Great house with charming character! Clean and cozy with a perfect location for access to local venues and sites. It was the perfect location for our family wedding. Jane was a thoughtful and attentive host who made our stay easier. Lovely spot!
The host was lovely. The cottage was so cute and well set up, the rooms were not cramped. The cottage was walkable to the beach and downtown restaurants and shops. The neighborhood felt safe. Parking was ample off street. We really enjoyed our stay.
This quaint property was perfect for our winery visits. Great location near the ferry to get to the other side of the island. Also very nicely furnished and appointed rooms. Host was wonderful and very accommodating for our stay. Walking distance to Greenport restaurants and shopping. Really relaxing stay because of the host and property. Great place!
Very walkable to town and easy to access the waterfront, restaurants, and shops. Perfect location for exploring Greenport and the nearby wineries. Jane was a very accommodating host.
Charming house, plenty of room, great host, comfortable beds, good air conditioning. Terrific neighborhood, easy walk to town. Only negative was the traffic noise from Front Street (but ear plugs were provided).
The Captain’s House was absolutely perfect for our multi-generation late-summer family vacation, with plenty of room for everyone. Jane could not have been a more gracious and welcoming host, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including a high chair and travel crib, and providing great information and suggestions for visiting the North Fork. The house is comfortable and charming, with everything you could possibly want, including an outstanding collection of toys!! We could walk to town for coffee at Aldo’s and a carousel ride for the kids or to dinner. We could even walk to a nice little beach near the ferry. There was more exploring to do and we wished we had more time. But we will be back!Thank you, Jane!
This house was perfect for our weekend getaway from Jersey City! It’s so close to town and all the restaurants as well as the ferry to shelter island. Jane was always available and easy to communicate with! Highly recommend this place to stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Cottage! Jane was wonderful to work with- knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. We had delicious cookies waiting for us when else arrived, which was a lovely touch. Location is perfect- short walk to the ferry and downtown. Would absolutely stay again!
We had a party of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) and it was the perfect size for us. It was clean and comfortable with a short walk to Greenport and the ferry to go to Shelter Island. We loved having breakfast in the sunroom each morning. Jane was very attentive making it a wonderful and relaxing stay!
Great location, very clean, comfortable accommodations. It was a pleasure communicating with Jane. We enjoyed our meals around the dining table, sitting on the front porch and playing scrabble.
We recently stayed at the restored cottage that used to be the National Scrabble Headquarters. It was a wonderful experience. The host created a warm, comfortable atmosphere in this charming cottage. It was clean, had great amenities and our grandchildren loved the game room. Everything about the house was interesting, comfortable and fun. Also, the house was very well located. It was an easy walk to every place we wanted to visit in town.
We had a lovely stay at Captain’s cottage over the July 4th weekend. The cottage is in the perfect location in walking distance to shops and restaurants in Greenport and a short drive to wineries and beaches. It was the perfect home base for our family weekend with my husband, our teenagers and grandma. The stairs are steep as is normal for this type of home but my mother was fine on them but could be a consideration for others. The cottage has everything needed and lovely antiques in every room. We had fun playing scrabble in the evenings in the game room. And enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the screened porch in the back. Although on the main road in town, we slept very soundly. It was an hot weekend and the AC worked really well throughout the house. Our hosts were lovely and check in and check out were very easy. I would highly recommend and hope to return again in the future!
Very cozy, clean house with plenty of places to relax. The house is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the beach and the ferry. Our host Jane was wonderful. She was in contact with us before our trip, met us at the house when we arrived and answered all our questions.
