About this property

Peaceful Big Island Hawaii Retreat with Private Beach Club Access

Our home is a classic Hawaiian style bungalow (no shared walls) 3 BR / 3 Bath (2 master ensuite) with attached garage parking. It's a space to relax, recharge and enjoy "island time". We have beach cruiser bikes, beach towels, snorkel gear, and paddle boards for your use. There is also a Tesla charger in the garage if you happen to be driving one on island!

The location is within the Mauna Lani Resort area within a gated community that includes 2 community pools and spas, a fitness gym and recreation area. Guests will have access to the private Mauna Lani beach club that hosts one of the best restaurants on the island, Napua.

The home is a short walk, run, bike to the beach or short drive to the multiple sunny, white sand beaches (2 of the top 10 beaches in the country!). Enjoy the gentle warm breezes and peaceful sounds of birds on the back lanai or venture to the beach for magical sunset , whale watching or snorkeling.

There are a number of excellent golf courses in the Mauna Lani Resort, plenty of easy bike friendly roads and places to stroll or run including a beach front running trail. Our home is also very close to ancient Hawaiian cultural sites and fishponds, including the Puakō Petroglyph Archaeological Preserve.

You will have the convenience of a gourmet grocery store a half mile away, shops and restaurants. Our home is 10 minutes away from Waikoloa Village resort with many more shops, restaurants, cinema and amenities. Helicopter tours and boat charters are also nearby.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Scrape BBQ grill, turn off propane tank. Cover lanai lounge chairs.
Turn off all fans, shut and lock windows/doors.
Ensure all garage equipment returned and stored.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors.
Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area (garage parking for 1 vehicle) or guest stalls across from house.
Must abide by the KaMilo Community rules and KKRC rules

Great Spot on the Big Island

Great location, very clean and well stocked kitchen. The community pool and exercise room is a plus. Easy to walk to the Fairmont for a drink or dinner. Also appreciate the Mauna Lani beach club pass.

Fantastic visit!

Very nice house in a great neighborhood. Our two teens appreciated each having their own bathrooms and beach access. The garage is well stocked with bikes and beach gear for all ages and the open kitchen is great for family dinners. Would highly recommend!

The house was perfect for a family vacation with my sons, daughters in law and 2 1/2 year old grandson. The wading pool and lawns were great for a toddler to swim and play and the house was spacious enough for all of us to cook, eat and hang out together. 2 of the rooms were big enough to accommodate a full size rental crib, which was so nice. The beach at the beach club was ideal for a little one, as well. Snorkeling gear in the garage was a welcome bonus. Everything clean and gorgeous!!

Plenty of space

Great location near a private beach and grocery store. Our family of 6 (3 couples) had plenty of space to rest and shower after our fun filled days with 3bedrooms/3baths.The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, nice pans, and knifes that cut well! Plenty of items in the garage to have a picnic and play at the beach (I.e.,ice chest, chairs, umbrellas boogie boards).

Beautiful Home

This is a beautifully furnished property. Garage was filled with lots of "toys". Owner promptly answered our questions. Only suggestions I would offer is it would be helpful to add some basic amenities in the bathroom like soap and shampoo/conditioner in case guests assume it is there and don't pack any.

Pool time and beach club

Great property! Was just as advertised. Slightly more expensive with all the fees are included but with it. Was great to have in-laws have private rooms with bathrooms. Beach club was a big amenity for us as well as amazing pool area. About 25 minutes north of Kona.

Perfect 3BR/3BA home to stay at Mauna Lani!

My family and I had a memorable time staying at Ka Milo in Mauna Lani! It’s the perfect place for a fun and relaxing staycation! It features a spacious primary suite with luxurious Ensuite with stand alone soaking tub and walk in shower, as well as a secondary suite with Ensuite ideal for our teenage daughter, and 3rd bedroom for our boys. For a family of 5, you can’t beat the value of renting this home. Our kiddos enjoyed using the bikes, skateboards, and boogie boards provided. It’s just close enough, a very short walk, to the pools, hot tubs, & fitness center for convenience sake without sacrificing privacy or the peace and quiet at the rental. Complete with an access card to the private beach club provided- one of the most beautiful beaches in the island. The host was very kind and responsive to any questions we had. We definitely plan on staying there again in the future!

Christmas-New Year getaway to Kona

The house was very clean and comfortable, and Kira was very responsive to all of our questions and provided info about local services and amenities. The Ka-Milo community is walking distance to the Fairmont Orchid where we went to the Luau, and the Maunu Lani resort where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch and saw sea turtles on the beach. This is a HOA community so the amenities are shared (and the garden hot tub wasn't working while we were there). The houses are very tightly packed - so if you're sitting out on the back lanai to enjoy the breezes or bbq then you're going to hear the conversations from the 2 neighboring properties. The great room has nice decor and the TV has a theatre-style surround sound system. The pools and fitness center are a very short walk from the house. The beach club is a short drive away and has a great sandy beach and reasonably priced bar/restaurant, with pedestrian access to the historic fish ponds and the Maunu Lani beach walk.

Perfect Home Base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kira’s home. I would say if anything the pictures on the listing don’t do it justice! There is a beautiful dining table that I didn’t see in any of the pictures. The layout was perfect for my in-laws, my wife and myself, and our two tween/teen kids. It is beautifully appointed and truly feels like an island retreat. The beds are very comfortable with nice bedding. The bathrooms are beautiful. The home is so well equipped, there was literally nothing else we needed. I forgot a game we enjoy playing (not a common one) and opened a drawer and there it was! The kitchen has everything you need to make a gourmet meal. We spent equal time dining out and cooking/grilling at “home”, mainly because this home made it so easy! The garage has everything you need for a great day at the beach and then some! We were 10 minutes from our kids’ favorite beach and even closer to two others we really enjoy. Having access to the beach club is a great perk, as is the beautiful pool and pavilion area which is a two minute walk. If handicap accessibility is a requirement for you, as it is for us, the one level layout and walk-in shower made this place very easy to navigate. We are already dreaming of our return to Kira’s Hawaiian Retreat. And we definitely don’t say that about all of the places we have stayed while traveling. It really is a special place and is the perfect home away from home. Mahalo for a wonderful start to 2024!
