About this property

Wander Anchor Cove sleeps 8, w/Hot tub, 3 Bedrooms

Wander Anchor Cove is a modern concrete, glass, and steel home with floor-to-ceiling windows set on 5.25 acres overlooking our own private cove with over 1,800 feet of ocean frontage. This incredible coastal escape overlooks rock formations and islands where you can enjoy the sunset and whale-watching views year-round from the 6-person hot tub, or permanent bench on the bluff top.

CELL SERVICE
While the house has fast WiFi, cell phone service is limited in this area of Gualala. We recommend taking note of the WiFi password and access code beforehand, which is available on the “Trips” tab in the Wander app. Cell network strength can vary by topology, time of day, weather, and whether you’re located inside or outside of a vehicle or house.

NO AC
Many homes in this climate are built without air conditioning. We provide portable fans that can be used to stay cool and comfortable.

SAFETY
For safety reasons, the roof is strictly off-limits to guests. Unauthorized access is prohibited.

Since tides affect swimming, fishing, and beachcombing, it’s always best to check the tide schedule before heading out.

CLIFFS
Perched on stunning 40-50 ft cliffs, the views are spectacular but it is dangerous for kids or pets left unattended. The cliffs are also home to a family of foxes. They are nocturnal, but please take caution and be aware that though we try to keep the area clean, they may leave waste.

The ocean views of our rugged coast were magnificent. The house was well appointed with the exception of the furniture being much too small making it challenging getting up. There just was nowhere to get comfortable including the outdoor sofa which was also too low to the ground. The technology of having instructions via cell phone was often complicated and lengthy. I found myself trying to resolve issues throughout the stay. Many things just didn't work i.e. Nepresso machine, ice maker, beds, T.V. and initial unlocking door upon arrival. This made us "baby boomers" confused and frustrated. I might suggest a written manual. Other than that, the house was beautifully kept, views extraordinary and customer service very good. We enjoyed lovely sunsets.

Perfect getaway

Beautiful location and property. Spent my birthday here and didn’t want to leave. This was my first wander experience and will definitely be exploring more of what wander has to offer.

Superb Ocean Stay

We had a fantastic stay for 3 nights and could easily have stayed longer. We went in February and It rained for a day and a half, but it did not dampen our vacation. The surrounding area is beautiful and quiet. You are either looking at trees or the ocean. The house has huge sliding glass doors with ocean views in the main rooms and from the bedrooms. The house was spacious and mostly comfortable. Seating was a little uncomfortable. We are in our 60's, and although we could get up from the low chairs, some people may have a hard time. We brought food to cook and enjoyed using the large stove and storing items in a huge refrigerator/freezer. We did read another review that stated they did not have enough bowls, so we brought our own and are glad we did. The dumbbells are nice, but a weight bench would be useful. We used the large hot tub overlooking the ocean twice a day, meditative. We saw a couple of whale spouts from the deck. The washer and dryer were great. We brought the dogs to Gualala Point Regional State Park for a walk 2 of the days; it's 5-10 min, from the house and is a very nice park. Just be sure to read the warning signs about the backwash waves, etc. There were snacks on the table and water and some cold drinks in the refrigerator for us. The Breville Nepresso coffee machine made great coffee. I spoiled myself using it. We would love to go back and stay again.

Fantastic house with an amazing view !!!!

We were a family of 6, celebrating our mother's 90th birthday. This place exceeded all expectations !!! It was super comfortable, we stayed 3 nights and other than short day hikes and going to the market, we were at the house - playing games, sharing memories, using the hot tub and cooking. LOVED the Nespresso coffee system. The kitchen appears new and could use the following; cereal bowls, pot holders, mixing bowls, and a grater. I would HIGHLY recommend this house, despite the above mentioned items - it has everything, even a Tesla!!!

Gualala house

To summarize the property is absolutely incredible and beautiful. The staff works through Wander. They did a fabulous job with their concierge service answering any of our questions and concerns. This house is truly a gem with some of the most stunning views we have seen of the Sonoma coast. We would definitely come back .
