Savanna Institute is a nonprofit laying the groundwork for widespread agroforestry in the Midwest. We are a team of 50 spread out throughout the Midwest region with concentrations in Spring Green and Madison, WI and Champaign Urbana, IL. We are passionate about trees, perennials, farming, local foods, grazing animals and supporting our local communities.
Why they chose this property
Elderflower Retreat at Hillside Pastures is a gorgeous farm with sweeping views, grazing cattle in silvopasture, oak savannas, creeks and more. We fell in love the with natural beauty of the landscape and want to share it with others. We've hosted poetry readings, perennial dinners with guest chefs, artist in residences and more.
What makes this property unique
The Wyoming Valley is a unique and special place. Visitors are wowed by the bucolic landscape with rolling hills, ridges, rivers and Oak Savannas. We are nestled in the heart of Wisconsin's Driftless Region-a biologically and ecologically unique landscape where glaciers did not scrape the landscape flat, like it did the surrounding plains. Join us and experience this gorgeous environment.
