This unique property was a lovely stay and the perfect oasis to explore southern Vermont and western mass. Very tastefully renovated and appointed, the open floor plan is inviting and charming. Highly recommend!
Excellent space to cook, play games, and be with friends.
The Sanctuary is just that. A perfect place to regroup. Be with friends and family and enjoy a wonderful art filled space. Natalie was an excellent host and insured we had what we needed.
The Church House (as we called it) was an amazing space that held our family both physically and metaphorically with love. The space is open and gracious and the accommodations were very comfortable. This is truly a unique experience and one that I would highly recommend.
Had an amazing time staying in this refurbished Church!!! Huge open spaces and fantastic details to spend your time exploring. Everything was clean and fantastic. The landlord was very responsive to any questions I had. Would def recommend it!!
The sanctuary was an amazing and unique place to stay. So much detail and love has gone into the preservation and the artwork is just incredible. Every nook and cranny has an amazing piece of artwork and the structure is just incredible. Such an experience. Thank you for sharing your incredible VRBO.
Natalie’s home is a unique architectural, historical and artistic experience. The place is very fun and it’s exciting to cook on a giant ten burner antique stove just as it’s cool to shower in her bathroom finished in true artisanal tiles. Loved it.

Fun, Artsy, Clean and Comfortable
My husband and I loved spending the winter weekend at this fun and comfortable converted church with our 2 teenage daughters and a couple of their friends. It was the perfect retreat - spacious and warm (radiant heat in the floors works great). It has a large kitchen island and dining table for enjoying meals and several cozy seating areas for relaxing. Location was perfect. Mt Snow was only about 30 min away and Lots of good restaurants only 10 minutes away in Brattleboro.

Thank you for the lovely review, Tara. The church sanctuary has been a retreat for so many, and we love that people get so much enjoyment out of it. And you make the great point about its location which is really a win, close to the mountain for both winter and summer activity, as well as close to Brattleboro, one of the 8 best small town in America to live in! Great restaurants and art. It was wonderful having your family stay with us and we hope you will come again. Thank you for being great guests.
Found it to be as described. Beautiful space, unique, quaint, loved the attention to detail, stained glass windows & artwork. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because we didn’t find the furniture comfortable. It could use some updating.
We stayed at this beautiful home for three nights with friends and family, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we could feel the care and love that went into creating this space — it has such positive energy and thoughtful touches throughout. The house was beautifully decorated clean and well-equipped. The welcome binder was super helpful and answered all of our questions, making it easy to settle in and enjoy. We felt so comfortable and at home here, and really appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a special place. Thank you for sharing your labor of love with us — we had a fantastic time and would absolutely return!
This place is a gem. We were looking for a getaway that allowed us downtime, relaxation and was centrally located to our interests. (Outdoor activities) Not only did we have those needs met but the kitchen was well appointed and the space is so beautiful that it helped us recharge in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Natalie is a friendly, responsive and easy to work with host. We will be returning!!

Unique property in a great location.
My family (including our two dogs) booked a post Christmas week vacation at the church. Was an easy experience with the owners from start to finish. They even came over to help dig my car out after some snow.
The property itself was open and welcoming. Very unique! More than enough room for 3 couples. There is much to do in the surrounding area. Ski, hike or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Close enough drive to town for dinner or drinks.
We had a wonderful time. Thank you Nick and Natalie, we will be back!

So great having you. Do come back. Doors are open!
My partner is from Vermont so we selected a place where the family could gather to celebrate his father's 86th birthday. The home is full of art and lots of treasures to behold. There is a tenant downstairs, so be aware. There is a library/community space behind the home for extra parking and space for little ones to play. The rules are very specific so just check in with the owners beforehand if you have little kids.
The church property is as amazing as it looks online: big, open space with two private bedrooms and a loft for the master suite. The upstairs bathroom with shower is literally a work of art, and the owner's art graces the home throughout. We also liked the small town very much, and our dog loved walking the adjacent playing field each day.
Not much to criticize. The check-in process was bumpy but soon resolved; the refrigerator is located in the entryway, which is a bit of a pain; and the wi-fi was spotty throughout. But overall the place is extremely cool.

Tony,
Thank you for being so gracious with the bumpy check-in while I was in Mexico! That was completely my fault and I now have better systems in place to be sure that the needs are met of my guests even if I am out of town. One of the gifts of living in this area are the friends and neighbors who make for a beautiful system of care for us all. As the world gets weirder, we will all need to rely on the network of trusted community for anything that arises, and I am blessed with those friends. I am so glad you appreciated the space.
Its true the fridge is a little walk away. When I was renovating the church 25 years ago now, my partner at the time had a very hard time with the noise of the fridge reverberating in the open space, and so we put it there, and there it has remained. So we get sound, restful sleep as a trade off.
And I have remedied the wifi. I don't know why it was giving you troubles that particular weekend.
Thank you again for your stay and your review.
The sanctuary is as advertised: striking in looks, very nicely appointed and quite comfortable. In addition, there is an impressive collection of interesting around around the home. I have to point out how responsive the owners are. The internet went out on a Sunday morning and Natalie was by to reset the modem in 15 minutes - incredibly thoughtful. Highly recommended.
comfortable bed, comfortable couches, beautiful dining room table, quiet location, great kitchen...we'd love to return some day. Natalie was easy to communicate with and responsive when we had questions.
This property is unusual in the best possible way. We--spouse and two teenagers-- stayed for a long weekend and came away relaxed and rested. Natalie was a helpful and accommodating host, who provided excellent tips about how to make the most of the natural beauty of the immediate area (short hikes and bike rides) and where to eat out. The living space is full of interesting art and books with several comfortable spaces to enjoy them and be together The location was very peaceful and quiet. We would definitely return and look forward to another chance to do so..
A wonderful renovated church. So unique, peaceful and comfortable. Lots of room ! We walked everyday thru quiet peaceful areas a few yards from the front door. It’s so quiet I had the best nights sleep every night. Everything you need, well stocked kitchen for lots of dinner guests and the awesome stove/ oven, a chef’s dream. The minute I walked in I knew I made the right choice!
We enjoyed our weekend getaway. This is a very unique place. We enjoyed the open space andn high ceilings as well as thr kitchen. It was noce to also have a soaking tub. We felt that after our sray our mind, body, and spirit were restored.
