The Hayloft is a renovated hay barn loft once used by an Alaskan pack hunting guide. In the 90's it was converted to an adorable loft style apartment.
With nearby hiking in the Chugach National Forest or fishing on the Upper Kenai, the loft is the perfect jumping off point for a variety of adventures on the Kenai Peninsula.
You will feel right at home in this charming and cozy apartment perfect for a small family or group of friends.
The space The loft is a quirky, yet very cute and functional space. The kitchen and dining area is spacious with French doors opening up to the balcony/porch. On one side of the loft there is a small bedroom with a queen bed and the entrance to the only restroom is inside of this bedroom.
On the other side of the loft there is a living space with a tv, sofa, lounge chair and an additional queen bed. Please note that guests sleeping in the second bed will have to go into the other bedroom to enter the bathroom.
We allow 5 guests, but that means 2 people in each queen bed and one on the couch. We have extra blankets and pillows.
Guest access Please note that you must be able to climb a flight of stairs to get into the apartment. The property is shared with our other rental home. (separate parking area provided).
Self check-in with keypad. Other things to note Hosts operate a guided sport fishing business on the Kenai and Kasilof rivers. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to include a fishing trip with your stay. We are also happy to help with any questions you might have regarding your travels on the Kenai Peninsula. We know of many great activities/outfitters and places to stay throughout the state!
Internet can be spotty in Moose Pass and on our property. WiFi is available but it is shared with our other rental. We suggest you spend your time in the great outdoors while in Alaska, you won’t regret it! If you have work you need to do while you are here that requires internet access you may consider using a mobile hot spot to be certain you will have full internet access.

The Hayloft was in a great central location for our planned activities in Whittier and Seward. Communication with our host was also excellent! The directions provided were perfect, but I seemed to always miss the turn into the driveway. There is a 20-stair (approx.) steep climb to the front door. Once inside, there are also two separate deep steps, one leading down to the bedroom and other down into the living area. The stairs were not a problem for us, but could be for someone with mobility issues. The cabin itself was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed for our 3-night stay. Wish we could have enjoyed the deck and barbecue, but the weather did not cooperate. We highly recommend the Hayloft.

About the host
Hosted by Kristin Wyatt
My husband and are year round Alaska residents and we enjoy fishing, hunting, and exploring our great state on backcountry snow machines. We run a guided river fishing business in the summer and love to show visitors how wonderful our state is.
Why they chose this property
The Moose Pass community comes alive in the summer with vibrant greenery, the insanely steep Chugach Mountains towering above and some of the most friendly residents and neighbors you may ever meet.
What makes this property unique
The views from our property are unmatched and you can enjoy a cocktail or bbq with your family on the Hayloft balcony while taking in the incredible scenery of our area. We lived in the Hayloft prior to renting it and it is filled with everything we felt it needed to be a truly comfortable home away from home.
