Steps to the Sand-Upscale Beach Cottage

Mission Beach is San Diego’s lively take on the classic boardwalk beach town with nearly two miles of oceanfront boardwalk, numerous rental shops and Belmont Park, a boardwalk amusement park, featuring the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, originally built in 1925 but since restored, the Beach House Grill, miniature golf, bumper cars, rock climbing and an arcade.

There are plenty of bars in Mission Beach and adjacent Pacific Beach, and a hot nightlife scene for the young at heart.

There are also a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy including biking, beach volleyball, boogie boarding, surfing, whale watching, sport fishing and scuba diving.

A short walk across Mission Beach’s main thoroughfare leads you to the calm waters of Mission Bay, home to SeaWorld San Diego and the largest aquatic park of its kind, surrounded by grassy parks, playgrounds, picnic tables and miles of paved sidewalks. Rent a sailboat, take a leisurely bayside bike ride, or watch the kids play in this one-of-a-kind oasis.

The location was perfect! Short distance to both the Oceanside and Bayside. Nice, well maintained place. We enjoyed the beach chairs and towels out on the beach as we watched the AMAZING sunsets!! Great place we would come again!

We really enjoyed staying at this cottage and just steps from the beach, what a plus!!We found it clean and had all the basics to keep the two of us comfortable for our 3 day stay. We absolutely LOVED the rain shower head, so much so, we'll be getting one!!And we really enjoyed having a private front yard, to sit and enjoy a morning coffee or evening beverage! A lovely space for sure.Beach chairs and an umbrella were available (thank goodness) and having a laundry available at no extra charge was appreciated!Parking in that area is a bit tight, so I'm glad we brought our smaller car!And the staff was quick to respond to any question we had.Thanks for a great stay!

This was the perfect little getaway spot! The home was spotless, recently remodeled, and had everything we needed. The location is amazingly, just steps from the boardwalk and within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Having parking included was a huge bonus and made everything so much easier. We’d definitely stay here again!

Perfect little cottage

Nice clean place with everything you need. Lovely little monarchs would greet me everyday. Even some nice beach chairs and towels! Easy access to beach and boardwalk with good restaurants within walking distance. Hope to come back next summer!

Cozy Cottage Stay

We had a lovely time staying at the Steps to the Sand-Upscale Beach Cottage. The hosts were very responsive and made the check in/check out process a breeze! The location is very close to the beach. Extremely walkable neighborhood to local restaurants, coffee shops, and bars! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back next time we are in the area. Highly recommend!

Perfect place for a couple!! The beach is steps away and within walking distance to coffee and food. We especially enjoyed Molly’s and The Olive Oven!!We rented a car and found downtown areas easy to navigate. Lots of pretty drives to different beaches and the coast line!
