley. 15 minutes to downtown Asheville and 9 minutes to Black Mountain. Close to the highway exit, grocery, gas, pharmacy, and restaurants in the Beacon Village area. Come stay the weekend or a few months!
The Space:
Step up onto the front porch, then enter into the main open concept living room with the kitchen towards the back. The front bedroom has a queen size bed. The middle bedroom hosts the twin over full bunk and the desk with a chair. The king size bed is towards the back of the home with its own full bathroom. The second full bathroom is off the kitchen. Also off the kitchen is the laundry room where you can exit into the back yard.
Guest Access:
Access to the whole house and yard. Gravel parking area in front of the house and free street parking.
The Neighborhood:
Beacon Village is an old historic neighborhood originally built for workers of the Beacon Blanket factory. This is a residential neighborhood, please be respectful to our neighbors. Buncombe County has quiet hours from 10 pm - 7 am. The streets are narrow and do allow free street parking, so please be careful while driving in the neighborhood.
Getting Around:
On the left side of our home is one shared parking space with the neighbor. Please be courteous and mindful when parking there. Otherwise the gravel parking area can fit about 3 vehicles. Street parking is free with enough space for 1-2 vehicles in front of the house. However, please try to limit the amount of vehicles during your stay. Please drive slowly, as the roads are narrow and other vehicles are typically parked on the road too.
Other Things to Note:
Please don’t go barefoot or roll around in the backyard. The Chestnut Bungalow is named for the large chestnut tree in back, covering most of the yard. In the fall it drops spiny burrs that are very sharp. We try to keep them picked up as best we can, but some are sure to be missed.
Interaction with Guests:
We do live close by, so please reach out if you need anything.
