This well appointed single story home is a 10 minute walk to a private Beach on Lake Michigan. It sits on a beautiful secluded lot with lots of mature trees. There are patios in the front and back yard with a rock Fire Pit out back. It's a great place to lay back in the Hammock and relax the day away.
When you walk in the front door the Vaulted Ceiling makes it feel very big and open. There are two large sliding glass doors that span the living room and dining room and bring the back yard into the house. A wood burning fireplace, a flat screen TV and wireless internet access will give you all of the comforts of home. The kitchen includes an eat-in banquette, honed granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
To the left of the entrance are three bedrooms and two baths. The first room has a queen sized bed and a unique closet made from an old barn door. The next room has two XL twin beds and a large closet. There is a common bathroom with a tub. The Master follows and is a large room with a king bed, lots of closet space and an attached master bath featuring pebble floors and a glass shower.
It's a great place to relax.

The house was wonderful, everything was clean and organized,. The neighborhood was extremely quiet. The beach was very private, we went to the beach every day and we were the only ones on the private beach!
We loved the house. Everything we needed. Very clean. Easy walk to the beach. Liked the location. We could take walks in the neighborhood. Hope to go back next year
Perfect rental. Beautifully decorated and great location. The association beach was just beautiful. You can walk, ride (they have 2 bikes) or drive. While there are lots of stairs to get down to the beach, the stairs are broken up in 3 levels. I have knee problems and had no problems. Really a great rental.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the home and the bikes and the access to the private beach. The choice of restaurants was good. Seeing deer in the yard was refreshing.
My friends and I have visited Union Pier for seven years and this was our favorite house. It was clean and fully stocked with everything you’d need for the beach. We LOVED the private beach which was walking distance. Would definitely stay again!
We really enjoyed staying here. Location was perfect! The neighborhood is quiet and the walk to the lake is very easy. Beach chairs and floaters are available. We really enjoyed using the bikes to ride around. I definitely recommend for families or couples. An amazing relaxing experience and a nice break from our city life.
Super comfortable and spacious home for a Labor Day weekend getaway. The neighborhood was quiet and felt like a relaxing area. We didn’t explore much given the packed wedding weekend agenda, but everything was a quick drive. Will need to come back to check out the beach!! Beds were comfortable, and it was great to have extra space - 3 women getting ready for a wedding need to be able to spread out!!
Check in and check out instructions were super clear, and hosts were friendly and proactive with their communication. Would highly recommend!
My husband and I really liked this house. Nice quiet neighborhood. When we went to the beach, there were so many beach toys, chairs, floats, etc. that it really made it great, especially with the grandkids. We loved the bikes! There is cornhole, basketball, and lots of things for the kids to do. Our only problem was the very light window coverings in the bedrooms. It is vacation after all, and it would be nice NOT to wake up with the sun each day. And the last night we were there, we had quite the light show from the lightning in our room from the storms, and we had a difficult time sleeping. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. I would recommend this place for a great vacation.
The home was lovely and just as described. We took our young adult daughters, their boyfriends, and two small, non-shedding dogs with us. There was ample room for everyone. It had all the little amenities we needed and/or wanted. Everything was easy to find and instructions for getting to the beach were easy to follow. We all truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home.
What a great house so close to a private beach! The house was clean and well stocked and we used lots of beach items and bikes from the garage! The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would love to stay here again in the future.
My 4 sisters aan I spent a week at this place and loved it. Very spacious and a short walk to beautiful beach on Lake Michigan. We were challenged trying to get the TV to work but Michele took time to Facetime us and ensured we got it working. Not much going on in Union Pier but we were able to travel around the area and enjoy ourselves.
We really enjoyed the house. It could comfortably sleep six people, and the owners offered some additional amenities in the house for the beach. We appreciated that. Location relative to the beach is pretty good. Short walk, or short drive and ample parking. Would highly recommend.
This is the third year my girlfriend group has stayed at this lovely home. We enjoy the proximity to the private beach and the ease of driving into New Buffalo. The house is always clean and has the essentials we need for our stay. We hope to be back next year for our annual girls trip!
The property is beautiful, in a great location, close to beach and town and restaurants. The house is perfectly decorated, comfortable and accommodating. The host had everything we needed for a family stay. We absolutely loved it
We had a wonderful time. Steve and Michelle are so kind and have such a nice place. The 4 of us all adults in our family have enjoyed their place these last few years. The beach is so beautiful and we got to see the strawberry moon in the clear Michigan sky and the stars!! We are thankful for the time there
We have stayed here for a few years and the owners are so kind and we had to change our dates this year and they were so accommodating
The place is close to the beach and our favorite places to eat. Thank you for a wonderful time!!!
Beautiful spacious home! Everything you need for a Beach Vacation! Private Beach Access just a few blocks away… the bicycles added to the fun and ease of the short ten minute walk. We all had such an amazing time. The house is close to many amenities and the private neighborhood was beautiful. Loved having the beach gear and towels included! It made packing so much easier. The owner is easy to work with and even had the cleaning crew come early so that we could start our vacation a day early. Thanks Michelle!
This was our girl group’s second time staying here….it is a perfect spot for us. The owners are very responsive and friendly. The rental is clean and set up just right and it is in a wonderful location in a quiet area. We hope to continue our stays here in the years to come.
Nice clean house with upgraded kitchen & bath, large family room & dining room and spacious back yard with fire pit. Walking distance to numerous beach access entrances which have steep staircases. Host very receptive to all inquires. Will be back!
Steve grew up in Essexville, MI and Michele is from Minnesota, but spent over 15 years in Chicago working for Kraft Foods. We met in Memphis, TN our primary residence in addition to Union Pier. We were married at the Journeyman in Three Oaks in 2019. Steve just wrote his first book, Nocturnal Admissions, a memoir of funny stories from a 30 year career running legendary nightclubs in the US. This picture is from the book signing at the New Buffalo Library in JULY, 2022.
Why they chose this property
We love the small town feel of Harbor Country and the great options for dining, breweries, hikes, Lake Michigan and close proximity to Chicago.
What makes this property unique
There's nothing better than bringing a bottle of wine down to the beach to watch the sunset (perk of a private beach). It is considered one of the nicest beaches in the area.
