3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home located on Susan Lake. Susan Lake is 5.4 miles from downtown Charlevoix. It’s a shallow, narrow lake, and flows out the northern end 2 miles emptying into Lake Michigan. Enjoy the call of loons on Susan Lake, or kayak and fish the spring-fed waters.

Campfire pit, firewood and outdoor seating is also provided. Quiet time starts at 10:00 pm when outside.

Dogs are allowed, any size, but MUST BE ON LEASH when outside. This is mandatory. My neighbors have dogs and there are free range chickens right across the road. There is a $45 pet fee.

Miles of hiking trails through untouched forest and stunning water views from hilltops nearby. Several parks with stunning views and fishing piers are also located in the area.
Greensky Hill Indian United Methodist Church is a historical site, also on the shores of Susan Lake.
LITTLE TRAVERSE WHEELWAY is a paved and non-motorized trail that stretches 26 miles from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs along the coast of Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. The trail is for biking, walking, running, inline skating and skiing. It has stunning views of the water, a boardwalk through a wetland and a historic section. We stayed here for the Starfall ball at Castle Farms. The property was beautiful, it had everything we needed and more! The location was perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We have already talked about coming back since we enjoyed it so much!

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at this property. The listing was very accurate as to what was there. The neighborhood was quiet, the house was clean and comfortable, the wifi worked and all in all it was a nice getaway. We're happy that we stayed there.

Cute home with a great location

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and well maintained and only a short distance from downtown Charlevoix. There was firewood and sticks available to have a nice fire down by the water. We would definitely recommend the home to others and would stay there again.

Amazing place with a gorgeous view

Definitely the best place to stay between Charlevoix and Petoskey! My family was able to enjoy all lakes and downtown cities, just 1hr from Traverse City too. The house was perfect, cleaned and comfortable. Amazing lake view.

Think twice!

We arrived and opened the door to an overpowering and unpleasant scent of wet dog.The house was hot and smelled extremely musty, almost like it has been closed up and with no air flow for weeks.There were other issues but worst was the heat mixed w wet dog smell that would not subside. At first, the host seemed willing to work with us. She admitted that the house was on a crawl space and that she didn't understand why it smelled b/c she had just been there earlier to change the damp rid, which shows that she knew there was an issue, which she later denied. When I communicated with her that the smell and heat combined were so bad that we were thinking of leaving, she agreed that she would "work with us" and give us a partial refund for our inconvenience. We were unable to find alternate lodging on the spot, unfortunately so we were stuck using it as just a place to sleep and avoided the house the rest of the time. Owner had to know there was a smell and mustiness issue, b/c she even offered to order a dehumidifer and have it delivered to the porch the next morning! She not only reneged on her promise of a partial refund but then accused us of making up our concerns and being "impossible" people to work with.The back table outside was covered with grime and leaves. Old porch was dipping down in spots,hurt my ankle trying to haul luggage while balancing w no rail.Broken tv in bedroom, and more,but main prob.was rude treatment from host after issues were brought up respectfully.

We were looking for a cozy cottage on a lake in a secluded area and this property was just what we wanted. The view was lovely, the surroundings were peaceful, the house was clean and had all the necessary amenities available for our use. Kathy was a great host and responded quickly when we had questions. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Bang for your buck kind of stay

Check in was easy and communication with Kathy was clear—she told us we could stay past the checkout time, which made for a lovely last morning on our trip. The house was nestled in trees and looks out onto the lake; the views were great! The house itself was perfectly functional and we especially appreciated the coffee, thought we’d wished the listing specified that there’s no central AC (just one window unit in the living room). We visited in August and it took us 2 days to cool down the house using the unit and fans to get it comfortable for sleeping. Everything was clean, but it did smell like someone used to smoke in this house. All told though, we felt like we got a great value for our money and loved the lake front setting.
