Great place to stay; right in the heart of Grand Marais and on the beach. Perfect location; walkable to everywhere in town and many good restaurants.The place is clean and pretty quiet. As stated in other reviews, you can hear the creaking of the upstairs tenants and some muffled voices, but not after 8 or 9 at night. The best part is that you can open the windows and fall asleep to the waves.

Amazing!

This was absolutely perfect for me and my husband's mini moon! The location was gorgeous, we loved having fires on the beach and waking up to the view of Lake Superior. It's centralized so that we could walk everywhere within Grand Marais. We did hear some noise from the people staying upstairs, but it was minimal and did not impact the enjoyability of our stay whatsoever. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect!

The location is perfect…you can walk to shops, restaurants, coffee, bakery and then being right on the beach was amazing! The room is very comfortable with amazing views of the lake! We loved it!

Great location and views

This is a wonderful place for a couple or single in downtown Grand Marais. It’s block or two from all the shopping in GM. The view is spectacular, looking out over the bay to the east of town. Highly recommended!

Unbelievable view and location

This was the perfect place to stay in grand marais for the weekend. I’ve been to town a few times and this is by far the best location I’ve stayed and definitely the best view. 10/10 would recommend!

Great place

This place was so convenient to everything in town. Like bed the sunrises from our room!! The only thing was, it would have been nice to have coffee as there was the coffee pot, creamer, sweeteners & filters. We did get some very good coffee to brew from an establishment in town though. We will stay here again!

Right on the shore of Lake Superior

This is a very homey room. It was nice to sit on the lakeshore in the Adirondack chairs and have a glass of wine while watching the waves and gulls. Easy walk to several restaurants and Artist's Point. Great view!

We had a little hiccup in the reservation but the owner made it right. The place was just perfect for a couple of old friends on an adventure. So close to everything and yet quiet and serene. We will be back! 😀

Perfect place for a Grand Marais exploration

The place was small, cozy, and the thin walls of the old log structure are just fine if you have ear plugs or use a sound machine. Also, bring toiletries of your own since they only have standard soap. It's worth the location right on the Artists point peninsula and coast guard/lighthouse public park on one side with easy walking to shopping and food on the other.

Beautiful view!

Overall our visit was great! The location was PERFECT!! It's within walking distance of so many great places. Plus the view of the lake was beautiful!! We had a slight issue when we got there but the host fixed the situation in a very reasonable time and was very polite about it. The only complaint we have is that the bed is really uncomfortable, also there is an apartment above this space and the area above the bed squeaks loudly everytime the above tenants walk over it.

A totally magical experience!

My partner and I stayed two nights, and our only regret was that we didn’t take more time off. The room is very cute and rustic in the best possible ways. It has ample accommodations along with a woodsy lake charm. This property is literally right on the beach; we enjoyed a beach side fire both nights, and watched the sunrise on the beach with our coffee each morning. There is so much to do and see in Grand Marais and just up north to Grand Portage. We are already looking forward to coming back next year!

Beautiful Location

The description is very accurate. It has the basic amenities, but everything is well kept up. The private beach sitting area is such a nice little bonus. Plenty of towels, hand soap, and toilet paper were provided for our two night stay. Easily stocked enough for 6 or so days. Yes, you can hear people walking upstairs but nothing too disruptive and had no issues with that when turning in for the night around 8:30/9ish. The view and location is so worth it! This will definitely be our new spot whenever we visit Grand Marais, which we do at least once a year!

Really enjoyed the location on the wayer and right in town. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion for guests. Right back window doesn't lock. Great coffe and amazing towels. Very noisy with guests upstairs. Could not get the wall heater to work but used the baseboard heater just fine. Overall a very nice stay.

I would give this unit a 5 star rating if no one is in the upstairs room which we enjoyed one night. The other night we may as well have been sharing the room with the upstairs guest. It is a fun space but if you are noise sensitive I can't recommend.

Stellar location, walking distance to everything in town, including the lighthouse and Artist’s Point. Wake up to the crashing waves of Lake Superior and an amazing view. This was my 2nd stay and I hope to stay again!

Great location at the edge of town and right on artists point with its own little beach area. A bit confused with thinking it would be the upper room vs the lower, but cozy and comfortable. The floorboards from upper were a bit squeeky so some disruption but it was still a very pleasant stay. The shower felt good and the bed was pretty comfortable. We enjoyed walking through the town and relaxing on the beach listening to the waves roll in.

The location of this rental could not have been more perfect. So much to do within walking distance. The place is so much cuter than the photos in the listing. We had a really great time. The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is there were a few little issues. The building is 100 years old and there is another rental directly above. The floor is extremely creaky and you can hear the people above when they walk and/or talk. Unfortunately our upstairs neighbors did lots of walking at 6 am on a Saturday morning. The bed is extremely firm. There is only individually wrapped bar soap - no other toiletries. So, make sure you pack those items. The only trash is in the main living area next to the refrigerator. There is not a bathroom trash which is kind of an awkward if you should have sanitary products to throw away. There are 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths, and 2 towels - no extras. So, plan accordingly if you feel like you may need extra. Side note - the room does not contain a tv so pack some games. But, if you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay and are ok with the basics, this is a great location.
