This property was completely charming and exactly as pictured. Nearby houses were almost entirely out of sight, which added to the appeal. It was just what I was looking for: a secluded stay in the forest. My boyfriend and I could genuinely picture ourselves living here, which added to the whimsy of our stay.I loved the furnishings and the mid-century modern style of the interior. The home was beautifully appointed, cozy, and had everything we needed. The deck and patio furniture were amazing too. I found that many properties in the area had either great indoor space OR great outdoor space, but this one nailed both (and at a totally reasonable price!). The record player was an awesome, charming vintage touch, and there’s an enchanting hike right on the property with amazing views of the rolling hills around it.The host was super responsive and helpful, and check out was simple with no convoluted rules. My only regret is that we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the hot tub!Highly recommend this stay for anyone wanting a peaceful retreat surrounded by trees.
This was our first family trip to California and this house and location did not disappoint. The view was amazing, the house was beautiful and everyone fell in love with it.
Perfect place for a mountain getaway, the house was clean and had everything we needed. The views of sunrise and sunset were gorgeous, would definitely recommend!
Wow, where to even begin... Minna was so wonderful at communicating. Then when we arrived the place was so much more than i could've imagined! The I ictures dont do it justice. The decor is stunning and all of the appliances, bedding, furniture, hot tub, accommodations are top notch. No expense was spared in designing this place. Then the "yard"... goodness. You dont need to leave the property to have an amazing hike (steep, but beautiful) with some groomed trails and streams on both sides. The property bumps against yhe national forest and you could just walk forever. This stay was serene and beautiful and cozy. I never left the entire stay. There was no need. Great way to unwind from the fast pace of life outside this mountain sanctuary.
We got away from the city with our 3 boys (10-16) for 4 days. We loved the view and comfortable beautifully decorated modern cabin. The beds were excellent after long hikes in the area. We cooked all our meals and appreciated the big stove and fridge. We heard wild turkeys in the canyon below but didn’t see them. The filter light on the hot tub was flashing which made us a little uneasy and the deck hadn’t been prepped for us but we still enjoyed our stay.in this awesome cabin.
The cabin exceeded all expectations. I’ve never stayed in any rental property that was so well appointed. Literally everything you could ever want or need was at your fingertips, from all possible kitchen supplies, great toiletry assortment, tons of wood for the fire, games, books, movies, record player with vintage vinyl, and every conceivable streaming and pay channel. The cabin is decorated beautifully and truly is in a secluded location. A gate provides security to the property, which is huge. The hot tub was wonderful and there are many areas to sit on multiple decks. We had a small hiccup in the beginning, which Minna addressed right away. She was very responsive and helpful and made everything perfect for us. We highly recommend this cabin and will stay again!
It is a rarity to have a place exactly, if not better, than advertised. Minna’s place was beautiful…beautiful setting in the woods, beautiful property, beautiful deck overlooking an incredible view, beautiful interior decorated to the nines!
All of the appliances and special touches are high quality which makes it feel and function like home. The furniture, including couches and mattress, were very comfortable.
We enjoyed a fire in the wood burning stove with great cups of espresso. Not sure if the sunrise or the sunset was more incredible, or perhaps the big starry sky in the hot tub after dark.
We had a little hiccup with our check in process with the keypad on the door but called Minna and it was an easy fix within minutes. Any questions I had were responded to very quickly.
There are a ton of hikes within just a few minutes of the house. We enjoyed donuts and coffee in Idyllwild after a lovely 5 mile hike out of Humber Park. We couldn’t have enjoyed our 4 day stay anymore. Highly recommend this property and hostess!
I was looking for a quiet place to get away with my wife and did this property deliver. I would do a pros/cons list for you but really there are almost only pros.First, it is actually as nice as the pictures make it look. It is very well decorated, not your typical cabin in the mountains. It is updated and has a retro vibe with homey touches that really work well together. The patio space is large, it wraps around most of the cabin. There are lots of trees so you can't really see any neighboring cabins. The beds were very comfortable; coupled with the quiet made sleep great! It has windows give you a great view of the forest and sunset. There are windows all around, other than the one floor to ceiling wall side, that let you drink in the surrounding. The extremely nice kitchen was very functional and well stocked. We enjoyed having our meals in an area that had such amazing view. The hot tub was nice but the stair are a little steep, so if you have any mobility problems that could be a slight issue. You could go the long way around and use the hill, it would be less steep. We tried to explore the trails on the property, which also have some pretty steep parts, but there were a lot of bugs out. We went in the summer, so I can't comment on other times of the year, but I wish I had brought some sort of bug spray. That would be my only negative to this property.I also found myself in love with the town of Iydllwild. I highly recommend a stay!
