Enjoy 2 wonderful beaches; Esker Point and Williams are 2.3 miles in each direction. Award winning Sift bakery is 1/3 of a mile away! Capt. Daniel Packer is across the street just .13 of a mile! Mia and Jon's property was great for a Thanksgiving trip to visit family nearby. It was very clean with comfortable beds, fluffy towels and stocked with great hand soaps and mini toiletries. It was an easy walk to Mystic Pizza, Sift bake shop, shopping and the drawbridge. We enjoyed our stay and Mia thoughtfully added decorative touches to the home for our Thanksgiving celebration. We hope to be back soon.

The home was perfect for our family visit during parents weekend with our cadet at the Coast Guard Academy. Great location with easy access to downtown Mystic, clean, and comfortable. We had a wonderful time and hope to stay agin in the future.

This is the prettiest, cleanest, warmest home we've ever stayed in! From the new appliances to the decorative touches, the Secret Mermaid is charming. My book club friends cozied up to the fireplace on a stormy night. It was a perfect New England stay.

The Secret Mermaid was a hit with my family. They all want to stay again when we visit my sister and her family in Noank. We were able to walk into Mystic easily. Comfortable beds, easy kitchen to work in, beautifully appointed bathrooms with fluffy towels, great dining room for 10 and lovely living room with a great fireplace.

Another great stay

This is our second year and it was as good as the first. Jon and Mia are great hosts, always responsive and want to make the best of your stay. This property has all you need and is so close to great restaurants, downtown shops and the Seaport Museum. Will stay again!

Great family stay!

I highly recommend to stay in the secret mermaid, great location, walking distance to Mystic restaurants, shops and museums. The house was perfect. And the hosts are just amazing. We had a wonderful family time!

Fantastic Thoughtful Family Stay

We had a great stay at the Secret Mermaid. The space was so well thought out and meticulously set up for everyone in our group. We had a 4yo and 1yo with us and the girls were so excited about the bunk bed room and all the books and stuffed animals in the house. There were games and beach supplies, fully stocked with kitchen supplies for adults and kids. I can't recommend this spot enough!

Very nice and clean home and convenient to downtown Mystic, which is awesome

We had an excellent stay home was very very clean and convenient to downtown Mystic. Just please know that if you have an elderly person that the bedrooms are all upstairs. House is totally stocked with everything else you’ll ever need and we certainly appreciate that as well.

Wonderful family time and so close to downtown

Everything you see is what you get and we appreciated the little touches. Just about all you need is already there and just a quick walk into downtown. Perfect location, loved the decor and perfect space for our family. Look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful house and location!

This place was perfect for our girls college reunion trip! The house was beautiful with no detail missed, the fore place was great for At night to watch movies in the living room. The porches were great for morning coffees. The location to all things downtown in Mystic was just wonderful. We look for was Ed to coming back again!

My wife Mia and I have a passion for renovating and preserving historic homes and own and operate a historic construction company in Western Ma. We completed the transformation of this home in the Spring of 2024. The house has quite a bit of historic significance (including a published book about childhood at the house in the early 1900s) and we enjoyed adding modern convenience while maintaining its charm and character.
We have 11-year-old twin boys and most of our favorite memories are Summers spent in Mystic, eating ice cream, visiting various beaches, boating, and sunset beach walks. We find Mystic magical and it's definitely our "Happy Place". When you stay as our guest, our hope is for you to make memories to last a lifetime as we have.
Mia and I are very excited for you to discover the many joys of the Mystic area! We are hands-on owners and are readily available for questions during your stay. We are happy to assist you in anything you may need, including information ahead of your stay to help guide you in making reservations for watersports, sunset cruises or any of the exceptional restaurants in the area. We are also able to advise on everything from the many kid-friendly places and activities to adult interests including local vineyards, tastings and festivals.
We truly hope that your stay in Mystic at the Secret Mermaid becomes your "Happy place", and we look forward to having you as our guest!

Why they chose this property

The house is a very short 5-minute walk to downtown and the public dock is just across the street. Sift Bakery and all the wonderful shopping and amazing restaurants are all walkable from the house!

What makes this property unique

The comforts of home! Mia, my wife... tries to make sure you have everything you could need to enjoy your stay including; a well-stocked kitchen, k cups for the machine, good bedding, very comfortable mattresses, plenty of towels, beach towels and chairs, games, outdoor space to eat and outdoor meal plates, glasses and serving etc, baby travel necessities, paper plates, toiletries, soap for dishes and laundry, a relaxing living room with recliners, throw blankets, and a gas fireplace for the colder months. The house is professionally cleaned and landscaped.
She tries to think of everything and is consistently adding new things. It truly is our goal to make your stay comfortable!
