Excellent property and very well maintained. Nice hot tub. Host was responsive to any questions we had which was minimal and very helpful. Can’t say enough about the property and host. Would stay there again!
Location is great for exploring the area— easy access to Seward and cooper landing. House was clean and views amazing. They do request in person check-in to walk through mechanics of the house, and there are a few check-out chore requests, but this was not an issue for us. Beds are comfortable and place is cozy. Homemade surprise in the fridge was a nice touch. We would stay again.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are a family owned and operated vacation property for over 20 years- not a distant private equity firm or real estate investor that jumped on the AirBnB honey wagon. We welcome guests and spend a bit of time as we've learned it saves time and trouble later. And we're genuinely interested in meeting our guests and learning a bit about who you are and what brought you here. And YOU have access to a life-long Alaskan who knows the territory from Fairbanks to Kodiak. Its called the "hospitality business" after all- and we do our best to be that.
This was a perfect spot for our family of six adults to go out and explore the Kenai Peninsula. The view from the deck is phenomenal and watching float planes take off and land was an enjoyable activity. When back from exploring we were able to watch the World Cup on a nice large tv screen. The hosts left a delicious French toast casserole in the frig for our first morning — above and beyond! Such a thoughtful thing to do for travelers! The only to be aware of is that you must be able to climb one floor of stairs as the kitchen and main gathering area is on the second floor. It was not an issue for us but it might be for some.We would definitely return.
We had the best time in this location and in this chalet. It was central to so many wonderful spots to explore and also had their own amazing views and lake access. It was perfect for our large family and we can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful stay in Moose Pass! The chalet was conveniently located between Seward and Anchorage. Having breakfast already prepared for us for the first morning by the host was a really nice surprise! I would definitely recommend staying here.
The perfect mountain retreat. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the hot tub was great overlooking the mountains. It was a really wonderful property. Highly recommend. The hosts even left us a homemade French toast dish for the next morning that was excellent!
The views of the lake and surrounding mountains from the Chalet are amazing! Hot tub was great for seeing views and relaxing after outdoor excursions. Host was kind and welcoming, and provided helpful suggestions on activities nearby and fishing. Overall, we had a memorable experience visiting the Kenai Peninsula, and would stay here again if ever back.
Great place! Comfortable beds. AMAZING view. Super easy to communicate with the hosts. They also surprised us with a delicious breakfast French toast casserole in the fridge. Cannot recommend this place enough.
We had a lovely time at Stellar Jay Chalet in Moose Pass. The home was very nice and so clean. Location amazing and the views are gorgeous. Highly recommend. Host, Gary, is super nice and helpful. Hope we can go back one day!
We really really enjoyed our stay! The views of the mountains were beautiful, and the space was perfect for our group of 7. We got to enjoy the hot tub as well, a great way to end our chilly day adventures!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Stellar Jay. The house was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great and the view of the mountains and lake was beautiful. Very thoughtful hosts left us a French toast casserole that was delicious. This house is great for hanging out and a good home base for hiking and rafting and fishing.
Everything you could want in a vacation rental. Beautiful lakeside mountain view, privacy, responsive host, homemade breakfast surprising us on our arrival, canoes available for stunning paddling, plenty of nearby hiking, short drive to Seward. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future!

Thanks for styaing with us and glad you enjoyed your stay. The Eastern Kenai Peninsula is REALLY the BEST of Alaska - and The Spruce Moose is an incomparable place to wake up to in the morning, adventure from during the day, and return to at night to relax in the loooong summer evenings, surrounded by incredible mountian and lake views. Come back soon! (Oh, and winter is great too! Think: aurora from the hot tub!)
