Located on the shores of Lake Pepin, Maiden Rock Loft is a beautifully restored 1893 Masonic building apartment with artistic & up-cycled touches highlighted with an extraordinary view of the lake. This attractive and comfortable 1500 ft2 apartment features the work of local artisans, including custom inlaid concrete kitchen counter, white oak bar, douglas fir trestle table, custom upcycled light fixtures, reclaimed rustic barn wood bedroom furnishings and custom cabinetry throughout. A soaring 19th century pressed tin ceiling and original douglas fir flooring & trim and large windows hold this artistic space beautifully. Modern appliances (gas range, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer) and new furnace & air conditioner create comfort and ease within this light filled historic space. If you're looking for more than just 'a place to stay' in the Lake Pepin Driftless area of Wisconsin area, Maiden Rock Loft offers a lodging experience that simply glows with historic & artistic character, natural light and inviting comfort.

Momma's Weekend Away!

This property is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The detail in the decor was impecable. We enjoyed playing cards, visiting local wineries, and dancing across the street at The Six String Saloon. The owner was very easy to work with! I highly recommend staying here!

Was in town for wedding at Liberty Tree Farm. Location is great, place is very spacious, check was seamless and had a great time in town. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience!

Beautifully restored property- everything was perfect- from the character of the place to the high-end finishes and amenities. My family and I felt so at home there and had a lovely stay. We hosted other family for dinner there one evening and everyone raved about the place. Thank you! ❤️

My late husband, Ric, and I moved to the Maiden Rock area in 2014. In 2017, we purchased the Masonic building (then housing a funeral home on the lower level) with the intention of creating a yoga studio, retail shop and upper level living space. The studio, Santosha Springs Yoga & Wellness, opened in 2019 and the retail space in the front was leased to The Nest in late 2020. Ric passed in May of 2020, 3 months after a cancer diagnosis. I decided to keep the building and finish the renovation of the loft apartment (my Covid project). With the help and expertise of many talented local folks and countless hours dedicated to restoring the space, Maiden Rock Loft was finally ready to rent in July 2023....nearly 2 1/2 years later. The Loft is a completion of the vision that my late husband and I had for this historic building in Maiden Rock.

Maiden Rock and the other small towns & villages along the Great River Road in the Lake Pepin area have a unique character, welcoming attitude and scenic views that immediately charm visitors to the area. Each town is pedestrian friendly and there are a multitude of unique shops & restaurants to enjoy. The art and music scene is also quite vibrant in this area. I love the way that the river bluffs surround Maiden Rock and it's proximity to Lake Pepin.

What makes this property unique

Maiden Rock Loft simply glows with historic charm and artistic character. When you walk up the staircase, it's as if you're transported back into the 1890's. The soaring tin ceiling, classic high windows and refinished original fir flooring underscore this feeling of craftsmanship and beauty from a previous era. Although the building is located on Hwy. 35, the walls have been re-insulated to provide sound proofing and a feeling of being 'above it all'. If you're looking for a unique and beautiful place to stay, along with a spectacular view of Lake Pepin, Maiden Rock Loft may just provide the 'perfect' weekend base for exploring the area.
