About this property
Kamaka Cabin -A rainforest retreat near Natl. Park
Tucked away on 3 quiet acres of native rainforest, this peaceful Big Island vacation rental is just 2 miles from Volcanoes National Park—the perfect cabin retreat to unwind with family and friends.
This home has been purposefully built out of beams and cedar boards, giving it the unique ability to naturally weather the moisture and environment of the rainforest while amplifying its connection to the surrounding forest.
The moment you step inside, soaring ceilings with tongue-and-groove cedar draw your eye toward a massive wall of windows that frame an immersive view of the Ohia forest (a native Hawaiian tree) beyond.
The open-concept living room—furnished with a cozy couch, chairs, and blankets—is ideal for curling up with a book in the misty quiet of the rainforest. It flows into a rustic yet highly functional kitchen equipped with all the amenities you need to prep, cook, and entertain.
Head upstairs to enjoy an even more immersive forest view through the windows. This level also features a smart TV and couch for movie nights, a daybed perfect for afternoon naps or extra guests, and a full bathroom with a shower.
Back on the main floor, three bedrooms are located down the hallway. The master bedroom includes a comfy king-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The other two bedrooms—one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds—share a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
