Turned away at the door

When we arrived the owner answered the door. She said she had cancelled the reservation. I had received confirmation from VRBO that everything was a go. We ended up with nowhere to sleep two+ hours from home. Reimbursement has not appeared yet.

Hi Laureen; your booking was immediately cancelled due to ongoing delays in construction; which you acknowledged that you had not seen for some reason; you have been given a full refund. The problem lies I believe in the lack of human interaction in the VRBO booking site. Once again; so sorry that this happened to you.

There is pros and cons for the property. Its in a good location, close to the beach. Close to food and stores. Has enough space for 6 people amd a kitchen full of dishes to utilize. Upon arrival, the bedding was dirty in 1 room. Sand in the sheets, amd the blanket had white stuff on it. Which is just gross. A couple windows have mildew in them. I wouldnt have noticed, but the house got super hot and humid and we had to open windows. The fan for the house only worked for heat. There was only 1 fan to use between 3 rooms. There was about 100 baby spiders crawling all over the master bedroom inside thw towels, toilet paper, and falling onto us. We had to shut the door and block the cracks for them to disperse. The washer requires to be ran twice to get anything clean off kids clothing. The carpet and floors were very sandy upon arrival and I had to clean it up to walk comfortably. The garage was too short to fit my buick SUV and truck, and to narrow for the width with the stuff in the garage. so we couldn't park both in driveway. The garbage was full upon arrival. So for 3 days we couldn't take out trash, and by the 3rd day trash was picked up and re filled right away and we still had 5 days to go. So we couldn't fit it all in because we couldn't utilize it the 8 days that I had 6 people staying. We had a lot of garbage for 8 days. 6 people and 3 are kids who require a lot of stuff. If it was empty at arrival this issue would not exist.
