The house and location were beautiful and there were spaces to spread out or be together. The beds were so comfortable and the screen porch was perfect for summer nights.
The home accommodations were perfect for our group. We enjoyed easy beach access. The kitchen and grills provided everything but food for our diverse age group.
Would return to this beautiful home in a heartbeat!
Our family enjoyed a week at this beautiful property during the week leading up to my daughter’s wedding. The house is incredibly well equipped, spotless, comfortable, beautifully decorated, landscaped, and in a prime location. The house is a five minute walk from the beach and a short drive to Portland.
A clever blending of historic and new features makes this beautiful house a very comfortable and social place to gather with family and friends. A short drive to the grocery store as well as Winslow Homer's bayside studio; beautiful garden; exotic barn; walk to beach; all wonderful. The owner clearly cares for her property with pride and concern for details.
We loved the house. We had two babies with us and enough space for everyone to have some privacy. Close to the beach. Everything was as advertised. Bought lobster and pie from a lovely neighbour. Thank you!

A true gem
Pam's home is an incredible place for a family vacation on the shores of Maine. A comfortable home, built for relaxation. Just steps from the ocean. Friendly neighbors, including a very conveniently located Lobstah fisherman doors away. If you are looking for the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the summer, this is it!

So happy you could enjoy summer memories in our home!
Our group enjoyed a very comfortable stay with plenty of space for seven adults and two toddlers. The proximity to Ferry beach and easy walk was wonderful and we enjoyed warm weather with highs in the 80s. The mini split ACs in the loft bedrooms and kitchen, as well as multiple ceiling fans, kept things cool. At the house we enjoyed the fire pit, screened in porch, and outdoor shower. The kitchen was very well equipped and the extra full fridge/freezer in the barn came in handy. The surrounding area offered plenty of scenic vistas and it was nice to be so close to Portland!
House was plenty big with 7 bdrms 4 full bathrms a huge kitchen . Great yard and barn for yard games . Gathering areas were a bit small for us all to be together . They had many beautiful puzzles to work on and we did . I needed a full length mirror to see our dresses for a nice night out and they did not have one. Host was very responsive and helpful . Had the best lobster dinner ordered from the neighbor 2 houses down our last night . We were 7 adults and drove up at different times the parking was tight but we managed to get 4 small suvs in the driveway .

Wonderful house with a short walk to two beautiful beaches. Clean house with a nicely stocked kitchen. We loved the screened in porch and playing corn hole in the grassy yard. The bedrooms were comfortable and able to accomodate all 10 of us (3 couples, and 4 single people) and there were adequate numbers of showers and bathrooms to accomodate our crew. The beaches were wonderful! There are only 2 things I'd knock the property for: The living room/tv area is smaller with not enough room for everyone to watch a show comfortably (5 people max). Also, there is really only parking for 2 cars in the designated area. However, Pam did allow us to park our 3rd vehicle on the grass in the side yard. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and a great family vacation. I would book it again in the future.
This property is simply amazing in all respects!!! It served as the accommodations for extended family for a Labor Day wedding on Prouts Neck at the Black Point Inn. The location is second to none - literally on the golf course and on the beach. The home is immaculate and spacious, magically blending old and new. The outdoor space, including a barn set up as a playroom is such a bonus! The owners were perfect to deal with and made our family feel welcome and well cared for. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!!!
If peacefulness is what you seek, this is a lovely spot. Great beach area for kids. Close to Portland, but far enough away. Nice neighborhood. Truly a great Maine experience.
The house was beautiful and exceptionally clean. Pam was great to work with and Judy the cleaner/woman of all trades was great as well. The neighborhood was friendly and it was great to walk to Ferry beach. We didn’t go to Scarborough beach as neighborhood roads have no trespassing signs and it would have cost us 70 per day for the whole family to enter through the main entrance. It was a short drive to Higgins beach which we loved. The only downfall is we didn’t know there had been construction from the time we rented to our stay and there was no longer parking for three or four cars as we had asked and the kitchen construction was not yet complete.
The property is very well described in the listing. It was very clean , nicely appointed and was especially spacious for our siblings reunion. Just a short walk to the beach. Had a great stay!
Lovely beach house and area. Lots of choices for outside fun, ferry beach great for young kids was easy walk and Scarborough beach about a ten minute walk was great for swimming and body surfing. House is very eclectic and loved all the maps but know that not air conditioned so when the 90 degree weather hit it was awfully warm even with their plentiful fans! Well stocked kitchen but bring your coffee bean grinder if you are used to grinding your own beans. When We realized only 3 wine glasses in stock and let Pam the owner know we had 12 new ones delivered the next day! Very responsive. Love Judy who lives down the street and cleans the house and makes the best pies and jellies and in the same house as the lobsters guy who we we used for two meals as he will also cook and so close and lovely. Enjoy!!
We stayed at this home the week prior to our son’s wedding. The house was perfect for three generations of adults. The home itself was perfectly appointed. The kitchen and baths were all tastefully decorated and the huge living spaces gave everyone a place to spread out. Our favorite spots were the front porch and the barn. We enjoyed the fire pit and playing darts.
The beach is a short walk from the property. It is a very private location. We enjoyed our stay and have all agreed we would like to go back again.
This was our first visit to Scarborough. Absolutely beautiful location. House is just a few steps to Ferry Beach, with short walks or drives to restaurants, larger beach, and bike path.
My daughter (who lives in the south) flew up For a few days, which was a big treat. Our close friends came, and our grand-daughter and her boyfriend were here as well. It was wonderful to have us all together. The house is spacious, with a very well-equipped kitchen. The porch is wonderful for your early morning coffee, and the barn and fire pit were an added bonus. It was wonderful!!! We would definitely plan another trip. Love this home.
Thank you Pam 🙂
4 girlfriends all met for a weekend and the house was great! Well stocked and lots of room. We were there in the winter and the heater was slow to warm but just wrapped up in blankets for the evening. Good access to Portland and the beach with the best view of sunset is just down the road
There were three generations of us and we had a great time. The house was wonderful. We all loved it and would love to stay there again sometime. We will be recommending it to our friends and relatives.

About the host

We are originally from Texas, but have made our way to New England and love it. Our other home is in Rhode Island. I renovate old homes and this one was such a challenge I had to take it on! We filled 37 dumpters with 'stuff' and re-created a New England jem.
Why they chose this property
After visiting The Blackpoint Inn in Prouts I was hooked. So peaceful, with two of the most amazing beaches anywhere. It only takes me a couple hours to get here from my home. There is a spectacular cliff walk and you can ride your bike all around. You feel as if you are worlds away from any hussle and bussle, yet unbelievable food, antiques and shopping are only minutes away. I love to eat and antique!
What makes this property unique
The property has many special featues, my favorite is the barn. You are unable to sleep there but can slide open the barn doors and dine, feeling like you stepped back into history. Sit on the front porch and enjoy your morning coffee or play horseshoes on the expansive lawn.
