Sombrero Beach Home - Heated Pool, Kayaks, Private Road

Renovated 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home just a block to beautiful Sombrero Beach in Marathon – a rare soft sand beach in the Keys.

Enjoy our heated pool and hang around on the pool deck with cocktails; have meals outside around our outdoor dining table. Fall asleep in our hammock (you won't be the first) and luxuriate in our outdoor shower daytime or under the stars.

We are on a canal that opens right onto the Atlantic. Please note: There is no docking for boats at our home.

A full wall of glass sliders brings the beauty of the outdoors into the living room. The living room is outfitted with a 50' flat screen HDTV and Roku for streaming.

Three comfortable bedrooms: A king with ensuite bathroom and large walk-in shower, a queen with ensuite bathroom with tub, and a bedroom with two XL twins.

Pool deck is outfitted with chaise lounges, a gas grill and outdoor dining. Kayak the clear waters – there are 2 kayaks for your use.

The house is beautifully updated. The cook's kitchen opens to the living and dining room; the breakfast bar looks out to the canal.

The house is all on one level living -- good for all ages. You will find beach chairs, sand toys, pool floaties and some fishing gear. Walk to Sombrero Beach just around the corner – you don't have to pay for parking!

The house comes with starter items: one roll of toilet paper and one liquid hand soap per bathroom, a kitchen trash bag and a paper towel for the kitchen. It is expected that you will resupply whatever items you need during your stay.

Location location location! Walk to Sombrero, quick drive to Publix that you can get to and from without even hitting the “main road”. Many restaurants and activities nearby for the family.House worked perfectly for me and my husband, and our son with his wife and 3 young children. The bedrooms and bathrooms made for a comfortable stay. The living area of the house was also nice and roomy for the grandchildren (5, 3 & 1) to play while still accommodating the adults.The kitchen and laundry were well equipped and there was also lots of room to eat outside.The only bad news was it was already booked for the week we would have wanted in 2027.

We have taken some wonderful family vacations during our 37 years together and this might’ve been the best one yet! We were lucky to have our two youngest sons, 18 & 19 on spring break at the same time. We flew into KW after a few delays so we checked in after dark. We immediately took advantage of the heated pool. It was so refreshing after traveling all day. The three bedroom house is in immaculate condition. The host has thought of everything to make this a wonderful experience. The house was immaculately cleaned. The large open floor plan looks out to a beautiful pool, and a private canal. There’s an ocean view from the house and the dock. There is everything you need including kitchen appliances, utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses, blenders coffee makers and they are all in great condition. There’s a game cabinet with so many fun games. We played Sorry, Uno, and Chess every evening by the poolside. There’s a gas grill, dining table, chairs, chaises and umbrellas on the pool deck. The house is less than 5 minute easy walk to a beautiful Sombrero Beach. I highly recommend!

Great stay with family in a relaxing quiet location. Property was comfortable, loved the pool backdeck and family room. Host provided good checkin details and guestbook had some great restaurant suggestions. Fun to kickback in the huge hammock and watch the pelicans , osprey and other wildlife.

This is an amazing house that my family was really happy with. We enjoyed the local beaches and restaurants along with the proximity to great State Parks and Key West. The photos of the house are great but it’s better in person.

Fantastic location and beautiful, well appointed property

The property was in a fantastic location, private and quiet, yet close to the beach and stores/restaurants. The house had almost everything you could ask for. It was so relaxing to sit on the dock and watch the pelicans dive for fish, have coffee by the pool, fish off the dock, kayak to the mangroves, etc. We tried to book again for next year but it was already booked! Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect Family Vacation

We had a fantastic time celebrating my daughter's birthday as well as my grandson's first vacation in the Keys. The house was perfect for us and we loved spending time in the pool. We really liked that the house had plenty of towels, beach towels, pool floats, beach chairs, fishing poles, etc. Location was also great, close to the turtle hospital, Aquarium Encounters, Dolphin Research Center and restaurants. Great quiet road with little to no traffic. We would definitely stay here again.

This is by far the nicest house we have ever rented. Everything was new and in good working order. The house was spotless and even the grill was clean. The pool was surprisingly heated allowing us to use it on the cooler days. We will definitely be renting this house again next year.

Perfect house for a family keys vacation

Simply can't beat the location of this home. Short walk/drive to the beach, Publix, and just about anywhere you want to explore in the keys. We went to Bahia Honda State Park and Key West a few times during our stay. My kids LOVED swimming in the pool and playing board games in the living room. The breakfast bar was my favorite spot to drink coffee in the morning. The kitchen had everything you could want in a vacation home. We looked for the land crabs, iguanas, lizards, hermit crabs and anything else we could find during our stay. Just the perfect home for a relaxing trip in the beautiful Florida Keys. Will definitely love to stay here again on a future visit.

The property is not new. It is wonderfully situated near Sombrero Beach and we were there for the July 4th parade and fireworks. The fireworks were SPECTACULAR! Very fun to be there on July 4 week. Definitely would do it all again. No ants/pests, etc. Clean overall for sure. Door locks could use some more info in the house book Esp how to get out of the house without setting off the door alarm.

Fantastic house and location.

We stayed here as a group of 6 adults. There was more than enough room for all of us to hang out inside and outside. There are 2.5 baths so one of the couples had to use our bathroom to shower every day. It wasn’t a big deal for us but something to consider. The pool was great- a little cold for December but I believe you can pay extra for it to be heated. The door battery was dead upon our arrival so we couldn’t get in after a long day of travel. I called the property manager and she was there within 5 minutes to let us in. Wow! Later we also discovered the hot water in the house wasn’t working. Someone came by to fix that right away too. Wonderful service! We were able to catch some fish off the dock and we left a couple more fishing poles and tackle in the pool house for future guests. There are also several pool floats and enough towels for all six of us for showers and swimming. The house is at the end of a quiet canal so you really do feel like you’re completely alone out there. I could go on and on about everything we loved about the house but the location, cleanliness and privacy say it all!

The Perfect Keys Home

The house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac adjacent to beautiful Sombrero Beach. It is a classic Keys home on "ground level" and has recently been totally updated inside with a gorgeous, open plan layout featuring a full wall of sliders to the largest, nicest private pool anywhere. It is canal-front and the canal puts you in the ocean off the beach in less than 1,000 feet. Two great kayaks come.with the home as well as a SUP and they are easy to launch and beach. The owner is wonderful and attentive to any issues. One of the kayaks was found to have a significant leak, and it was replaced the same day as we had reported it. The house is spacious, well equipped, the beds are heavenly and the bathrooms are modern and beautiful. The wi-fi is excellent and the TV has a number of streaming services sunscribed and available for guests to enjoy. You will love sitting on the patio under the large umbrellas, sippimg your libations as the sun sets in the view down the canal, and you will relax forever in the large, heated pool. We observed many varieties of birds flying around the canal and landing in the trees from doves to cranes to egrets to pelicans and even a hawk. Fish swim in the canal and jump up frequently. We even had a pair of catbirds take up nesting in the bush near the post that supports the hammock. It is a very nice, natural setting with lots of privacy and quiet. It is a short walk to the beach, and there's a bike trail along Sombrero Beach Rd to get to nearby stores

outside space a little dissapointing

The inside of the house is completely renovated beautifully with updated kitchen and baths. it was very clean when we arrived. We found the beds/mattresses to be a little high and for some of the guests difficult to climb up on but the beds/mattresses were comfortable. Maybe some step stools beside the beds could rectify this? The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/pans etc.. Although we really didn't do any cooking. We could not get the blender to work. it seemed like it was pretty old. The couch is VERY worn and really needs to be replaced. The main issue we had with the house was the outdoor space. The pool was very clean and refreshing but the area around it was dirty and moldy. There were moldy/broken pool toys and floats left strayed around the deck and both hoses were left unwound and haphazardly laying on the deck which could be a tripping hazard. There were several pots of dead plants all around the deck and the deck itself needs to be cleaned and painted in many spots. There were also a lot of dead/dying branches on the palm trees hanging over the eating/grilling area of the deck. The kayaks were left out turned up so they were filled with rain water and we had to empty them and dry/clean them out before we could use them. When we left we turned them over as requested by the owner. overall we enjoyed the property just wish the deck area was better maintained.

Great Location

I would like to start out with the positives about this property. The location was fantastic. It was very close to shopping, eating etc. There are many things to do in Marathon, FL. One of the best features of this property was proximity to Sombrero Beach. You can take a short walk - 5 minutes or kayak - with the provided kayaks. The beach and park are excellent and very family friendly as well as very clean. This house has a pool which was a great asset and provides fun while at home. Lots of wildlife can be seen outside - pelicans, iguanas and fish in the canal. There is a warning sign at a nearby property closer to the beach about crocodiles in the area! But we never saw any. It is a very relaxing atmosphere at this house. Now the negatives. Upon arriving at the location we found quite a bit of left over construction materials as well as trash littering the yard. Our first project was to clean up the yard a bit - we picked up some trash and tried to better organize the left over construction materials. Not a big deal but we did what we could to make the appearance a little better. Being a homeowner it is second nature for me to keep a decent looking yard and property. A couple of days into our stay we discovered a little brown lizard in the house! We were able to capture it with the pool net and release it back outside. Little did we know there would be two more brown lizards that got into the house. These lizards are all over in Florida and they do not hurt people. In fact, they run away from people. But the thought of a lizard crawling on you or jumping on you while sleeping was enough to cause some excitement from the members of the family as you can imagine! We eventually found the sliding door to the patio was not closed properly allowing those lizards in the house - at least that is our theory. We contacted the homeowner and she confirmed some recent work to the sliding door and cement was done and believes the door was not closed properly after the work was done. We were able to seal up the sliding door and did not have any further problems. Another negative was the bathroom floors did not seem to be as clean as they could have been - especially around the back sides of the toilets. Very dusty in fact. Overall, I give the property a 3 star, due to the minor problems we had. The homeowner may want to revisit the cleanliness issue with the property manager or house cleaner. I think there is some room for improvement.

Great location and great place!

Had a great time at 39 Treasure. The location and amenities were as good as if not better than expected. With the pool, kayaks, and walking path it was the perfect setting. The kitchen was stocked with everything (cookware) we needed to grill our fresh catch and cook in several nights. Proximity to grocery store and restaurants was excellent. Only regret is not being able to see the fireworks at Sombrero Beach (our booking ended before Independence Day). Also, the owner was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating.

Perfection in Island Time

In our three weeks here on Treasure Road, we found nothing but perfection in this beautiful home. You can't be in a better location, a Mike from the noisy busy Overseas Hwy, a 5 minute walk to Sombrero Beach, the best beach and park in the Keys, quiet, residential neighborhood with renters and year-round people, young and old. Bike Trail on Sombrero Beach Road to several neighborhoods for riding, and the bike trail on the Overseas Hwy. Publix, Walgreens and other stores within a mile. Being in the middle of Marathon, great restaurants are in both directions - nearby. The house is modern, renovated, comfortable and bery well equipped. The pool is huge and heated to 82° with a surrounding patio with lounges table and chairs under an umbrella, and grill. We enjoyed beraakfast, lunch and dinner poolside with a view of the canal and the ocean behind. Yes, the canal provides direct quick access to the ocean, the beach and the river for kayakers. We went all the way to Boot Key Harbor for lunch at The Dockside. Two kayaks are provided and launching is easy and safe. We can't imagine staying anywhere else after our wonderful stay this spring.

Sombrero beach is one of the best kept secrets in the Keys. From our house, you can walk, drive, kayak or swim there -- we're that close! The back of the house looks across to mangroves -- it's a very restful, natural environment. The large kitchen and open layout of the living room and dining room makes it very enjoyable to hang around in the house with friends and family.
