We had an excellent stay! The place was as described, clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive. Everything went smoothly and, as we visit the area annually, we hope to be able to be repeat visitors.
We had a great stay with our hosts. This is a semi- shared space and they made it feel very welcoming. They even took us on the pontoon which was a huge bonus! The beds and furniture were very comfortable. Beautiful lake views!
We really enjoyed our stay on Lake Melissa. The accommodations were fantastic. Clean, comfortable and every detail was met! The Whaleys were amazing - they provided coffee, drinks and snacks! Will be back!
Overall, the place was very clean and conveniently located. The owner went out of his way to be accommodating. I would certainly recommend.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Very misleading!!!!!!!! When we arrived the owner was cleaning the driveway with no shirt on. We sat in our car wondering if we were even at the correct house. Come to find out we were NOT staying in the house, but above the garage with the owners living in the house. Absolutely no privacy! The lake was across the street, not a beach front yard like it was advertised. During our stay the owners had many people drinking and listening to music in the garage. We were asked to join their party multipole times. This was very uncomfortable for three females. I would not recommend!!
Beautiful lake home that had everything that you could possibly need. Jason was more than accommodating, would definitely stay again if in the area. A nice quiet get away from we fest. Apartment was very clean and nicely decorated ,beds very comfortable.
We usd this cottage as overflow for our lake cottage. The family was welcoming and kind. Very friendly and willing to accomodate noise level for little ones sleeping. Offered sea doo, cornhole, refreshments.
This cottage was so helpful for us to have extra sleeping space for the big Fourth Of July Week.
Thank you

Susan, thank you for your review. We enjoyed hosting your family. We hope to see you in the future.
The property was so nice. I was traveling with my sister and my husband and 4 little kids. Everything was well stocked and clean. Owners were so kind and welcoming. Even told us to come down and have a drink with them if we’d like once our kids were in bed. Unfortunately we didn’t get to take them up on the offer because putting the littles to bed after a long day at the lake, had us all exhausted as well. They were very good with communication and honestly I felt that if we needed anything they would have been right there to help. Highly recommend.
The bunkhouse was beautifully finished and very clean. It worked well for our group, though space is a bit tight if you have 7-8 people and will have to utilize the couch and air mattress. One thing to note—the listing felt a bit misleading. On arrival, we thought we were at the wrong place, as the main cabin (occupied by the homeowners) is front and center. The bunkhouse is located above the garage and shares the yard and fire pit with the main home, so privacy is limited. The homeowners were kind, but there was frequent foot traffic through the shared space, as they are often around. Because of that, this isn’t a private retreat—especially if you’re looking to stay up late or enjoy time by the fire. We even received complaints about being out too late at the firepit, which dampened the experience a bit. If you’re looking for a peaceful, social setting and don’t mind shared outdoor space, this is a clean, well-maintained place to stay. But for those expecting a private lake retreat, it may not be the right fit.
