Tarpon getaway is located at the beautiful Crystal Beach area of Destin, just steps away from the white sand and emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Kick off your shoes, grab a drink and cook your own fish and shrimp. Three TVs available to watch whatever you and the kids want. Shopping, movies, restaurants and the Destin Harbor all close to the cottage. Master bedroom with king and queen beds, TV and bathroom. Twin beds in back bedroom with TV, adjoining laundry and bathroom. 2-sectional sofas in living room, one with pullout sleeper. 2 recliners.

We had a great time and with just a short walk to the beach we were able to spend so much time there. Nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors and Molly and Steve were great! Our check in was at 4pm, but around 1pm Molly called and said the cleaners were finished and we could check in at any time.

The rooms were smaller that I thought, some electrical plugs didn’t work in the rooms and kitchen. The house was built in 1957 so I get the few mishaps. But overall it definitely had some uncleanliness in the kitchen & rooms, just dusty and things were a bit unorganized. There are only 2 rooms not 3. The beach is walking distance, and the location is great. If you’re looking to be out more than in this would be a good fit especially if you don’t wanna spend too much on lodging. We were grateful and made the best of it with my family.

The listing says "steps to the beach" the house is actually 1 1/2 blocks from beach - then you walk down 21 steps to the beach.Pictures show a gazebo close to the boardwalk, we never found that. Cottage needs some attention: fan light in bedroom with king and full bed only burns two bulbs, then when you turn it off the third one lights for a minute. Weather stripping hanging loose on back door. King bed mattress very worn.....both side have places wallowed out on edge, causing a hump in the middle. We thought some of the rules were excessive posted on refrigerator - i.e. No Visitors - any visitors caught there will be charged 20 each.I had a conversation with Steve about the location and pictures he pointed out it never says "on the beach". True We did not do our homework. But I hate that the conversation ended up with him hanging up on me.

The host was very responsive and accommodated us with an early check in. The house was pet friendly and there was a good sized property for taking our pup out. The only complaints were that there was some dirt and grime on the appliance handles, light switches and some surfaces, and there were several light lamps that didn't work so parts of the house were very dark. The walk to the beach was very easy and the beach was enjoyable.

Great stay

This house was perfect for our needs. My brother and I traveled down to meet other relatives for a deep-sea fishing trip. His 7 y.o. son/ my nephew decided he wanted to tag along last minute so this place was exactly what we needed. Naturally with 3 guys we weren’t looking for all the frills of a pricey beach get-a-way but we were pleasantly surprised with this little place. Plenty of room, great location (less than a 2 min walk and we could be on the beach), and in a nice neighborhood. We all enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend this place.
