About this property
Peace in Pemaquid - Ocean Sunsets & Stargazing
This home is fully weatherized and comfortable in all seasons!
This spacious but cozy, inexplicably peaceful home is a quick jaunt from Pemaquid Beach and the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. The windows overlook Pemaquid Harbor to the west, which means glorious sunsets over the ocean. The surrounding area has countless options for swimming, hiking, kayaking, and exquisite Maine cuisine, not to mention local art galleries and shops. This charming updated home features a furnished screened porch for bug-free relaxing and a backyard that's ideal for stargazing.
The space
This home would make an equally perfect family or couples getaway spot or artist's retreat. The setting is private and the views from the kitchen, downstairs bedroom, and upstairs rooms are inspirational.
The house has hardwood floors throughout with area rugs.
It's heated and cooled with quiet, efficient heat pumps.
The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishware--everything you need for home-cooked meals.
Outdoors there is a propane grill (equipment provided) and picnic table with umbrella.
For your listening enjoyment, there is a record player in the living room and a growing record collection that you are welcome to explore! There's also a ping pong table in the basement to keep the kids (and adults!) happily occupied.
The hosts have 3 young kids and are mindful of what families need on vacation. The house is stocked with board games, puzzles, coloring books and supplies, and books for kids of all ages. We can also set up a portable crib on request--just send a note ahead of time.
For peace of mind, the whole house is backed up on a generator so you will never lose power or heat even in an outage.
Both full bathrooms have optional heat lamps in the ceiling--emerge from your bath or shower into toasty warm comfort.
Accessibility: Those with challenges climbing stairs can stay in the bedroom on the ground floor (one queen bed) and have access to the living room, kitchen and dining area, screened porch, and bedroom with attached bathroom without having to navigate stairs. The only stairs to climb would be the steps leading up to the front door.
Breathe easy indoors, as we do not use perfumey air fresheners or other heavily scented products.
Enjoy a 10% discount with a full week's stay.
Please send a message if you have any questions before you book--we'd love to hear from you.
Guest access
Guests can use any part of the house (but please do not use the wood stove in the basement). Outside, a rustic stone wall delineates the boundaries of the property.
