The house was in a great location for various beaches. It was very clean, super comfortable, and big fenced in yard for our dog. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were wonderful and very accommodating.

We have stayed in many VRBO properties and this host was by far the kindest, most thoughtful person we have ever had. We are so amazed. The property was beautiful and the beach walk was really a special thing to do! Would recommend.

Tsunami scare and all…great time in Southern Oregon.

Great space for our family to spread out while vacationing on the coast. Host was very communicative throughout including the night of the earthquake in Russia and the feared tsunami. It missed us causing completely! Thanks for the space!

Great home to stay in Brookings

We really enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving break at the Mermaids Pearl. The location was so ideal! We loved having such easy access to the beach. Having a fenced back yard was so wonderful for our little dog. I definitely recommend staying here!!

Absolutely fantastic! House was super clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of blankets and towels. Beach access was just a short walk down a private path. Beach was empty most of the time or very few people. Fenced in yard for our pup too. Redwoods down the road and plenty of river access for kayaking. Gloria the host was wonderful. She was super available and gave great recommendations on where to go, what to do.

Amazing Home for our Wedding Group

This home was very clean, well stocked with all the necessities needed. We rented four properties for our wedding attendees and this one was ranked just below our ocean front one. The property owner was amazing to work with and was always just a text away.

Perfect in every way

Gloria is the most thoughtful owner I've ever rented from. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds & couches were incredibly comfortable, and bathroom had plenty of soft towels. The house was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was impeccably clean and the garden (fenced-in yard) was beautiful & perfect if you bring a dog. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we could exit through the back gate and walk to a gorgeous private beach in less than 5 minutes. Restaurants & stores are also only 5 minutes away. Truly everything was perfect.

Perfect Place to Stay

The property is in a quiet neighborhood and a great place to stay with family or friends if you want to be close to the beach and out of the main town (but definitely not too far away - within 4 mi and easy drive with no lights). Beautiful gardens in both the front and the back. The pine tree across the street houses tons of cool songbirds who visit the backyard frequently and nestle in the apple tree or the shrubs. The beach is nice with driftwood and tidepools if you walk down a ways. Great sunsets. Loved our stay and if we are up there again, we will be back! Owners are very helpful as well!

Very nice house

We really liked staying at this house overall. Everything is new and high quality. A few things that would improve it: stock the kitchen with decent bowls. There were only four very small bowls, not sure what you would use them for, and four large bowls, perhaps for ice cream or something? Nothing for everyday eating, like what you'd want for cereal or a meal. Please get some decent bowls, we ended up buying paper bowls for a our stay. Also, we did not know until a few days before check in through a random conversation with the owner that this house shares the property with another renter. You do have separate renters, but no privacy in the backyard. Every time you come and go the other renter's dogs yap at you, hence no sitting outside if they are also outside, which we didn't want to anyway as that was kind of awkward. It worked out ok, but as a renter, I very much wish to know details such as a shared property when deciding where I stay. Having this be a surprise to us was not appreciated at all. That aside, this home is great. A washer and dryer would make it even better, something which most beach houses include, which is very helpful if you are staying more than a few days. Beach access was easy and close. Contact with the owner was easy and quick. I would recommend this property to others, provided they are okay with the shared property aspect.

Why We Love Being Hosts
Hosting guests at A Mermaid’s Pearl has been a true joy for us. We love sharing this special place with others and giving people the opportunity to experience the beauty, peace, and magic of the Southern Oregon Coast. There’s something wonderful about knowing that families, couples, and friends are creating their own memories here just as we have.

When we spend time at A Mermaid’s Pearl, some of our favorite moments are the simplest ones. We love walking along the beach for miles, listening to the waves and searching for beautiful sea glass and unique pieces of driftwood that wash ashore. In the evenings, we often head down to the beach to watch the spectacular sunsets, which seem to paint the sky with different colors every night.
The nearby Winchuck River, just a short stroll up the beach is another place we enjoy. It’s perfect for a refreshing swim, kayaking, or simply floating along the gentle current on a warm day. It’s peaceful, scenic, and especially fun for families.
Only five minutes away is the harbor, where you can often buy fresh seafood and crab right off the boats, one of the many local treasures that makes this area so special.
For those who love exploring nature, we’re also close to incredible outdoor adventures. The breathtaking Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor offers some of the most dramatic coastal views in Oregon, and the nearby Redwood forests provide unforgettable hikes among towering ancient trees.
What we enjoy most about hosting is knowing that guests get to experience these same simple pleasures—whether it’s a quiet morning walk on the beach, a day exploring the coast, or an evening watching the sunset over the Pacific.
We hope that when you stay at A Mermaid’s Pearl, you feel the same sense of relaxation, beauty, and connection to nature that keeps bringing us back.

Inside, the home features beautiful nautical-inspired décor that reflects the spirit of the ocean. The warm coastal design creates a relaxing atmosphere where guests instantly feel like they’ve arrived at their beach getaway.
One of the highlights of A Mermaid’s Pearl is the private fully fenced backyard, perfect for relaxing in the fresh coastal air, enjoying a morning coffee, or unwinding after a day at the beach.
Best of all, the home includes private deeded beach access just a short two-minute walk away. A lovely path leads you directly to the stunning North Winchuck Beach, a quiet and mostly private stretch of coastline where you can walk for miles, watch spectacular sunsets, search for sea glass and seashells, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the waves.
Just six houses up the road is the scenic Winchuck River, a favorite spot for kayaking, paddle boarding, and safe floating for families with children. The calm river waters provide a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
