Communication with host was wonderful and the check in and out was so easy! Wonderful neighborhood; safe, clean and family friendly. It was easy to navigate and close to all of the areas we needed since we were in town for our daughter’s wedding. The only negative was that the kitchen floor had something spilled on it and I was able to clean it. The front bed room had a full size bed not queen size. This was ok for us as only one person was using that room but may be tight if set up for two.Overall a very nice place to stay, I would stay here again when in town visiting!
The overall experience my family and I had in this apartment was excellent. The location and pictures referenced in the cite was accurate. Something to keep in mind if visiting during the week days. The majority of parking in the area requires a permit between the hrs of 7am to 8:30 pm. The apartment does not provide one but it was no issue for me since I stayed over the weekend.
Very pleased with the neighborhood, and the apartment is beautiful. Just like the photos. Easy check in/Out process. Finally, the communication was very responsive. Great place to stay!!
This home was perfect for exploring DC with our family of 4 during the Thanksgiving holiday. We found the metro was too far to be convenient, but used the bus, Uber and lots of walking to get around. It was nice to have 3 bedrooms. The house was clean and warm, the beds comfortable. You could hear the folks upstairs but it wasn't at all a bother. The neighborhood was charming. Like other reviews mentioned the kitchen supplies were basic. My only request is I would have liked a "users guide" to the immediate area... Recommendations of what grocery store to go to, closest coffee shop, favorite restaurants etc. One side of the neighborhood is definitely nicer than the other, and with a short amount of time, it's nice to have a little guidance. It felt a bit impersonal as we had no contact with the host at all. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our trip very much and would recommend this listing.
We booked this stay a few months in advance and were so excited for our vacation. This location was close enough for us to do everything we planned. We did take ride share into town as we didn’t want to walk or drive. The check in was easy and as described. The unit was very clean and we had plenty of space.
It is a lower level unit and there was some late night noise that woke us up a couple of nights.
I would have liked to have a few more kitchen amenities (spatula, cooking sheet and strainer) to help when we made meals.
Overall, it worked prefect for us and would stay again.
Pros: Nice, family neighboorhood close to a bus stop. It is a basement apartment which is spacious and bright and doesnt feel as if your in a basement (does have windows and a patio). There are stairs to go up and down w a rail. Owner responded quickly to any messages. Nice step in shower (one in our party was over 80).
Cons: We were supossed to get the check in info the day before our arrival. At around 5pm the day before our arrival I had to message bc we still had not recieved info. We had decided to cook breakfast in the VRBO along w 2 suppers. When we started breakfast our first morning noticed there was no sheet pan for the oven, asked the owner and said no, sorry they dont have one. Did not even offer to have one delivered etc. Kitchen is also lacking a good spatchula (they were wooden) cuttingboard, & strainer which cooking spaghetti and a salad are difficult without these items. The ice maker did not work either. To us these are staple kitchen items which were lacking. It also said hairdryer included, however there was only 1 (and 2 bathrooms) so we were constantly going back and forth. The exhaust fans didnt work on either bathroom. On our 3rd evening of being in the rental we finally recieved the "house rules" which was a bit late by that point. On our last morning we were thankfully up and trying to wrap up the last of packing right after 8am when the housekeeper unlocked the door ready start cleaning; checkout is not till 11. Owner was contacted.
Our stay was great. Abel was very accommodating and responsive! We had everything we needed. It was a bit farther from all the things we wanted to do than we anticipated, and Ubers are not cheap, but that was our mistake. Everything in the place was good though.
We had the basement apartment. It was very clean. There were plenty of cooking utensils and dishes for everyday use. Nice appliances. The beds and bathrooms were nice. Lots of closet space in the master bedroom! We had zero problems checking in or out. We parked once and left the car all week bc the metro was so easily accessible. The neighborhood felt safe. When we make it to DC again, I'd choose to stay here! Thank you for having us.
This was a great 3 bedroom in DC. Hard to find for a family but it was fantastic since both our teens had their own room. Very new and comfortable.
A bit of a walk to a metro but the bus was amazing and just a few blocks. You can park on the weekends on the street which was helpful when we got a car for a day.
Host was great and incredibly responsive.
The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because it's first floor and you can hear people walking on the floors above you but it's a historic part of Georgetown so that's to be expected.
If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs and you'll be fine. Otherwise, fantastic place!
