About this property

Our pool home is just 3 blocks from the intercostal waterway with a boat ramp. The beach is right across the intercostal (5 minutes). We are located in a quiet part of Old Englewood Village. Just a few blocks away is the lively Dearborn St. Within walking distance is shopping, restaurants, bars and water. The beach has beautiful white sand and blue waters but don't miss the intercostal where dolphins and manatees live. Great fishing!

Our home is a traditional Florida beach house with a private pool. Even though it is an older house we have new comfortable beds in both bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There is extra pull out sofa bed in the living room plus more people can be accommodated in the covered lanai where we have an additional pull out sofa. Roughly 1100 sqf of living space. We have a washer in the house. There is a BBQ grill with a lounge area in the backyard next to the pool. The driveway is big but half of it is reserved to accommodate our RV. We have enclosed backyard for your pets and a Lanai with AC where you can leave your pets while you are out for the day. Fire Extinguisher is in the main closet and first aid kit is in the main bathroom. We do provide some essentials like soap and toilet paper. If you ever need anything else, within reason then please ask and we will do our best to provide it.

Quiet getaway

The house is casual and comfy. Pool in back was great and house has a nice layout! All the basic--towels,dishes. Was a wonderful vacation!

Don't waste your money!!!!

The grill was rusty, non-functional, and lacking gas. There were cockroaches throughout the house, from the kitchen countertops and drawers to the bedrooms and bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, It only had one roll of toilet paper and that’s it. There wasn’t enough towels for the eight people which the house is supposed to accommodate. There was no bedding or laundry detergent available. The pool had no lighting or heater, was incredibly dirty and green, with visible mold – it was just plain disgusting. The outdoor chairs were left out to rot and rust; I fell through one when I sat down. This rental was a complete waste of my money. I'm thoroughly disappointed. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Not great

The property was just ok. The house is on well water and there are no filtered drinking water options like you'd usually encounter (like an osmosis tap or filtered water dispenser from the fridge) so you need to bring your own. We told the owner we would be arriving around midnight - a heads up that we should grab some bottled waters before arriving would have been nice. Not the best welcome but moving on. There were quite a few large roaches in the house, but it's Florida so that's going to happen sometimes. Kitchen table seats 2. There are no dressers in the bedrooms for your clothes. Smoke detector battery hadn't been changed recently so that started chirping. The shower doors in the hall bath leak so be prepared for water all over the floor if you use that bathroom for bathing. The most irritating part of our stay: the owner has NO issue interrupting your stay to remind you to put the trash bins out on the curb during your stay. Mind you, he also had this written on the whiteboard in the kitchen. Why leave your guests a note if you're going to also call, text, and message through VRBO, and then ultimately send your neighbor over (who was lurking around outside the front windows for several minutes at 10pm)? That situation was moments away from escalating and it was so unnecessary. We had every intention of pulling the cans out to the curb before we went to bed. Overall, just a really unpleasant stay.
