We were very happy with our stay at the Casa Calhoun Retreat. It was safe and clean. We loved it. It was super convenient to the fair grounds and we never had to fight traffic.

Accommodation was great!

We had a mixed party that needed room to spread out, and areas to gather that was close to attractions as well as Lackland AFB. This property was exactly what we needed! Lots of space, lots of light, great areas to gather and comfortable beds.

Fabulous Family Reunion

We booked this beautiful 1900 home for a weekend getaway with some of our adult children. The house has been renovated sufficiently and offered the 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms we needed in addition to a modern granite kitchen. The location is perfect for visiting all the major sites San Antonio has to offer

The owner or manager was good - good communication. Place was very old and the outside was in very bad shape. No where outside was clean enough to use. The inside was much better but not super clean. Water pressure and hot water was challenging. No closets to hang clothes. Just extremely outdated on the inside. If I had another short stay in the area I would stay there again if I couldn’t find anything else. The pictures in the listing are a bit misleading. Also the neighborhood is pretty rough - don’t believe the Google search that Government Hill is up and coming.

Birthday Weekend

Information for arriving at house was shared in a timely manner and had no issues checking in. Check out items were minimal. We had a group of 8 and everyone said the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is stocked with basic items and coffee tobget the morning started. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and have shower gel and shampoo if needed. Plenty of parking behind the gate for our truck and car. The neighborhood was very quiet though and we saw very little traffic or people walking around. We kept the vehicles parked and used Uber to go out. House is convenient to downtown, The Park at Pearl and the Frost Center.
