This rental is tiny and in a run down neighborhood. The worst part of the rental is the soaking tub in which there is a shower. It is dangerous to get in and out of the shower and the floor was flooded. The shower curtain was mostly ineffective. There was very little storage in the kitchen and bathroom. There was only one lamp for each bed. The driveway is long and narrow. It is not lit, so backing down the driveway is challenging after dark. We ended up leaving early and finding a better rental. Stay elsewhere if you have a choice.

There is a strange message on the fridge that says a 4 rating is bad because it means there are lots of things to fix. Don't appreciate being pressed to give a 5. The bathtub/shower set up isn't convenient because of the circular curtain it is almost impossible to keep water off the floor when you shower. Fortunately there were extra towels so we could mop up the swamp. The hot tub was nice but we all agreed it had an unusual aroma, like some sort of perfume had been added to the water, or maybe Phoenix Or water just smells like that?Otherwise it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay.

River house on the Rouge

We originally had reserved the house in Phoenix. Due to a maintenance issue we were offered the house in Gold Hill. Our experience was lovely. We appreciate the way it was handled and will definitely use again!!

Just a little more attention to detail

First, let me say the house was great. Very comfortable, and the hot tub was a wonderful way to start my stay after a long drive. I did have a handful of minor issues with my stay though. None were show stoppers, and I would probably stay here again if they were addressed:1. The lock was not programmed for my early arrival. I had to call the host company to have someone let me I. He said it hadn't been programmed for me at all he also said I couldn't leave for 15-20 minutes to make sure the code took and I could get in again. I would have expected a refund of the early check-in fee, but that was not offered.2. There was a candy wrapper in the trash can in the kitchen. Not major, but not what I would expect if a place is fully cleaned.3. Two of the towels in the bathroom were dirty or stained. Again, not major... I just moved into the third towel. 4. The drip coffee maker didn't work. Luckily I found the teapot so did a pour over. I did LOVE having whole beans and a grinder though. Nice touch!!5. Two of the coffee cups were on the shelf unwashed. There is honey or sugar in them. One was stuck to the shelf. Again, I want to stress that this is a decent property in a good location. Just a little more attention to detail would make it perfect.

The home has a very cool retro vibe and was extremely comfortable. It provided easy access to all of the activities we had in Ashford, Talent and Medford area. We loved the hot tub after a long day of hiking and exploring and having a large laundry room to access the home so we didn't drip water from wet suits on the wood floors and to do laundry was a plus. We were traveling without our dog this trip but she would have loved the yard. A few suggestions to improve stay would be a few curtains/shades around or above the hot tub to block the blazing sun during the day (I had to use an umbrella in the hot tub LOL), add some hooks on the posts by hot tub to keep towels clean and by the Laundry room back door to hang wet towels; and finally, a second bin in the kitchen for recycling. We definitely will stay again-So happy we found this place!
