Get lost in your own world at this wonderful haven and latch onto some peace and quiet at this lovely waterfront/lakeside cabin in the woods. Nestled among the cedars at the end of a peninsula, you'll appreciate the privacy and the beautiful lakeshore, not to mention the cozy cabin. There is a queen bed and a twin bed in the sleeping loft and a comfy queen bed on the main floor. Enjoy the wood stove, an open kitchen/dining area and a bathroom/laundry with a shower. (Please note that guests must provide their own locally sourced/purchased firewood. It's available at several gas stations nearby.) The massive front deck is great for grilling out, relaxing and simply watching the world go by. Pack up your groceries, your beverages your charcoal and your gear and settle in. All linens, dishes, toiletries, paper towels, cooking utensils, etc. are provided.
You'll also enjoy the proximity to Grand Marais, Lutsen, the Superior Hiking Trail, cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails and Pike Lake itself. Go out and explore and see what there is to offer in this special place we call the North Shore!

Great place to stay!

This was a great stay. The view of the lake and seclusion of the woods was amazing. The cabin was clean and well-kept. Easy access to Grand Marais. The host is very responsive and the check in was simple. Greatly enjoyed our trip!

Thanksgiving Getaway

Wonderful location, beautiful cabin. I absolutely fell in love with the calmness of the surrounding lake and the wintery forest. Kitchen was fully stoked with everything we needed. The only complaints - matress was not very comfortable and there were spider webs in the corners.

Beautiful Fall Retreat

Peaceful and relaxing. We love the indoor wood stove for cozy morning reading as well as the large deck for the same with coffee. Great Lake and star views from the outdoor fire pit. The sunsets are glorious! We are repeat guests.

We didnt want to leave!

We fell in love instantly with this place. Has everything we could ever want or need. Any time we look to come back up to the area we want to stay there! Also, that wood stove is absolutely wonderful. I truly can't say enough good things! We'd buy it if we could lol.

Wonderful property

My husband and I loved our stay at the Pike Lake getaway in Grand Marais. The lodging was comfortable and clean and the lake fishing was great. A lovely secluded spot that was also very close to lots of parks and hiking.

Winter Wonderland

Even though there was a lack of snow… we enjoyed the area for hiking and great restaurants! We loved playing games and the cozy fires at night. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable! Hope to come back and enjoy some fishing in the summer!

Beautiful Secluded Location

We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, fishing from the dock, and sitting by the fire. This cabin was exactly what we were expecting. It was like a beautiful private campground with the benefit of a comfortable cabin. Completely relaxing and lovely.

The end of the road

We loved the cabin. The lake is beautiful, great sun-ups, sundowns and stars. It could have been cleaner, floors and countertops especially. But, we'd go back.

Cozy, Peaceful and Private Cabin

This is our third year visiting and we will be back next year. We love Pike Lake, the large sunny deck, bonfires near the lake and the inside wood burning stove. The host is amazing and quickly answers our questions. Close to Grand Marais, state parks for hiking and leaf viewing and beautiful downtown Grand Marais. Favorite restaurants are The Angry Trout, My Sisters Place and Northshore winery for music, wine and great company on Sunday afternoon.

Extremely quiet and peaceful

I specifically looked into this place for its lake access, accessibility to our favorite SHT trails and stream access for trout fishing. Although the amount of rain made streams hard to access the fishing off the dock was remarkable. 2 of our highlights involved animal sightings. One early evening we spotted a black bear crossing the road. On another evening we witnessed an otter swim up on the dock and was eating crawfish. That amazing critter was bouncing all around the dock area and back yard. Priceless!!

Great Stay

It was a great stay! It was very buggy but it is in the middle of the woods so that is expected. Our only issue was that the fireplace door was left open along with the chute leading outside, so there were A LOT of mosquitoes inside the home because of this. We spent most of the weekend that we were at the home killing mosquitoes. There were also two wasps that were inside the house when we arrived

Winter Getaway

My friend and I needed a winter getaway and I hadn't been to Grand Marais for years. This was the private, woodsy setting I was looking for. The lake was frozen, but would be lovely in the summer. Thinking about returning with my canoe! This is a weird winter. No usable snow for skiing, hiking; so we hiked with our Yak Trax and it was great exercise. The cabin is cozy with a good working wood stove. Beds were comfy and we had a great kitchen to cook in. I brought my service dog and she loved the woods and enjoyed guarding the front porch. Thanks for making this lovely property available.

Peaceful Cabin on Norhshore

Very clean and well appointed cabin. We loved sitting on our dock overlooking Pike Lake watching the sunset, listening to loons and basking in the fresh Autumn air. Nearby Grand Marais is a small, picturesque and bustling town set on the shore of Lake Superior. We found excellent food, good shopping and a beautiful painting from a local artist to take home. Our main activity was walking and hiking and we had many trails, beaches and parks to choose from. The cabin was farther than we expected from the main highway about 15-20 minutes from the main highway, and we grew to love it due to the peace and quiet as well as the wonderful star watching. The host was also very gracious. We will return.

Very clean but due for little yard maintenance.

Inside of cabin was very clean & having a washer/ dryer was nice. One bathroom worked for our group but a full length (or larger) mirror would be handy. Fishing was good. Location and lake were exactly what we wanted but exterior of property itself could use a little upkeep. Such as, tree trimming on the drive in so branches dont drag across vehicles. The yard area / firepit is also overgrown now.

Everything was lovely except the cleaning crew related that we had an “abundance “ of dog hair left behind. We had no dog with us and now I have bad feelings from being accused of lying about it.

Cozy Retreat

The cabin and property are beautiful and so cozy. I traveled solo with my dog but it's a great place for couples or a small family too. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and appliances you'd need to cook onsite. The living room area is cozy and couches are comfy. I wish the bed was comfier but not too bad. There was so much snow and I did have to shovel a pathway to get in the cabin, which was unexpected, but the area was well plowed and otherwise easy to get into. The area is so lovely and peaceful. I highly recommend it! I'd love to return in the warmer months to enjoy the lake. Communication with Linda beforehand and while I was there was great, and I had all the info I needed for my stay.

Fantastic property!

I was looking for a nice, comfortable and quiet place in the woods and on a lake to allow me to decompress from an extremely stressful job. This cabin knocked it out of the park. It’s beautiful - inside and out - and has everything one might need, including a great kitchen with a large and very nice gas range and oven, very comfortable couch and live seat in the living room, large windows with great views and natural light, a wonderful, clean bathroom with a great shower. Washer and dryer. It’s very clean and comfortable. And it was perfectly quiet. Admittedly, I was there in early February, but it’s the last cabin on a side road along a peninsula that ends at the long entrance to this cabin and is not visible from the road. The lake is a short distance from the cabin, but nicely protected by trees that still allow one to see the lake. Finally, Linda, the property manager, couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.
