We loved this house and would definitely book again. Makes a great base camp.for a beach and national park adventure. The beds were comfy, great views of the river, many outdoor seating options, games in the garage. It is the perfect place to relax and sit back and listen to the river.

We loved our stay at The River House. The property is in a safe area of Crescent city, conveniently located between the beach and the Jedediah Redwoods. Our vacation didn’t go according to plan, with a visit to the ER 12 hours after arriving, but having a cozy home for my husband to recover in and keep my kids busy during the recovery helped save our vacation. The house is indeed fully stocked, so that was very appreciated. Small things you never pack or anticipate needing (like a heating pad) were there. There’s even a crock pot I wish I had found earlier. My kids loved searching for banana slugs, frogs in the river, making s’mores and playing lots of ping pong. What a great house. We will be back (hopefully without kidney stones).

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. We loved access to the river for swimming and the house had everything we needed to cook and even start a fire. Plenty of space for all of us. The only issue we had was no water the morning of checkout. It was really random.

Great location to stay when visiting the Redwoods. 15 to 20 minutes to parks, groceries and restaurants. Backyard is the highlight of this property. Stairs down to the river with a sitting area was great for morning coffee. House is older, but it's charm outweighs that.

The River House is a great place to stay. The Smith River is beautiful and peaceful, makes it serene. Crescent City, the ocean and redwoods are close by and lots of places to explore. Home has all the amenities needed for your stay. The ping pong table was an extra bonus! Would recommend this home if you want time to relax and explore.

The house is in a fantastic location. The cleanliness could be improved. Drain in bathroom sink was really gunked up, I had to clean it for proper drainage. The heater in the room adjacent to the kitchen is filthy, and needs to be cleaned. Bed was comfy, kitchen was well stocked. Very peaceful and quiet.

We were thrilled to be able to take our pets and the main attraction was the setting right next to the river. Unfortunately the weather was too cold and windy to sit by the river. My one complaint was that the shower in the main bathroom didn’t drain well. Otherwise, beds were comfortable and all other needs were met.
