We had an absolutely wonderful stay. From the kitchen that had all the gadgets a chef could want, to the incredibly comfortable beds, to the stunning views of the mountains by day and a personal planetarium show at night - this home was fantastic!
The owners were exceptional to work with and made sure we had a wonderful stay.
The only trouble was having to leave!
The house was great for our family; minutes away from Stowe and easy to get to even with snowy weather; room enough for everyone to separate for "quiet time", but also a great "common room with views" where we tended to get together to talk, play games, and cook/eat. The house is very well equipped and was excellent for meeting our needs. I highly recommend it, and will likely be back in the future.

EXPERIENCE WITH OWNER
LOVELY HOME AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.
HOWEVER A WINDSTORM PICKED UP THE UMBRELLA OF THE DECK AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE SAME. WE NOTIFIED THE OWNER OF THE INCIDENT AND HE DEDUCTED AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT FOR THE UMBRELLA "REPAIR COST " FROM MY DEPOSIT. I CONTACTED HIM REGARDING THIS EXORBITANT BILL AND HE AGREEDED TO REUND A PORION, EIGHT MONTHS LATER AND HAVE YET TO SEE A REFUND. MY COMMENTS ARE BASED SOLELY UPON PRINCIPLE.

This was an unfortunate event. The guests let me know they left the umbrella up, and it was broken by a windstorm. They offered to pay for the damage. We went out of our way, spending hours of our time and two trips to Shelburne to only replace the wood frame, no charge for my time or mileage. Apparently they felt like we could of picked up a cheap umbrella at Home Depot. When they complained I offered to send them additional money, unfortunately I forgot to send it. I since have sent the agreed amount. What they refer to as an 'outrageous amount' is actually dinner for two at a decent restaurant. Of all the rentals we have only kept money a handful of times. If you prefer you can purchase insurance and forego the deposit.
This was a great place to stay, spacious living quarters with fantastic views. The hot tub was clean and easily accessible, even in -15 degree weather.
The gathering area was also quite nice with again great views of the mountains.
Plenty of space, beautiful views, comfortable sleeping and living accommodations. Great kitchen for cooking. Hot tub was wonderful after days of skiing. The owner really thought of everything. We were a family of 4 - plenty of room for playing games, working and spending time together. Don’t hesitate - this is a wonderful property!
Our experience at the house was wonderful. What a great time of year to visit Stowe and enjoy the scenery and all the great outdoor activities, food and beverage they have to offer. The house is beautiful with a lot of character, the outdoor space is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the great views. We did a good bit of cooking while we were there and this might be the best kitchen I have used in a rental. It was truly an easy and pleasurably experience with tips and advice from the property owners to make our trip even better.
The property was very private and not that far from downtown Stowe - maybe 10-15 min. We really enjoyed the open concept family room/kitchen that was extremely well stocked for cooking - coming from someone who does extensive cooking. Loved the high ceilings on the second floor and the post & beam style architecture. The hot tub was very nice! We also liked the large deck overlooking the mountains that included a propane Weber grill, which was really nice for BBQ's. The week we stayed was very hot (85-90 degrees) and I guess we assumed the house had air conditioning, so it was quite hot in the afternoons and evenings. We made due with the fans and ceiling fan in the MBR. Most of the late afternoons it rained and some of the evenings it poured, sometimes making it difficult to open the windows for ventilation and making sure the rain didn't come into the house. Apart from the heat, the house was very nice and we would rent it again, perhaps in a cooler month. Zeph was very easy to communicate with via text.
If you are looking for a really nice, well stocked home, with privacy, located near downtown Stowe and skiing, then you should definitely consider this one!

Hi Josh,
We are glad you enjoyed our home and appreciate the feedback.
The main road to Stowe from our home is closed for 7 weeks redirecting traffic which adds to the usual 6-7 minute time to Stowe Village. I am actually glad I have been detoured as we have rediscovered the beauty of our alternate routes.
We are considering adding heat pumps that can heat and cool. The technology has come a long way since we built the home in 2009, and I think there is evidence of rising temperatures.
In the meantime we have updated the house instructions. Windows on the north and east side can usually be open since the storms generally come from the same direction.
We welcome you back anytime!
While doing a little research I found this very interesting website.

We had a delightful time in this beautiful home. We arrived at night and literally gasped when we opened the door and saw all the beautiful wood floors and furniture. Things got even better when we came downstairs and looked out on a gorgeous view of the Green Mountains outside the living room window and from the wraparound deck. Zeph was a wonderful host and the house was incredibly well stocked. Close to Stowe but nestled away up on a hill, you feel like you are king of your own private castle .
The house was just as described- perfection. Well appointed kitchen. Everything was absolutely perfect- could not have asked for more. Zeph was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. Would definitely stay again. Stay here! you will not regret it.
What a great home! We returned to this property a second time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. The stress of a long car ride with the kids melts away as soon as you take in the mountain views from the Master Bedroom or off the back of the deck. The first floor layout is so warm and comfortable. We loved warming up relaxing in front of the gas stove. Another enjoyable stay that seemed to end too soon!
The house was so clean, the kitchen very well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable. The views are beautiful! We loved sitting in the hot tub enjoying the birds in the backyard and watching the snow fall. Zeph and Beverly always responded so quickly to my questions. We also loved the food and beer at Lost Nation Brewing in Morrisville. I highly recommend staying here!

Great ski vacation
The house was lovely, stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was a great treat after the amazing skiing conditions at Stowe Mountain Resort. The owners were very responsive and helpful -- even sending us a forgotten item the very next day. We'll definitely be back!

Nice, clean house
We had a nice ski weekend at this house. It was close to restaurants and breweries, yet in a nice quiet area. Other than having to buy our own plunger, everything else was provided. Enough room for all of us, and a beautiful kitchen. The hot tub was a nice addition to warming up in the very cold temperatures!

Relaxing Stay with Awesome Views
Our family had the best fall vacation at this house! Our days in Stowe are packed full of activities but it was an absolute pleasure to come home to this charming and warm home to relax and unwind before heading out to dinner. We loved the open lay out, comfortable furnishings, and amazing views. You just feel right at home from the moment you step inside until you begrudgingly have to leave. Owners were great to deal with.

Beautiful, comfortable, spacious home
We had a great time at “couching lion”. Hosts were very easy to communicate with. Home is in a great location, easy to get to downtown Stowe or Morrisville. Loved sitting on the deck and watching the hummingbirds come to the feeder.

Beautiful property with amazing views.
This property is well designed, light and with an open layout that maximizes the wonderful views of Mt. Mansfield. It comfortably slept four adults and three teenagers in spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. The location was quite convenient to the village of Stowe and a Shaw’s grocery. The mud room provided a good ante-room to store all the ski equipment and gear along with plenty of hooks for hanging coats, helmets, gloves, etc. The kitchen was extremely well equipped to include a working waffle maker and egg poacher. The shelves were stocked with a wide selection of herbs and all manner of plastic wrap, foil, and containers for food storage. The home also has plenty of parking space, even for large vehicles. Thanks to Zeph and Beverly for opening their home to us.

Great Vermont Get Away
We had the pleasure of recently visiting Stowe Vermont and enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The layout was great for our group of six, and we especially loved the open floor plan and kitchen island with stove and seats for cooking and eating.
The bedrooms were lovely with very comfortable beds and everything was clean and tidy.
Beautiful views were enjoyed morning and evening. If we could have changed one thing, we would move the hot tub. We would have loved to have spent time star gazing in the evening from the hot tub, but it is located under the deck so viewing is quite limited. Oh and yes we could have used a little more snow. Maybe next time.

Beautiful home with everything you need. And pet friendly too!
Very well equipped home and kitchen. Great views of mountains! Basement bedroom is a great teen or kids area--so much room, plenty of sleeping options, and a full bath down there! Loved the mudroom with all the snow boots and stuff--kept all the water and dirt from
Being tracked into the house. And made it easy to keep dogs from running out the door. Would love to rent again--owners thought of everything!
