About the host
Hosted by Vicky Bliss
We moved to The Yorkshire Dales from Cambridge and it's the best decision we made. For the first 3 years we refurbished the property top to bottom, only recently completing the new roof and car parking area. Now we spend our days running the holiday lets in the morning and hiking in the afternoon! Buckden is a real hidden gem and we enjoy sharing our local knowledge with guests and try to make sure a stay with us is truly memorable.
Why they chose this property
The village of Buckden is absolutely beautiful. Wonderful circular walks from the doorstep with refreshment en route from our local pubs. We are located directly opposite The Buck Inn so if you don't feel like cooking, book a table with Jo and Jeremy. Our guests absolutely love it. Alternatively walk along the banks of the River Wharfe, highlighted in Clare Balding recent TV programme Tales From The Riverbank, to The George Inn at Hubberholme. It is flat all the way. We provide torches as there are no street lights and the sky is very dark, it's like stepping back in time.
What makes this property unique
The Dale has a stunning view and private sun-deck, benefiting from sunshine most of the day and into the evening. It's a very relaxing, calm space for you to simply relax in fantastic surroundings and recharge your battery after a great day's walking.
