About this property

Fantastic House In Grand Marais! Walking Distance To Downtown!

NOTE: We have two other properties! One is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, within 1 mile of downtown. The Westside Getaway property is #2240069. The other is the Harbour View Getaway which is also a 3 bedrooms 2 bath property #3379024.


Our Grand Marais Getaway has been a vacation rental for 10 years, and is licensed with the State of Minnesota. It is a bright and spacious home just one block from beautiful Lake Superiorand downtown, in the "coolest small town in America", Grand Marais, MN.

The house sleeps 6-8 people in its three bedroom (2 queens, 1 double, and a couch with pull out bed that is another queen bed. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with a tub/shower, and the other has a shower stall.
We provide Wifi, and Hulu television. There is also a ping pong table in the lower room, which is 4 steps down from the main level. The lower room also has a couch with pull out bed, as well as a bathroom and reading nook. Enjoy a book from our library in our handcrafted twig chairs!
In the warmer months, spend some time in the small studio building nestled in the backyard. It is a great spot for yoga!
The Grand Marais Getaway is within walking distance to all of the downtown. There are many quaint shops, some spectacular restaurants, 2 local breweries, The North House Folk School, and the Grand Marais Art Colony.
For the more adventurous, there the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Lutsen Mountains, and tons of great hiking and mountain biking.
The Grand Marais Getaway is just what you are looking for....a Northwoods style home, near all of the amenities you could want.

My family had a great time here for our spring break in Grand Marais. House had everything we need, was an easy walk to town, and the kids loved the ping pong table!

Great Grand Marais Property!

We had a wonderful time! We love Grand Marais in the winter. This is a great location to be able to walk to shops and restaurants, while still having easy access to trails. We love the large table for playing games and, of course, the ping pong table is always a hit! Highly recommend the Getaway!

Grand Marais Getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The home was very well maintained and near the town center. We enjoy coming to Grand Marais each fall for hiking and relaxing. Will definitely choose to stay here again!

Wonderful property

The property is much more spacious than the pictures show. It’s cozy with great amenities. Walking distance to all Grand Marais has to offer. Would definitely book again if we come back to the area.

Great Getaway

This is a great property! It's spacious and comfortable and has all the "extras" that are needed for cooking, playing and keeping a busy family entertained. We hope to be back again sometime soon!

Wonderful Lodging in Grand Marais

The location could not be better. Easy walk into town & views of the water. This was perfect for our family needs & the teenagers loved the rec room space with the table tennis 🏓. I would highly recommend this rental.

We had a great time we felt comfortable, loved the space.Played Ping Pong and did two puzzles We did a lot of hiking and saw the Northern Lights( which we were thrilled about) and made good food and got great Tacos from the Hungry Hippie Tacos. A really fun family trip,!

Property was very clean, and had everything we needed for a short stay. We especially enjoyed the ping pong table, and a visiting kitty who checked on us every day. Nice outdoor spaces too, we had a bonfire one nite and it was very easy to do. Walkable to downtown and the harbor.

Grand Marais in March

My wife, our dog, and I all enjoyed our stay in this VRBO. When you want to rent some place where it checks all the boxes then go here. Clean, comfortable and with attention to detail - this place had it all. We especially loved having some entertaining games of ping pong! Our thanks to Nancy and Matt!!

Great place to stay

Lots of room. Close to downtown and all the activities there. We were a little disappointed that the TV had no hookup to any cable network where we could see certain Olympic events. If it weren't for our grandson having a laptop along, we would have missed our favorite Olympic events.

A Superior Time in Grand Marais

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, grandpup, and I had a fantastic time at this picture perfect cabin! The hosts have clearly put a lot of time and thought into making this an ideal vacation rental, with comfortable bedding, plenty of pillows, lots of cook and dining ware, and multiple types of entertainment! The location couldn't have been better--a stone's throw away from all the restaurants and the lake! We will certainly be back!

Grand getaway

The house worked very well for our family. Four adults and 2 children (3 and 1 year old). It was a cold weekend but the house was nice and cozy. Very close to North House where 2 of us were taking a class. Would stay again.

Quick Ski Trip

This VRBO is great. It is our second stay and it would be our first choice if we come back to the area. Kids love the ping pong table. The house is cozy and inviting. The amenities are great and the house functions perfectly for a family. Could not even suggest an improvement in all fairness! Well done!

Everything we Needed

Such a beautiful cabin that perfectly accommodates our family of 4 and our dog. The cabin is clean and has everything that we need, even for the 2 little kids. It is within walking distance of everything in town so we could walk back and forth into town multiple times a day without a problem. Nancy is so easy to communicate with and a great hostess. Grand Marias is our favorite place to be and we will be back soon!

We hope to return

We absolutely loved this property. It had everything we needed, was very clean, and the location was perfect. Only a block and a half from 61, it was easy to walk anywhere we needed to go. The fisherman in our group did not have far to go for great places to Steelhead as well. We found all of the furniture to be very comfortable and enjoyed meals out on the back shed/patio. It was also nice to find a fire pit there even though we didn’t get a chance to use it. They had a really nice variety of games, puzzles, and DVDs for adults and children. We definitely hope to stay here again.
