About this property
The Pink Cottage on beautiful Damariscotta Lake.
The Pink Cottage is located on Damariscotta Lake in Midcoast Maine. It’s a beautiful, clear 10 mile long lake with lots of coves, inlets and islands to explore.
The Pink Cottage is a great place to relax and enjoy the lake, wildlife and lovely sunrises. The cottage accommodates 6 people in 2 bedrooms and a loft which has limited headroom (5 feet, best for kids but fine for adults, sleeping only). One first floor bed room has a queen bed and the other has two twins. The loft has two twin size beds. The loft is closed off between November and April, therefore only four people. We have a "smart tv" so bring your passwords/pin for streaming. We have an antenna for local network channels.
The enclosed sun-room overlooking the lake, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a living/dining room and a bathroom with shower finish out the first floor. There's a large deck, expansive lawn and a huge stone fire pit with wood supplied. We supply a canoe and three kayaks, two sit upon and one sit in. A public boat landing is just up the road so you can launch your boat from there and tie it up to our private dock.
Our sunroom looks out across the lawn and onto the lake where you can catch a glimpse of one of our resident eagles as well as loons and osprey. Keep your eyes out for fish jumping out by the marker. Large and small mouth bass are plentiful on the lake. Bring your fishing poles, just remember to get a license.
We have a strict no pet no smoking policy at the Pink Cottage.
Our favorite thing to do is have our coffee out on the deck in the morning and watch the lake come to life. During the day when the sun is bright and you’re not out exploring you can take a break in the hammock or in the hammock chair which is hanging lakeside. The area has wonderful hiking trails.
About 8 miles away is the town of Damariscotta. There you can find grocery stores, a large health food store, a bookstore, many wonderful restaurants, lots of galleries, gift shops and, of course, Reny's and Round Top Ice Cream (closes in October). There is a top notch library and YMCA if you need to get some.

About the host
Hosted by Ellen or Wilder Hunt

The Pink Cottage is owned by Ellen and Wilder Hunt, local residents who enjoy sharing the cottage with their children, grandchildren and visitors to the area.
Why they chose this property
Hi, my name is Danica and my parents own the Pink Cottage. They inherited it from my grandparents so I've been coming here since I was a little girl. Now I live in Richmond, VA, but I bring my family here for two weeks every summer. My children Camden (17) and Raegan (15) love to swim, fish and kayak on the lake. They play badminton and whiffle ball on the lawn and, at night, roast marshmallows over the bonfire in the fire pit. Their time at the Pink Cottage is consistently the highlight of their year. I am so pleased to be able to share this special place with my children. If you decide to visit, I know it will find a lasting place in your heart.
