Fox Den: a cozy cabin up north
Perched along the shores of picturesque Sawyer Lake, the Fox Den offers broad views of fishing, and water sports friendly waters. A nature lover’s delight, unique birds frequent the property as do the loons and eagles on the water. Evening campfires offer broad, clear views of the Milky Way stretching directly overhead.
This quaint property offers use of an on-site boat dock that can accommodate pontoons, fishing, and ski boats. Boats can be launched from the nearby county park from a reliable ramp and dock. Sawyer Lake is known for excellent fishing and has no horsepower or speed restrictions.
In colder seasons, the cabin has both a traditional furnace and an inviting wood stove in the living room which makes for a comfortable evening indoors after a day of ice fishing.

This is a great property! I stayed with two friends and our pups for a long Thanksgiving/birthday weekend, and we had a lovely time. The house is really well-maintained and well-stocked, and we were super comfortable. The wood-burning stove made it very cozy during the cold, snowy weather, and the property was nice and quiet, even with neighbors nearby. The host was very communicative, and they even left a little handwritten welcome card and a couple of coffee mugs for us as gifts. Would recommend!

Our family of 4 traveled from NC to the UP of Michigan for a change of pace after the Christmas holiday celebrations.Excellent communication from the owners, the house was perfect and well kept. Our favorite spot was the cozy family room with great couches, a fire place and amazing views of the frozen lake.I would highly recommend this rental if traveling to this part of Michigan.

Everything you want from the UP; nothing you don't.Elegant, modern, bright, breathtaking interior design complements an extraordinary lake view in the peak of winter, with minimal noise from vehicles on/around the lake or the surrounding roadways.The living room fireplace is sleek and worry-free to start and keep going...even if you're a nervous solo traveler like me. The sauna fireplace is more rugged, and both are definitely worth enjoying, especially mid-blizzard.Professionally equipped kitchen guarantees you will eat as well as you sleep. The skillets are seasoned, people. Keep up.Hosts are warm, responsive, and funny - following their tips for the stay truly made it feel like a no-maintenance home.Did I mention the washer and dryer is one machine? On, rotate to washdry, start. The future is now.Treat yourself to the fox den.
