About this property
Steps From Johns Bay With Gorgeous Views
Everything that's wonderful about Maine! Two bedrooms plus large loft allows up to six guests to easily enjoy a real Maine vacation. Updated kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and a large enclosed porch with outdoor deck that face Johns Bay for 24/7 water views allow everyone to enjoy their stay. Our private community means little traffic and lots of time for relaxation and contemplation. Blackout shades in the bedrooms mean you get to sleep in, even when the sun doesn't. Community dock and float provides access to the water for your small kayak, motor or sail boat. Walk to the town beach and historic Fort William Henry, or travel just a few miles to enjoy many other scenic vistas, restaurants, history tours, botanical gardens, harbor cruises... the list is endless. Because of many repeat visitors, bookings are made no earlier than January for the following summer.

About the host
Hosted by Janice Reid

We're NJ natives but now split our time between Maine and Florida. Of course there's something great about each of these places, which is why we enjoy both! Unfortunately, our business in Florida keeps us there for much of the year, so we allow guests to use our home while we can't.
Why they chose this property
Our family has been coming to the Maine Midcoast region for over 70 years. We found this gem of a property in 1980, and decided to purchase the house pretty much on the spot. In 1989, we completely rebuilt the cabin, and over the years I've made steady improvements so that most of our renters consider it their 'home away from home'. Every time I drive down the lane, the view amazes me, and I remember why we first fell in love with it and why we've stayed all these years.
What makes this property unique
Relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. The views from the front porch. Watching the lobstermen work, the birds fish, the foxes sun, the fish jump, the tide come and go. Lobster and clam dinners fresh from the sea. Reading a book on the waterfront. Access to local trails, boat launches, harbor cruises, antique dealers, arts & crafts, historic sights. Being away from the hustle and bustle of home and work. Did I mention it's relaxing?
