4br/3ba in Historic District - walk to Main St

We are a family of three Fredericksburg natives and one Dallas "Auslander" (me). Marc grew up in Fredericksburg (4th generation) and we knew we wanted to raise our family here. After some time in Chicago and Dallas, we made Fredericksburg our permanent - and forever - home in 2005.

Marc and I have been married since 1995 and have two sons, Jake
and Luke, and two goofy labs, Maddox and Rowdy. We are graduates of Texas A&M (WHOOP! ) and have successfully brain-washed our boys to bleed maroon, too. Jake and his wife Lindsey are A&M Class of 2021 and Luke is Class of 2024. I am a REALTOR with Portfolio Real Estate - KW and Marc is a sales executive for a biotech company.

Some history about Maurine's Retreat... Marc's grandfather Guido Klett moved into this home in 1916 when he was 2 years old. He spoke only German until he was 8 years old (and said he dreamed in German for his entire life). He inherited the home from his father in 1940 and when he married Maurine in 1942 they made it their family home. Over the next 57 years, they raised 3 children in this home and made many wonderful memories with their grandkids and friends. It sat mostly vacant from 1999 until we purchased it from Guido's son (Marc's uncle) in 2022 and completed a total renovation in 2023. We will make this our permanent home someday, but in the meantime we offer it for visitors to enjoy!
