Take glamping to the next level! All the comforts of home with a up north camping vibe! Close to any activity from shopping to beaches, hiking, gambling, boating/fishing. Secure house and patio for the dog. Owners were super helpful! Hope to stay here again!
The cabin on Bass Lake is part of a hunting lodge built in the 1920s. That history lends wonderfully to the vibe of the stay. It was relaxing, the woods were beautiful, and the lake was lovely, surrounded by fall color. It’s wonderfully peaceful. The pillows, bed and bedding were marvelous, and that’s very important. We slept like logs. We made ourselves dinner one evening and had everything we needed. Then we watched a movie on the TV. It all worked well. We will stay here again!
We enjoyed our 10 day stay so much. Thanks Kathy and Mike for everything. The Texas cottage is decorated so beautifully and the lake views are amazing! It was a great break from the hot temperatures in Florida. Thanks for allowing us to bring our small dog. This cottage is so close to all our favorite places..... Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Art Galleries, Wineries, Lake Michigan, Suttons Bay, Fish Town, Orchards, etc. I could go on and on. We loved it!
The cottage was the perfect rental for our family of three and dog. The cottage was well maintained and had everything needed for a week long trip. The lake and surrounding property was beautiful. Mike and Kathy were friendly, helpful and all around great hosts.
We loved the cabin and lakeside amenities. Easy to book, easy to locate, woodsy feel. Close to Traverse City and all conveniences you could need. Will rebook next year!
Wonderful property with an amazing view. Close to all the fun of Traverse City but far enough away for a peaceful cabin experience. Owners were friendly and attentive. My dog and family would definitely book here again.
Just what we were looking for- a comfortable place to relax, enjoy some family time by a campfire and in the sand and playing in the water. Clean water and sandy shore. Friendly neighbors but the space felt private. It was fun to explore the lake and paddling around the islands. Bass and some pike can be caught in the lake. Indoors the space was clean and comfortable and was the perfect size for our family of 4 plus our dog. All essential amenities were there. The puppy probably had the most fun of all, and the gated deck was convenient when we wanted her to be outside but contained.
We had a great stay at the Texas cottage. It was cute, cozy and comfortable. We loved the wrap around deck and peaceful view of the lake in the mornings and evenings. My boys loved fishing off the dock and exploring the lake in the kayaks. Mike and Kathy were so welcoming and wonderful hosts.
Loved our stay at the Texas cottage. Mike and Kathy were terrific hosts. The gated wrap around deck was so perfect for our pup but would also be great for young children. Nicely appointed and decorated. And you can’t beat the location. Highly recommended!
Stayed in the off season. Loved the location of the cabin, peaceful quiet lake setting. Traveled with our dog and the inclosed deck was perfect. The size of the cabin was comfortable for my husband, myself and the dog. Easy to get to the downtown and other surrounding areas. Loved our stay will definitely being returning again.
This cabin is a gem! It was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. My husband and I enjoyed listening to the wildlife while drinking our coffee in the morning before heading out to explore the area, kayaking or chilling at the cabin for the day.
We can’t wait to come back!
The house is small but comfortable. It's clear the owners put a lot of effort into making it nice. Sitting and watching the lake was so peaceful. When issues came up the owners were very responsive & on top of things. Overall a lovely stay.
Great experience. Mike and family treated us like family. Peaceful setting, great with our pup with wrap around porch. Alot of water toys, campfire, treats from the area. Gorgeous weather for enjoying nature and kayaking. Nearby Traverse City has much to do, enjoyed it all but it all starts with the hosts and the waterfront cabin!
This was the most beautiful little cabin! Very clean, very comfortable, and the hosts were super sweet! My husband, dog, and myself had a blast!!! I would recommend this rental to EVERYONE. It was hands down best experience!
My family of 4 stayed for the memorial day weekend, and enjoyed our stay. The small touches were so appreciated - there was coffee and fun snacks waiting for us along with a kind note. The house matched the pictures and descriptions perfectly. The area was very quiet, and beautiful, with excellent access to great places for walking and running. And of course the house is right on the lake!

This cabin is located on a beautiful, calm, peaceful lake. The cabin has everything you need & is so warm & welcoming. It’s in a perfect place to stay to enjoy both the lake & day trips. We enjoyed spending time at the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, downtown Traverse City, Fishtown, North Port & Sutton Bay. Fishing & kayaking everyday. Highly recommend this property. The owners are amazing! They treated us like family.
Perfect from start to finish! Adorable gift basket welcomed us and the cottage was just adorable. Very comfortable and had everything in the kitchen one would need. Beds were great and the lakefront living was simply amazing. Easy access to "downtown" TC and tons of hiking and biking. Hosts were easy to reach and very kind (they live on property). I would love to return sometime and highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking in the area!
