About this property

Walk Anywhere in Grand Marais from This Charming Bungalow:

This charming bungalow is located near the Grand Marais harbor. Perfect location for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere near the Lake Superior Harbor and truly convenient walking access to all the restaurants, shops, and pubs of downtown.

Fresh interior with wood floors, a well-equipped kitchen, and a rainy-day room with Television (No cable, dish) for movies and old school gaming systems. Sun-filled three season porch facing the lake and deck out the front door for enjoying the cool Lake Superior Breezes. Second deck in the backyard with hammock and chairs for taking in the afternoon sun. Very clean and comfortable. Sleeps five comfortably with a queen, full, and twin bed.

The Harbor Home includes a grill, bikes, fishing rods, kayak and kayak cart- one strap attaches the cart to the kayak, and you can walk to the beach and be kayaking in a few minutes.

This is a great location for those looking for easy walking to downtown shops and restaurants, folk school, art colony, or as a quiet basecamp for those who enjoy the many outdoor opportunities within close proximity!

Great spot to enjoy your winter vacation. Take a short walk to the best sledding hill in the area. Ask about snowshoes (we have a couple sets we'd love to lend you) and Grand Marais' skating rink with skates to rent for a couple bucks. Twenty minutes from Lutsen Mountains and the best downhill skiing in the Midwest. Also, endless cross country ski trails and wilderness ski opportunities. Or enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the serene snow-covered landscape against the crashing winter of waves of Superior. This is a great spot to embrace winter, if you have questions about the area, please ask.

Sweet little house

We had a comfortable stay for our family of four and the house had everything we needed for a quiet long weekend. The furniture and beds are all comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed to cook. Internet was fast and stable and the neighborhood is quiet. A lovely time.

Such a sweet little bungalow and perfect location!

My two teenage kids and I recently stayed in this house and absolutely loved it! It was the perfect size for our little family and we loved being able to walk to The Angry Trout, Voyageur Brewing, and all the fun stuff in Grand Marais. Our hosts were super accommodating and responsive. The house was very clean and was surrounded with gorgeous foliage including bright orange poppies and fragrant lilac trees. There’s even a tiny waterfall in the creek behind the house. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Grand Marais Bungalow

My son and I stayed here while attending the North House Folk School. It’s a short walk to the school and downtown. It’s an older home but is very clean.

Harbor Home

We enjoyed Harbor Home and our time in Grand Marais. The house is cozy, the kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment, and it is a good base for exploring the area, including the Gunflint Trail.

THIS WAS AN AWESOME FIND...

This small home was perfect for our family. We were picking up the teen from Menogyn and perched here, we got to experience a bit of Grand Marais, the restaurants, the shore and the donuts! The space is cozy and comfortable and I'd happily stay again.

Great house and ideal location

House had everything I needed. Enjoyed the full-size shower and HOT water. Bed was comfortable. Liked the remodeled kitchen, and especially the table bathed in sunlight. This is a perfect place for a couple to stay! Just the right size for two! Loved being IN Grand Marais, rather than out of town. Highly recommend!

Loved Harbor House - fun and clever decor!

Really enjoyed our stay in this cozy, cute, and cleverly decorated house! Everyday we found features to marvel at - from the painted ship lap and correlated steel on the walls, the aqua blue velvet sofa, the fish themed pictures and more! The owners did a great job!👏🏻 Plus, it was within walking distance to restaurants, stores, galleries, and the lake. 👍🏻

Great place to stay to explore the Grand Marais area

Nicely decorated and clean. Only one suggestion, outside lighting. We had to meet our fishing charter at 6:00 AM. It's a good thing I brought a flash light or I would have tripped on the steps outside.

A very comfortable winter home with a perfect location.

Three of us stayed in the house. From the moment we opened the door, we liked the overall feel of the place. It was clean, everything worked as expected, and the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and utensils, as well as pots and pans. The owners are very friendly and respond quickly to questions. We will definitely look to see if this property is available when we visit Grand Marais in the future.

Wonderful place to stay!

My husband and I decided to take a weekend trip and this was the perfect home base. Right off the main drag, convenient, and homey. Very clean overall, and there was a comfy memory foam mattress in the non-bunk room. This house was more than enough space for a couple, and was nice to have a fridge for lunch/snacks and my husband was pleased to have coffee provided for the morning. Internet worked great, and we even watched a DVD in the TV room one night. Thanks for everything!

good location, but needs TLC and a SPRING CLEANING. Mild scents are used.

The location is ideal. It is directly across from the camping area and the docks. The neighborhood was quiet. We didn't hear traffic from the main road. It is easy to get around town walking. The photographs are not accurate. There were no privacy shades on several windows. (all of the kitchen windows, the porch windows, front windows in living room and the bathroom window didn't have shades- the bathroom window is up high though) The back door deadbolt lock off of the kitchen didn't work. The door knob lock worked. The little slide lock in the kitchen photograph didn't work. I did not appreciate the fact that I had to clean the bathroom tub for my family. It was beyond dirty. (the shower curtain was growing pink too.) The television room is inside a walk-in closet off the master bedroom. The gaming system was not hooked up and it was not worth the time to figure it out. We did not come to watch television and didn't see if that part worked. The bikes were not ready. The tires were not inflated properly. The tire pump provided didn't work. The front sprocket on one of the bikes is bent and the chain came off. One of the bikes was walked to town for air. We were told we could use the washer and dryer, however the washer and dryer were behind a locked door. The one fishing pole that was available was not ready to be used. It was not strung properly. FYI the mattresses are foam. I think things could have been better for $1600.00-5 day stay.

Great house, great hosts (not on-site), great communication. Quiet location…well during this time of the year during day time hours you will get traffic noise. 2 houses right off 61, but nothing crazy still very quiet, easy to find. With in walking distance to down-town. Trail access is just across 61. Great if you want to unplug for a few days. If you want to watch tv or stream movies bring a tv, depending on situation. Did not see a/c, but during our stay didn’t need it. Night-time in Grand Marais was dead silent, weekends may be louder, I can’t speak to that. Decorating was nicely done. Only used coffee maker, tea pot and some coffee cups in the kitchen. There is some coffee there, we donated a stack of filters as our at home uses a different style, but there was some already there, so plenty to go around. Bring your own sweetener and creamer and coffee if you are particular. We would definitely stay here again. It had everything we needed to enjoy our visit to Grand Marais. Nothing negative to say. Flowers and landscaping was very nice.

Great, but overpriced

We have always loved staying at this location. Our last stay was 2 years back and the price has doubled since then. We can't believe with the high price that a cleaning fee is still required after we wash the dishes and sweep the floor. This was our last stay. We love Grand Marais but will be looking for a more affordable venue.

As youngsters, we both frequently visited the Grand Marais area for Boundary Waters canoe trips. In our early twenties, after meeting in Alaska, we decided to spend a summer working in this area. That summer has turned into a decade and a half, we are now married and raising our three children on the North Shore. We've become attached to the mild weather, beautiful landscape, wonderful community, and varied outdoor opportunities this spot has to offer.

Why they chose this property

Great location for walking to town or down to the shoreline. Also a great base camp for those who enjoy visiting the impressive waterfalls, shoreline, and woods of the North. Freshly remodeled with all new furniture and beds. This Harbor Home features charming Sea Location, Location, Location! Walk anywhere in town!Superior decor, corrugated steel, ship-lap walls, and hardwood floors. Very cute, quaint, simple, and contemporary interior while staying true to it's Bungalow style. Close to Art Colony, Folk School, Library, and Brewery as well.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful porch with large windows looking toward Lake Superior, deck, and yard for grilling or hanging out while enjoying the Lake Superior breezes. Guests have really enjoyed using the kayak, bikes, and fishing rods!
