My husband and I really enjoyed our week long stay at the Chalet to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! The Chalet was very clean and had everything we needed. Amy was always quick to reply to messages. The location was perfect! Very close to downtown Gatlinburg but secluded in the mountains to enjoy some peace and quiet when we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Parkway. We saw bears every day including a mamma and two cubs! The hot tub was nice to relax in after a day of hiking in the National Park. I would recommend the Chalet to anyone who wants to stay in a quiet location but be close to the action in Gatlinburg.
Everything was as described/pictured.The location was fabulous, the communication with Amy was excellent.Definitely recommend, my family enjoyed the multiple pools access, the hot tub and games in the loft!
Peaceful retreat. Very quiet neighborhood but near the park and downtown Gatlinburg. Very nice of owners to leave coffee for us when we arrived. The cabin is nicely furnished and comfortable. We wanted to use the hot tub but were always too tired after a day of exploring. On the afternoon we arrived, an adolescent black bear walked up our driveway to greet us. See lots of other wildlife on scenic drive through Cades Cove.
The cabin was exactly as pictured and in a fantastic location, easy to get in and out of and so close to downtown! We especially loved the TV outside - great for watching movies in the hot tub! The kitchen is really well stocked with good quality pots and pans and utensils. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were good quality and the whole place was very clean. Would definitely book again!
The host was amazing, and stayed in touch with us our entire stay. We got snowed in, and our safety was her top priority! The cabin was clean and cozy, hot tub was amazing. Thanks for a wonderful weekend, and letting us stay an extra night at no charge to ensure we were safe!
We were very pleased with everything. The photos on the site are what you will be seeing. Any issues that came up our host was quick to respond and all over it to fix!!
The cabin was clean, comfy, and a great getaway place in Gatlinburg. It is super close to downtown and has easy road access.Has everything you'll need during your stay in Gatlinburg
This was such a good stay and the host Amy was amazing when I had questions! Overall the cabin was beautiful and we were able to have a great weekend getaway with family!
This cabin was perfect for our family and dog friendly. If you want to see bears every day, this is your spot! The host responded to messages within minutes, and went out of their way for anything we needed.
Beautiful cabin in a perfect location. You can easily get to all the attractions of Gatlinburg and then escape to this cabin or retreat to the pool at the clubhouse which is super clean and has awesome views . The jacuzzi at the cabin is also super clean and refreshing and my son loved the shuffle board game. Host is super responsive and we did, as she said, see bears! Incredible experience and we will book again for sure.
We had a good time. Amy is very attentive. Location is great: 3 mins drive to Gatlinburg.
Just a FYI, the cabin doesn’t have a dishwasher.
We would definitely rent this chalet again.
The Getaway Chalet was a perfect stay for our family vacation to the mountains! It was equiped with everything we needed and so close to the attractions that made our stay even more memorable. The neighborhood was quiet and absolutely beautiful in the freshly fallen snow ❄️Amy was there when we needed her during the snowy winter weather offering tips and road closures to keep us safe (being first timers in the snow was a little intimidating...lol). We'd happily stay again and again!! Looking forward to another family adventure in Tennessee!
I cannot say enough good things about the house, the host and the location. It was exactly what was expected from the description and pictures. Perfect for our family with two teenage boys and a dog. The outdoor space and hot tub were really well maintained. The most surprising thing was the location. Our drive there seemed pretty high up the mountain which was great for the views but wasn’t sure how often we would make it downtown or hiking. Pleasant surprise the directions took us a different way when we would go explore. Less than 10 min to downtown Gatlinburg or hiking. You still feel deep in the woods when at the house but have the convenience. The host was extremely responsive and kind helping us add an additional day without any issues. Would 100% stay here again!!
This place is perfect for a temp home. My parents visited from Indiana havent seen in a year, theyre older. My partner and I are 40 and 50. My aunt stopped by. And the last 2 nights i had my son. The place was perfect for all of us equipped with plenty of tv to watch, everything you need to cook with inside and out, games for the family, reading areas, and family friendly furniture plus some. The lady we talked to along the visit was so pleasent and prompt about responsing. If i could change anything about this place is a better description of the roads if you cant get through Gatlinburg, they were quite terrifying on the bypass. Over all past exceptional!!!! Oh yea and views of bears everyday we were here, 5 days.
I need to preface with the VRBO app was not functioning correctly on my phone so I wasn't able to even try and contact the owner during our stay. Prior experience was that she responded quickly to communication and feel certain there would have been rapid attention.
Overall, it is a very nice place and the location is fantastic. It was very convenient for everything we wanted to do.
The cabin is older and while the decor is a nice rustic mountain style, it would benefit from some TLC.
The issues were small ones not worthy of making a big deal out of, but worth pointing out.
The rooms with the beds have no closets. Each one has one quite small upright narrow dresser with small drawers. However half of the drawers were filled with linens and not usable. There was nowhere to store things like shoes.
One of the kitchen drawers was broken and when I pulled it out, it came completely out and fell on the floor, full of utensils.
The hot tub really wasn't usable. We uncovered it and it had an undesirable odor. It had an empty chlorine canister floating in it. We have a spa at home and it was apparent that the chlorine and PH levels were not properly maintained.
Each bed had 4 pillows. Two of each were covered with pillow shams that matched the bedspreads. When we removed the shams for sleeping, the pillows inside lacked cases. We couldn't find any pillowcases to put on them.
On the positive side, we really liked the location and found it extremely convenient. It is also generally we
