KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK, EXIT GLACIER & HARDING ICEFIELD, and saltwater fishing on Resurrection Bay are also only minutes away.

Superb HIKING/mountain BIKING trails through lush forests to alpine meadows blanketed with wildflowers beside crystal clear snow-melt streams, waterfalls, ponds and lakes surrounded by glaciated mountain majesty are minutes away.

Perfect Alaskan getaway!

We came to Moose Pass for spring break from Anchorage. It was 4 of us, and our two chihuahuas. The view is absolutely stunning (even when we live in Alaska and see the beautiful mountains on the daily, this view was still breathtaking). The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked several meals and were never lacking anything we needed. The BBQ worked great. The place was clean, family and pet friendly. The bedding was comfortable and we finally got a good night's sleep! The hot tub was relaxing and our entire stay was just fantastic. We will definitely request to book again the future. Thank you for a great stay!!

We really really enjoyed our stay! The views of the mountains were beautiful, and the space was perfect for our group of 7. We got to enjoy the hot tub as well, a great way to end our chilly day adventures!

Moose Pass is the perfect base for the activities we planned in Seward. The host was very responsive to all my questions, and the Stellar Jay chalet was clean and equipped with all the amenities our active family of five needed for a great vacation.

Felt like visiting a friend

The chalet was super cozy and clean. The beds were comfortable. We all felt like we were visiting a friend. The pantry had all the stock spices you needed to relax and make breakfast. We caught lots of fish so we came "home" and cooked. The host added a special touch the first day we were there. Thanks for a memorable stay.

I would stay here again

Everything you could want in a vacation rental. Beautiful lakeside mountain view, privacy, responsive host, homemade breakfast surprising us on our arrival, canoes available for stunning paddling, plenty of nearby hiking, short drive to Seward. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future!

Alaskan cabin in the woods

My family and I were so happy with this property. We wanted to stay somewhere that felt more Alaskan than a hotel in town. The cabin was very spacious we all had our own beds for a family of 5. The view from the balcony was stunning overlooking a lake and misty mountains. We found homemade creme brule french toast in the fridge which was a delightful surprise. The host was easy to communicate with. This was our favorite place we stayed while on our trip to Alaska!

Just right

staying here was just right for our trip. The chalet was very clean and met our needs. The location was the best as it saved us time going between towns such as Seward and Soldotna. Highly recommend. Gary the owner is on top of it.

Great place to stay. Fully equipt!

we had a wonderful stay for Christmas. It was even decorated with carols playing when we arrived. So warm and cozy and plenty of things to do outside. Only downside is that its pretty expensive after you add up all the fees and taxes.

Wonderful Cabin!

We spent Thanksgiving at the cabin and it was great! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner, the beds and rooms were all comfortable, living room was cozy with a great view of the lake and the hot tub was an added bonus! We spent some time cross country skiing, back country skiing was not far away and we drove into Seward to visit the Sea Life museum. We would absolutely recommend this cabin!

Very pleasantly surprised of the clean dishes and newer appliances that worked

The hosts were easy to contact and they checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. Electric went out and they kept us informed when the power came back on when we were out

Fabulous scenery and location

Our cruise was cancelled so we flew into Anchorage and booked this home. Gary met us at the door and showed us around. The house was perfect and beautiful. It was about 1 1/2 hrs from Anchorage and 1 hr from Seward. We were able to see sites in Seward and in the area. We would have loved to stay longer but we had other commitments. The views of the lake and mountains are breathtaking. Gary was very nice and visited a few times as we were leaving. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves coming to the area.

Perfect location

It was the perfect location on the Kenai Peninsula with lots of activities less than an hour away in each direction. The chalets are close enough to be convenient if you had a big enough group and wanted to occupy multiple units. However, they are spread out enough that we only knew other units were occupied when we saw another car. Gary, the owner, was easy to communicate with and gave us a thorough walkthrough when we arrived. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked including nonstick pans and sharp knives, which are frequently missing from other rentals. Perhaps most importantly in an Alaskan summer, the bedrooms had blackout curtains. I thought this would be standard in Alaska, but our next rental house near Fairbanks did not have them. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Alaska.

A work in progress

Property is dated and it looks like it is being updated. Lots of little things-unfinished construction, several outlets lacking cover plates, some doors off decks not able to be locked, curtain rod in one bedroom didn’t work and couldn’t close at night. Not great water pressure but had plenty of hot water. Exterior of property was unkempt. Felt like it was not quite up to the level advertised but we did not encounter any problems with operation or function. On the positive side-beds were comfortable, lots of dishes and supplies ( might want to clear out some old food products in cabinets), lots of good clean towels, appliances worked very well, great living space and GREAT VIEW!! Good location for access to Seward and hiking and fishing spots. Caretakers readily available for communication.

Excellent

The house was spotless and huge. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of room. Separate living areas on the 1st and 2nd floors give everyone the space they need. The house is well equipped. Importantly, bottled water (water cooler) is provided which is fabulous as the sulfur smell of the water is tough to deal with. 8 gallons were provided for our 3 night stay which was more than sufficient but more was available had we needed it. The view is just as pictured. Absolutely gorgeous. Th house sits on a hill above the Seward Highway so there is some traffic noise but it certainly isn't an interstate as there are only 2 lanes. Access to the pristine lake is right across the highway and down a short steep embankment. The on-site property managers met us for check-in, showed us everything we needed to know and were extremely helpful setting up a generator when there was an area wide power outage. They were available by cell our entire stay. We used this house as a home base for day trips to Seward which is 28mi away. The ride there is beautiful and quick. The town of Moose Pass itself does not offer anything to travelers other than a motel and super small convenience store (no gas) but that was fine with us. The house is in a group of 3 homes all situated so that, while another home is visible, you really feel like you are removed from the world. We would love to come back to Steller Jay and recommend it 100%.

A Perfect Trip

We had a perfect trip to the Kenai Peninsula in late May. We had 4 adults and 3 children (ages 5-11) and zero complaints. The photos don't do the views justice when you're in the Stellar Jay chalet. We spent too much time staring out the window. The kitchen is very well equipped and allowed us to cook multiple meals at home. We found plenty of linens and the WiFi and cell signal were both excellent. The house is centrally located so it's an easy drive from Anchorage, up to Whittier, down to Seward, or over to Cooper Landing. We had a great time exploring Alaska and using Stellar Jay as our home base for a week. We hope we'll be able to come back some day.
