Unbelievably beautiful location! The views are amazing in all directions. The house is comfortable and as per the photos - three bedrooms, large living area and two bathrooms (which was handy).
Kitchen has extensive spice rack and Italian coffee pot as well as a drip coffee, so catering at home is a great option. Hot tub is an added bonus - allow a couple of hours to fill it up and then sit back and enjoy the sounds of the birds.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed hanging out and sitting in the hot tub in the evening, watching the stars come out! Sunsets we gorgeous! Please contact Greg via email for a personal message! Thank you!!
Amazing views and lovely homely feel to the cabin. Having the cabin at 25* was also a welcome treat after the cold weather!
Ideal veranda for watching the Aurora out of the wind!
Well equipped and supplied with linen and towels.
Only improvement would be that the blinds are replaced as very difficult to put away in the day - had to spend a while persuading them to draw back up.
Thank you a real treat of a place to stay.
My husband and I visited Iceland for New Years 8 years ago and knew we would be back to experience it again during the summer . Fast forward to a magical trip with our two young daughters . The house was a wonderful location to explore and easy access to the town for groceries . The views were breathtaking any time of day . My daughters were sure they saw the little trolls behind the house . We will have many memories for a lifetime . We hope to be back again !

This cottage is well placed for exploring the west of Iceland, with Snaefellsness Penisula, Reykjavik and the golden circle route all within easy driving distance. Shopping and cafes can be found in Borgarnes, about 10 minutes drive away. It also provides a good view to the north and west in the event of Northern Lights.
The cottage is well appointed, although it's worth noting the stairs are quite steep which may pose a problem for some.
The only two drawbacks of the cottage 1) the double bed would benefit from thicker mattress toppper as it is made up from two single beds and 2) the final approach up a narrow gravel track means a 4x4 vehicle would be beneficial, especially in ice or snow.
The property has such a cosy feel to it, that we instantly felt relaxed and at home. We arrived at the end of a unseasonably late cold spell, with the garden stream still frozen solid, but the house was utterly warm and comfortable. The views across the frozen estuary were captivating, and the steep mountains a way to the rear also made for a really interesting setting in which to start the holiday. We had one query (about securing the tub) during our stay, and the owner was extremely responsive in helping us figure something out.
Views are incredible and the online photos do not do it justice. This was my fourth trip to Iceland and this was my favorite of all of the VRBO homes we have stayed in. The location was close to town and had all the necessities. A beautiful starting point to venture out to the Snæfellsness Penninsula. The home was perfect, I love the interior door separating the geothermal heating area as I always get very overheated staying in Iceland because most homes interior temps are very high. This door kept the home closer to the temps I am used to in the US. I wish I would have stayed longer but hope to bring my kids to this home some time soon.
This is a beautifully situated vacation rental. It has spectacular views, is less than 10 minutes drive to groceries and bakery in Borgarnes, and a good place from which to explore the Snaefellnes Peninsula and the Reykholt Valley. We were fortunate to have amazing Northern lights 2 nights of our 3 night stay. We enjoyed the hot tub and visiting the Krauma spa in the Reykholt Valley. The house is older but well built and stays nice and warm. A few things were a bit quirky - the bathroom does not have an electrical socket for the hair dryer or other appliances (there is one just outside the door). All bedrooms are up a somewhat steep flight of stairs, this could be a challenge for those with mobility problems. The half bath upstairs is a saving grace. We had planned to be 4 adults but our friends could not make it - it would be a bit snug though doable with 4 if you get along well - would not recommend more than 4 adults. If we are back in this part of Iceland would definitely look to stay here again.
We stayed in this house for a week in February to have the chance to see the northern lights and get to know Iceland. Unfortunately it didn't work out with the northern lights, so it was all the nicer to spend time in this beautiful house with our friends. It is beautifully situated, has enough space for more than 6 people, is very well equipped and the distance to the next larger town for shopping and eating out is not too far. Our host Karl always endeavoured to keep in touch with us and was always very friendly and kind to us.
From all of us a very clear recommendation for this house and its host!
Thank you and gladly again at any time!

We had a wonderful 2-day stay at this gorgeous and comfortable cabin. What a fantastic location - beautiful scenery located on the Borgarfjord and just minutes from town of Borgarnes for groceries and supplies. Great location to embark on day trips to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula or just east towards Husafell and Vidgelmir cave. The home was fully stocked with spices and everything needed to do some home cooking in the kitchen. And the hot tub at night was fabulous! Very comfortable beds, quiet, peaceful and cozy!!
Perfect location to enjoy the quiet side of Iceland. The cabin was extremely comfortable, clean, and filled with charming decor. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment and basic staple ingredients. Karl was a fantastic host, responded quickly to questions, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. If you're looking for an escape from the metropolitan experience of Reykjavik and want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Icelandic countryside in comfort, I highly recommend this location.
This was our third trip to Iceland but our first time staying at this cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and dishes and the place was well maintained. The view is stunning! I would recommend this as a good home base for exploring the west side. Thanks to our hosts for accommodating our last minute request as well.
Such a lovely property. Warm, cosy, well equipped with fabulous views. The sunset panarama was amazing to witness.
The property is well situated for exploring the peninsula and Golden Circle sights.
We really enjoyed our stay in Borgarnes! It was the beginning of our Iceland journey. The house was only 45 min drive from Reykjavik. We explored Hraunfossar waterfall, which was one of our favorites in Iceland only 45 minutes East of the house. The drive takes you past local farms, just beautiful. Also not far from Snaefellsnes Penninsula….. we went there 2 days (less than an hour drive from the house).
