Unique and Beautiful

This place is one of a kind. Owners live on property, it's more like a bed n breakfast. So expect that. Rock house, beautiful scenery, just gorgeous. Would definitely stay again. Absolutely a 100% southern hospitality.

Amazing place

My kids, my boyfriend and myself thoroughly enjoyed the peace and beauty of this place. Our hosts were kind and helpful. My kids loved exploring around the river and I loved swinging enjoying the view. Highly recommend and we plan on returning

Lovely, peaceful cabin.

We had a great post Christmas family weekend. The cabin was peaceful and cozy and felt far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life but was very close to Reimer Ranch, Hamilton pool and Westcave. A little further but still very convenient, we visited Pedrenales SP and Longhorn Caverns SP. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and at daybreak and dusk and taking in the gorgeous view. My kids liked the staircase to the creek below goats and appreciated the WiFi and Roku😛

Great Hosts, Great Cabin

This cabin was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a place close to nature where I could have some isolation but also some modern amenities. The creek below was a real treat. Parts of the creek were a little more challenging to get to than just walking down the steps, but definitely worth the effort. Very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone. It's proximity to other natural attractions was also a big plus. Even though the hosts are on the property, they were very nice and attentive to my needs and gave me plenty of space. Their response time prior to my visit was very prompt , including reminder messages. They were really great hosts.

Quiet, peaceful get-away

We came for the weekend for my daughter's December birthday. The house is on the owner's property. It is very well maintained and pretty much all you can hear are the birds and the creek which flows right by it and into the Pedernales. There is one bedroom and a loft which was plenty for me, my husband and my two daughters. While the weekend turned out a little colder than we had expected, the girls did enjoy getting out and meeting Sammy, the tortoise, and the goats. And we even had a chance to explore the creek for a bit. Another plus is that the owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. We are glad we chose this one.

Fantastic Stay near Dripping Springs!

We absolutely loved our little house that we were able to vacation in! The property owners, Patty and David, were just so, so incredibly kind and friendly...with several good suggestions about where to go and what to see. The house itself was just great. We really enjoyed it. During the day we drove into Dripping Springs and on into Wimberley to shop and eat at the great local restaurants. We liked it because the house seemed so removed from everyone else- but really you were only 20 minutes into town. The house was well furnished, had everything you could need, we felt right at home. We visited towns during the day, sat on the porch at night, played board games by the kitchen window overlooking the beautiful cliffs, we took the ladder down to the river below. Just had a great time. Recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit Dripping Springs or the surrounding area. We would absolutely come back.

Some minor issues that make a Big difference

Overall we enjoyed our stay, there were a couple of things that we thought were a bit odd though. First of all, we couldn't contact the owners via text message. It's kind of a pain to log into VRBO to check email when you need to talk to them. Secondly, The owners told us they didn't use keys or lock the doors because they had never had a problem with trespasser's before. I get that, but my wife and I would have appreciated being able to lock the cabin when we were out for the day, all our stuff is in there after all. Also, there were no curtains on the windows, except in the bedroom. I understand that the cabin is out in the middle of no where and on the owners property, but when we were inside we always felt like we were on display and didn't like that, especially because it is on the owners property. Kind of always had the feeling like we were being watched, some simple curtains would have been great. Lastly, one thing that we really didn't like is that there is a long trail that leads back to the cabin. You have to park in front of the property and then walk all the way back with all your stuff. The problem is that they have 2 dogs and one of the dogs pooped right in the middle of the trail and I very nearly rolled my suitcase right through it. There isn't much light at night and unless you have your phone light on, you will never see it. We overall enjoyed our stay, the cabin was clean and had everything we needed, it would have been much better though if the things above would be addressed. I would not stay here again without a key, curtains on the windows, and a clean path to walk on.

The cabin was super cute. The hiking around the area was great. There were some eating places within 20 minutes close by, but we brought food and just cooked on site. The Boyds(the owners) were super nice and very helpful. Internet worked great. The beds were very comfortable. We had 5 people and were very comfortable with a place for everyone to sleep. Everything was very clean. My favorite part might have been the many hummingbirds coming to the porch for their daily sustenance. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet, hill country stay close to many state parks.

Most relaxing vacation EVER!

My son and his friend(both17), me and our dog Pixie absolutely enjoyed our stay. Beautiful scenery with a great view from the little house with birds of all types (had not heard a Whippoorwill in YEARS but did our first night there) but my favorite were the dozens of hummingbirds that buzzed around due to the feeders on the porch. I say in a chair hammock every morning to watch them and enjoy the view. Dave and Patricia were so very nice and their property was . A little out in the country and very secluded but I loved it. I highly recommend.

Beautiful, quiet setting; comfy cabin

My husband and I wanted a comfy place to relax during our 5-day hike-the-hill-country get away. Charming stone cabin with lots of windows and porch that overlook huge expanse of undeveloped tree covered land. The kitchen is well-equipped as is the whole cabin. Comfy bed. The cabin is perched on a limestone bluff. Stairs lead to creek access. Many scenic parks are a short drive away!

House was very nice. David and Patti were very friendly and welcoming. They were on property if we needed anything but we were left alone and able to enjoy our escape. If you want to get away from crazy city then this is the place to go. So peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Amazing host / Getaway

Dave and Patti were amazing hosts and have the cutest place. We were greeted upon arrival and taken to the house. Dave was very thorough with explaining everything about the house as well as the area and things to do/go see. Once settled, we sat on the porch in awe of all the humming birds. Dave said this was nothing compared earlier in the spring! We had such a great time and Dave and Patti are a big reason for that! Will definitely be back to stay again

Amazing as always

We have stayed here 4 times and will continue to do so for as long as they’ll have us. Our expectations for a quiet, pleasant experience are consistently met. The location is perfect for relaxation and adventure. The real gem of the property is the Boyds; you’ll leave as family.

Great Getaway!

We loved our stay! It was very close to Hamilton Pool, which is what we wanted. The inside was cozy and the porch was great with beautiful views! The hosts were very friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. I would love to go back!

Why they chose this property

It is incredibly beautiful, truly, and a very natural area. Austin seems to grow daily, but our place here, only 30 miles from downtown, feels a world away. It is very a peaceful, relaxing place to be, a real getaway from the hustle and bustle.

What makes this property unique

The view from the cabin is phenomenal. Sitting on the porch and relaxing in the swing or glider and enjoying the view of Cypress Creek canyon 120 feet below is a mind-altering experience. It really takes you out of yourself for a bit. If you're a bit adventurous, you can climb down the custom-built iron staircase and trail to an incredibly beautiful deck built on a boulder overlooking Cypress Creek. It feels very much like a giant treehouse, with the sound of the falling water running down below.
