Anniversary Getaway

This is a lovely cottage right on Lake Pepin with beautiful autumn views of the lake. We really appreciate that it was in walking distance of downtown and could enjoy the stores and restaurants that Lake City had to offer.

Always Cozy

This is our third year renting this sweet little house. We rent it because it is in walking distance to my parents house when we visit from NC. We love it because of the view and the cozy details throughout. The house is well stocked. The sunrise over the frozen lake and the easy walk to Heidi's Huggamug were bonuses. It's a charming home, in a lovely neighborhood.

Good for a fall getaway

Great location directly on tthe river, with only a small quiet street to cross. Quaint small town walkable. Short drive to the National Eagle center. House had a lot of old-timey character but clean and well equipped.

Great place!

I liked the style of the house, it was comfortable with great views of lake. I was able to bike, walk, and because I was envious of people fishing, I booked a guide and caught lots of fish. Great restaurants and shops nearby. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Perfect view in the cutest spot

Loved my weekend stay in this great spot on the lake in Lake City. The windows facing the water weee perfect. So many spots to sit and have coffee and look out into the water. Saw eagles and boats right from the porch swing and living room couches. It’s decorated so cute and love the sliding doors that can open up the bedroom to the sunrise in the morning. Great location to the town area where I walked to breakfast and local shopping. Had a nice time and would stay again.

Wonderful location

Overall this was a wonderful location and comfortable stay. The home does need some maintenance, however this did not distract much from the stay. It comfortably sleeps 4, however one person can stay on the fold-down couch.

Relaxing Weekend-Stunning Views

We had a wonderful visit to Lake City. The house has tons of character and charm. We loved the screened porch for morning and afternoon lounging. Great location on the water, and great access to enjoy walking paths near the water and marina. The views are incredible!

Unclean with lots of live and dead bugs, great location

Dust bunnies and dead bugs everywhere. Most unclean VRBO I've ever stayed in. Had to vacuum the place myself so my 16-month-old didn't put dead bugs or dust bunnies in his mouth. Communication with host was difficult as they were "stressed out", which is apparently why it wasn't clean. The owner threatened to leave a bad review for me when i gave her the chance to make it right. She also told me i left it dirty, but i have plenty of pictures to price others. They didn't make muchthem.

Great Stay

We had a great 10 day stay. Communication with Holly was excellent and very responsive. The house is in a fantastic location. Quaint house. Sleeps four comfortably. All dishes, pans, towels, etc…. Included. The grill was great. Will definitely do it again.

Best Spot on river

I have stayed here many times and every visit I am enchanted all over again! This quaint, adorable house has all the modern comforts - love the whirlpool and the free standing tub up in the aerie! The direct river views are magical, and sitting in the swing on 1 of 3 porches is so fun! The largest porch is screened (thank you!) and it and the top one give drop-dead views of Lake Pepin and upriver past Maiden Rock. I would love to be here all the time! 💖

Girls weekend getaway

Location and view are perfect. Charming old house with lots of character. Host was very responsive to messages. Looks like they are working on updating and it is much needed. Terrible storm while we stayed there, which is completely out of hosts control, but water was leaking inside multiple places throughout the house. It’s been happening for a while as wood was rotting around window being replaced. Dog hair all over the couches required us to put sheets on them to sit comfortably. Used soap from prior guests still on sink. Overall had a great stay, but for the price we paid, have higher expectations.

Wish I could live here!

This special place is my hands down favorite. It combines the charm of the old house - 3 porches! adorable upper bedroom and bath with its own eagles nest balcony - with modern comfort. The luxurious double whirlpool is the cherry on this sundae. Add the amazing view of Lake Pepin and her shores, the interesting water craft, and very short walk to town, restaurants, even a DQ. Result? Serene perfection. Holly is a great owner and so easy to work with. It's a calm and bright spot in a tumultuous world. Thank you Holly!!!

My Very Favorite Place!

This was my 10th stay at this unique property, and won't be my last! I've never stayed anywhere that gives me such joy, peace, and comfort. I could look "up lake" 22 miles forever, either from the top deck (where we watched vultures and eagles soar) or the lower, screened porch. The modernized kitchen is totally great (we cooked most meals) & the optional wine for sale is a nice touch! We spent hours on the porch swing, just chilling and watching the people, boats, and birds pass by. The jacuzzi is wonderful, but fill it with hot water first (it runs out) then add cold. The slipper tub on the upper floor fills completely with nice, hot water. LOVE the color schemes and hand made art, pillows, quilts, etc. Such nice touches! Holly rocks, she couldn't be a better owner to work with. Stay here for a lovely getaway by yourself, with your honey, or a whole family.

Relaxing stay at the lake

This house is so cute with plenty of room for a family of four. It is close to Red Wing & Wabasha making it an easy drive to see the sights. The house was very clean with all you need to make a lunch or supper. I highly recommend it & will be back soon.

It is a short 40 minute drive to all the beauty and energy the river has to offer! My husband is an architect and I am a real estate broker with a degree in interior design. We have been involved in the renovation of real estate for years.
