One of the most magnificent settings anywhere! A very private property yet easily accessible with any car, even in the winter. Swim in your own pristine waterfront Pond with a sandy beach. Paddle boat to the two small islands in the middle of our pond in our 3 person paddle boats or just relax in a chaise by the edge of the water and take in the beauty. The house comes with four bedrooms and two and one half baths. There is one full bath upstairs and one half bath upstairs. Downstairs there is another full bath. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. The house has Cathedral ceilings in the dining room and part of the living room where the marble fireplace is situated. You will find a beautiful Baby Grand Piano is the Living Room. Also there is a new Fussball Table. There is a large screened porch that overlooks the Creek which is accessed by the living room as well as from the porch. The Creek runs by the entire edge of the property. We also have two sets of swings for kids and adults. We also have a 2 bedroom guest house which is next to the 4 bedroom house. That will accommodate 8 guests and we offer that for $320 per night. If you do not decide to rent that we do not make it available to any other guests. It will be closed while you stay there. We also have an authentic Log Cabin which is available accommodating 2 to 4 guests which is available to rent for $250 per night. That is a separate listing with its own driveway across from the pond. Great place for large groups such as family reunions, yoga retreats and corporate retreats. Ask us about hosting a small wedding. It would be an ideal place!

The host was welcoming and communicated well. We thoroughly enjoyed the proximity of the house to Gore mountain. The common areas were spacious with plenty of room for 10 of us. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom layout was quirky with multiple entrances to bathrooms and uneven flooring that might not be well suited to people with mobility issues. The kitchen and bathrooms are in definite need of updating- but the kitchen had everything we needed. We mistakenly thought the fireplace was wood burning but it was not (and it was way too cold for us to enjoy the fire pit).

There are no uneven floors upstairs. There is one step to one of the bathrooms.
Yes we intend to update the bathrooms and kitchen for esthetic reasons but they are spotless clean and functional. They are not chipped or broken in any way.
Yes the house has a lot of living space downstairs and that is why we have plenty of couches so that everyone is comfortable. This guest did not like the way the decor was set up but she and her family were perfectly comfortable being there. At least this what she told us when we called in to ask how everything was and if she responded that everything was wonderful and that she was happy with her accommodation.
We had a great time at the house. It was perfect for kids, who loved spending all day outside going from the playground to the beach to the stream and back again. Lots of space, great location and access to Adirondack hikes.
Really loved the back porch right next to the creek. Beautiful view of the pond from the dining room. Overall it felt pretty private even with other people staying on the property. House was comfortable and met our needs. Less than a 10 minute drive to town so it was quick and easy to get groceries.
This property is a great space for family gatherings. Good outdoor space for kids to run and play, and serene setting for adults to relax. Grandkids enjoyed swimming in the large pond and riding in the pedal boat and canoe. Kitchen is very well equipped and needs were comfortable, although mattresses in a couple rooms were a little short. Only downside was the sulphur smell in the water but owner provided several jugs of spring water for drinking. Everyone agreed we'd go back for another stay.
The house is as described and had lots of room for our family. It is off the beaten path but served our needs since with a young child and newborn we were not going to go to restaurants and major attractions. Fun things to keep us occupied: playing in the babbling brook, boating around the pond, playing at the "beach" and hiking in the area. Kitchen was well furnished with plates, etc. and organized. Owner was very prompt to answer any questions we had. Would recommend for a nice relaxing, quiet getaway.
The house and the property was a great place to stay while we skied at Gore. The house is cozy, has everything you need including a crockpot. Dick was helpful. We would defiantly stay here again.
We had a lovely time at this property. It has lots of room to spread out and relax, it is SO close to Gore Mountain for skiing, and the creek out back and pond out front was so scenic.
Loved our stay in February, very close to skiing at Gore. House had enough supplies in the kitchen to make it easy for us to cook for the 7 of us who stayed. (There is not much in the way of restaurants in the area, especially open mid-week.) Vasili was quick to answer any questions I had, accessing the house was a breeze, and everything went smoothly during our stay.
terrific property location......a brook and a large pond. perfect for kids...ages 6-10. the kids could have adventures on their own, plenty of space to roam around. fees were a bit much but we blame that on vrbo. a great family experience.
Great place. Spacious, great location and wonder ful manager to deal with. Only downside was water pressure issues and some bed comforts. But overall, can’t wait to go back😊

I wish we knew about the water pressure and the bed comforts and we would have taken care of it. However we will attend to these immediately.
Thank you.
We rented the main house and guest house for a ski trip with our kids and some of their college friends. Upon arrival, the place was spotless! There was plenty of room for sleeping and hanging out. Guest house was also perfect. Kitchen was well stocked. Gore mountain very close also convenient to supermarket and a few restaurants. Only minor issue was inconsistent water pressure which is not unusual in ski / lake houses like.this. Would definitely rent again
We stayed here with our family of two adults and four kids ages 4 to 9. The pond was perfectly accessible for wading or swimming out. The beautiful creek was also an added wonder! My kids love water, so this was the perfect place! The home itself was also beautiful and spacious, allowing plenty of room for a family of six. Thank you for such lovely accommodations!. We had a fantastic week.!
This house is uninhabitable due to water contamination. We left the house within 24 hours because we could not drink the water, shower, or even wash dishes. The host made an excuse about a drought causing high Iron content and went on to tell me how much he spent on a water filtration system that does not work. The gas smell from turning on the tap was so strong that after washing my hands the entire cabin smelled like there was a gas leak. The owner did not offer to fix this problem or compensate us for the loss of money and time. We booked another place to stay so I ended up spending twice as much money. This may have been a nice place at one point but if you read the recent reviews they are all pretty bad. I have no doubt that the owner will write something to contradict this, but do yourself a favor and read the other recent reviews that go into detail about some of the other fatal flaws. At the end of the day any place without usable water is not inhabitable and should not be rented. I have been renting with VRBO for over a decade and have had disappointing stays but this place is not safe to inhabit. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We tried communicating with the guest about the Iron content which was completely safe because it was tested by the lab where we always test our water.
We had a company come and remedy the smell once and for all. When we tried to inform the guest he had no will to hear anything and just packed up and left abruptly. We had 4 other reservatioms since this guest left and they were perfectly happy with the house.
It is regrettable to us that we couldn't offer anything to this guest including other lodging for his booked dates.
We enjoyed a long weekend here with our children, grandchildren and grand dog. Perfect place for them to romp and roam. The pond was and creek were focal points. House has an open layout and very kid friendly. It's not a fancy place as furniture is well worn but comfortable. It is very close to Gore Mountain and North Creek. It met our family needs. Owner was easy to communicate with, checking and out was simple.
This was the perfect property for all 10 of us - Grandparents, 2 kids and spouses and 4 great grandchildren. The grandkids ranged from 3 - 6 and the beach was prefect for them to swim.
Property was clean and ready on time and well stocked with everything we needed to make meals. Appreciated the gas grill and fire pit. I think the best comment came from the two older grandkids who were talking a couple of days after they got home, and they both agreed they wished they were still at the cabin. Already Looking for dates for next year. Really enjoyed ouseleves.

Great location
Our stay was fantastic. We did have to do a little tidying up and purchasing of cleaning supplies, but it wasn't bad. The accommodations were comfortable and the bedroom arrangements were convenient. My only draw back was the lack of mattress covers. Its really hard to sleep in a strange bed thats not protected.
The location was everything. The stream and small pond were beautiful and the kids enjoyed both. It was nice to get away in a safe place where the kids could just explore.
The cabin itself was fantastic and rustic.

Very disappointed
The house itself is dated but was very clean and has beautiful views. We specifically booked a house with 4 bedrooms only to come to find out once we got here that one bedroom was unavailable due to mold problem. I spoke with the owner prior to arrival to go over any check in procedures and she failed to mention this. We have an infant and 3 young children and needed the extra bedroom and would have liked to be told about mold. Also, lots of the dining room chairs are very rickety as well as the railing on the upper level. We can’t help but feel a little slighted by the lack of communication.

The guest did not mention that we offered her the guest house which is next to the house that she rented for free as well. She got two houses whoch resulted in 5 bedrooms.
We could have allowed her and her family to use the bedroom which had a roof leak but we didnt. Instead we locked up that room because we didn't want to accommodate anyone in that room until we fixed the problem. Lauren got two houses instead of one which is of greater value. I would think that she would be grateful and appreciative.
This place was a Godsend for our Family (two daughters/spouses and 5 Grandchildren)!! Had last minute issues with our Family place at Schroon Lake so it was a last minute booking. Dick D. was super accomodating and really loved sharing details about the property and even showed us the Beach House on Twilight Pond if we ever needed for extra guests. This place was just magical! It was very reminiscent of the Adirondack Great Camp style and probably on par with some that are considered Grand Camps in our Great Adirondack Park. The spring fed pond was just beautiful, and the paddleboats really brought a lot of excitement and joy to the grandkids experience. All within Adult view... Built in babysitting, if ya catch my drift! Imagine a babbling brook right next to the Lodge where you can actually hear it Babbling... Unbelievably Calming!!! Great Firepit surrounded by Adirondack Chairs for for smores and Guitar Koom By Ya!!! This place is a real Charmer and feels like an Artist Retreat for you Creative Types... Just Book It!!! J&H

Beautiful but lacking
The setup was wonderful, pond and creek picturesque, and the house had all the furnishings we needed for cooking and entertainment with lots of space for everyone. Unfortunately the house needs a lot updating and deep cleaning in order to be anywhere near worth what was paid to stay here for a weekend. We killed dozens of flies, cleaned cobwebs and I kid you not the roof leaked in two places when it was raining right into the main dining room so we had to use bowls and towels. There was a lot of mildew and must, so much so that one in our party could not stay there for more than a night. The sulfur egg smell was pretty rough for the one quick shower I had, doing dishes was okay and we brought lots of drinking water so we used that for cooking/coffee/tea as well.
The host was amazing and very attentive and the property beautiful, unfortunately there was nothing that could be done about the things that we did not expect to encounter so we made do and had a great time for the most part but the place needs some major TLC to live up to the price, listing and expectation that I feel was set.

The reason thet the guest had flies is because they left every single door open.
The sulfur smell was easy to grt rid of and we would have been happy to tale care of it if the guest informed us during their stay. When we contacted the guest he did tell us about the leak on the roof which we have already fixed and told us that everything else was great and they they were very happy there.
I am saddened about the compromised experience of the guest and had we known we would definitely have taken care of things to make their experience better.
We vacationed at the Lodge for a week. There were six adults and four children (aged 2 -- 10), and we had plenty of space. The great room, screened porch (with an extra fridge), and especially the yard and beach area were great. As other reviewers have mentioned, the setting is wonderful - beautiful woods, private, and well kept. We were blessed with perfect weather all week, so there was swimming in the pond every day, and the paddle boats got a lot of use. Great place for kids to play. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, utensils, and dishes (some of the knives were pretty dull though). The lodge was rustic, and a bit worn in some places, but all in all quite comfortable and "easy to live in." Definitely an excellent place for a family vacation.
Such a picturesque setting homes were clean and ready by check in. Dick, the manager; was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and very homey.
We had a mix of grandparents, parents and two young children. They loved the sandy beach at the pond and the swings. My personal favorite was taking an Adirondack chair down by the creek amd just sitting taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
We will be back!

Problems with house
We stayed at the property July 30-August 4th. Two rather serious issues need immediate attention. The ceiling in the guesthouse had noticeable water damage and an area of mold directly over a bed. As you know, mold can be a serious health concern to some individuals. Additionally, the plumbing under the kitchen sink was leaking and a basin (unbeknown to us) had been placed there. It nearly overflowed and disgusting gray water had to be emptied by my mother. While staying, we notified the caretaker Dick about these issues. We would never expect to encounter such disrepair and a health concern at a property that we spent over $6000 to rent. An adjustment certainly is expected. We have photo documentation if required.

First: There was certainly no mold in the ceiling of our Guest House. There was a water stain the size of a baby's first that we took care of right away and was definitely not a health threat to anyone.
Second, we offered the guest other accommodations and his daughter said not that will not be necessary cause we love it here and would love to spend our time right here.
Second, the guest contacted VRBO as well as myself asking for a refund claiming that he has photos of mold and when both VRBO and I asked to see these photos, they were never produced! To this day they were never produced.
Third, Yes there was a leak under the sink but that leak was not there when the guest arrived. It definitely was there a few days into their stay since they forced kernels of corn down the pipe that we had to repair.
He kept complaining about the price after he arrived and was arguing with his daughter and wife who booked our property. We overheard the daughter say "come on dad there is no issue here."
Our caretaker Dick was at his beck and call constantly but this father guest was determined to make life very difficult for his family as well as for us during the busiest season. The issue here is that this guest felt that his daughter and wife paid too much money and that he was no consulted and both we and VRBO concluded that he has no basis to ask for a refund. Hence the bad review!
Enjoyed it for a few days of skiing. Everything was as pictured and described. The owners were pleasant to deal with and responded promptly. Took off one star due to some lights not working and a couple missing dimmer switch knobs. All in all a good place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Vasili Stertsios
I was raised in the mainland of Greece in the Mountainous Region called Epirus. The stone home in which I was born was situated on the foothills of my small town surrounded by deep green Mountains and looking out into a wide deep valley where River Aos flows into. I always had the feeling that the beauty of my small town was unique. When I moved to the US as a 10 year old boy I was immersed into the life of NYC which was stimulating and educational. It was not until I became 36 years of age that I took an active interest in exploring the Adirondacks along with my 21 year old station wagon and my Black Labrador George. We would sleep in the car by the banks of Rivers or camp in the various campsites. These mountains filled me with excitement, a sense of Wonder and peace. I can say with confidence that they did the same for George :) 15 years later and three properties later, I still feel the same. The uniqueness of my love for these Mountains is made special for me because it is coupled with the ability to offer my properties there to other people that come up and hopefully get to experience similar feelings.
Why they chose this property
It is impossible to do drive by this property and not stop, get out of the car and say Wow! The house was built in 1991 and we still have the photo album of when it was being built. Great care was given to use the best material for its construction. The crystal clear pond is Spring fed by clean water constantly from the Creek and the sandy beach is just a delight.
What makes this property unique
The uniqueness of this property becomes apparent immediately when you arrive at the quiet setting and drive adjacent to this magnificent Pond and take in the view of the house, the Creek, the swing set, the bonfire pit, the log cabin and the warm new log house. Swim in the fresh water pond or paddle boat and aim for the two islands. You take a deep breath knowing that you are free in the privacy of this setting.
