About this property
RIVERFRONT Cabin on Nantahala River, Minutes from NOC
Our cozy cabin is located in the Mystic River gated community along the banks of the world renowned Nantahala River with the Nantahala National Forest along the facing bank. The cabin was built in the early 1970 prior to the current 25 foot building setback requirement, part of the cabin is literally over the bank of the river. Because its river bank location is grandfathered in we are very limited in our ability to alter or remodel. The unique location of this cabin is part of its charm. If you are looking for a luxurious newly built cabin, our property is probably not for you. The cabin is very modest and basic but has everything that you will need If you are looking for the most unique location in one of the most beautiful river settings you will ever find and are willing to accept clean but minimal accomodations, then you will enjoy our property. A private get away from the busy world. Fish from the deck if you choose or watch the whitewater rafters float by just a few feet away, wishing they had your view. We have 2 miles of private river frontage plus 2 islands for your fishing and hiking enjoyment. You also have access to miles of private hiking trails, fish pond, and pond side pavilion in our nearby sister community.
If that is not enough excitement, how about a white water raft ride down the Nantahala River stopping off at your own private cabin for a half way break or just relax on the covered porch and watch the river pass by.
Whatever your idea of a vacation in the Smokey Mountains includes, our riverfront cabin is the perfect lodging solution.
We have multiple properties so if we don't have availability here we may have something open so please ask.

This is the third time staying here and the cabin is very clean, beds so comfortable it was hard to get out of them to go fishing! Trudy is very responsive with any questions we had. Our favorite place to stay! Thank you Trudy!
If you want prime riverfront property full of trout look no further. Read the listing, this is not club med. If you’re looking to be outdoors this place is perfect. If you stay up late enough a cute little couple of river otters who have no sense for personal space will make a showing.
We loved staying right on the river watching the rafters float by. The cabin was great and the property is beautiful. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the fishing was good, can't to come back !
You cant beat this location it is so beautiful and peaceful! We had an absolute blast . From star gazing at the fire pit to zip lining and white water rafting and fishing on the river bank. The property was amazing
This was our second stay at this property and we fell a little more in love with it! The view is the absolute best! From mountaintop fireworks to a beaver swimming around before dark; we love it here.
It is a super location on the river with privacy. There is road noise but didn’t really bother us. It’s tough to fish the river because its flow is controlled by Duke for whitewater activities but there is fishing opportunities very close by. Very relaxing with fire pit and pretty much everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our dog loved it!
Great location, could not ask for better. The cabin is not fancy, but knew that going in. Who needs fancy with the surrounding nature. The windows however need new screens. They had big holes in them, and a lot of dead bugs. It would have been nice to open windows and hear the river. Otherwise, loved the stay.
Trudy, the property manager, is amazing and incredibly responsive. The river front setting is amazing. The cabin is basic and aged. There is traffic noise. Trudy does her best to give you the best stay possible.
Beautiful cabin! We enjoyed our stay, and we definitely would like to be back in summer when is warmer to enjoy the river!
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
Unbelievably convenient, tranquil, and functional. The location right on the river makes for awesome morning coffee, great grilling, and memorable campfires on the water.
