This was the cleanest, most well-stocked condo we’ve ever stayed in during our trips to Hawaii, right across the street from excellent snorkeling at Kahalu’u Beach Park! The unit is well maintained and has a lot of insulation, so we didn’t have to rely on the A/C to stay cool as much as some other places. The kitchen had everything - there was even a French press and filtered water in the fridge.Gorgeous lanai with comfortable chairs, and the master bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. It’s a quieter complex than some. Property manager and owner are friendly and easy to communicate with. I hope to stay here again!

The condo was perfect for our family of four. You will definitely need to rent a car as the location isn’t very walkable. Parking was free and easy.

Wonderful Vacation Rental

James provided a warm welcome, loads of suggestions for day trips and there was everything you might want in the condo. The view from the lanai was wonderful, lived having our breakfast and dinners there. Access to the beach and snorkeling was great! Thanks for a greatgreat vacation!

Awesome location and view

Condo was well stocked with kitchen and beach needs. Layout was great for 2 couples. Location next to snorkelling beach was perfect. Lanai had comfortable furniture. Would definitely book this place again.

Great Location Great Property

We stayed 7 nights at this great property. The condo was very well situated to walk across the road and enjoy world class snorkeling. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything that we could want. Having snorkeling gear here was a bonus so we didnt have to pack our own. They had beach towels, chairs, and coolers available in the condo for you to enjoy your day at the beach. We will definitely rent here again!

Great place!

Great location! Close to places to eat and great beaches! The view was spectacular! There were some ants but nothing a few ant traps couldnt take care of. The James was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Provided alot of beach stuff! L We loved our stay!

Great location, family orientated

The condo was absolutely beautiful and had all the things we needed to enjoy our stay on the island with our teenagers. Some of the knives were not super clean, probably from previous guests. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic.

Great place & location

This place was a real treat: great view from the lanai to accompany meals; nice spacious accomodation. Little things like having boogie boards to use, the pool is actually really nice, with it's own view, and on top of all that, a fantastic location across the street from one of the best snorkeling and beginning surf spots on the island. It's away from the bustle of Kailua town, but only a 10-15 min drive there. There is a shopping center about 6 min drive that'll have whatever you need. Really enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again for sure.

Kahaluu Penthouse

Our stay in the penthouse was amazing, great location to a lot of different sights and activities but still nice and quiet. Snorkeling in the bay across the street was fantastic and easy for the novice. So many fish and turtles! We would definitely stay there again. The only issue for our entire stay was the dishwasher was left with dishes that didn’t get washed properly in it and smelled a little. Easily correctable. Loved it and made a great home base for our vacation

Perfect location and setup

My family and I stayed at this AMAZING property for 8 nights in April for Spring Break. The property has a nice layout, lots of amenities (washer/dryer, beach chairs came in handy), quiet private pool, and is only a two minute walk to an excellent snorkeling beach. The property manager was proactive in his communication and made the stay seamless. Thank you so much! We’ll be back again in the future :-).

Wonderful—a great rental!

You can’t go wrong renting this unit. We’ve stayed in several vrbo’s on the islands and definitely recommend it. The lanai (and lovely view) was our favorite! We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and the beach gear. It was nice to not have to rent boogie boards and an umbrella. The complex is small and quiet, with a great pool. Britt was helpful when we needed an extra fan. Overall, a wonderful vacation on the BI.

Well appointed condo

This condo was clean, very well stocked and in a good location. There’s a grocery store and pharmacy & restaurants less than a half mile away. Snorkeling across the street was great and a short trip to 2 step to snorkel and downtown Kona to shop. My only cons about this property would be the picture in the listing shows a building facing the pool and a slightly more ocean front experience that what it actually is. You can see the beach from the balcony and can watch sunsets from there. Also we had a Hawaiian centipede and some roach looking bug in the kitchen. This must be a known issue because we found a can of raid under the sink. Lastly, the washing machine has a big sign saying possible flooding and to be careful using it. I didn’t use it much because that was something I didn’t want to deal with on vacation. Overall we were mostly happy with our stay.

Return to Kona

I brought my family to Kona as it had been greater than 20 years since my last visit. What a spectacular location--the lanai has the perfect view of the gorgeous turquoise waters of Kahaluu Beach park and the stellar sunsets. Almost all of our time (when not sleeping or away from the condo) was spent on the lanai. The property also has good views of the green hillside. Kahaluu was the perfect place for my kids to learn to snorkel, and was our second favorite snorkeling spot on the island after Two Step. The AC in the unit was also was appreciated, especially after staying in a house w/o AC at Hilo the week before. The pool was awesome--the infiinity/horizon pool view was great looking over Kahaluu--a perfect place to chill with a margarita. The kids had a blast in the pool as well, and we all enjoyed the hot tub during a rain shower...which by the way was nice and hot. I also enjoyed the grill and cooked out by the pool one evening. Of course the unit is close to all of the restaurants on the main Kona strip, and also a few miles a way from grocery stores/Walmart etc for stocking up. Parking was no problem and never had to fight for spaces and the elevator helped with our many suitcases. The only negative I'd note is that the master bedroom pillows are due for an upgrade and one night we had some cigarette smoke blow by the lanai from a neighbor's unit. Lastly, I want to thank the owner for being ultra-responsive and attentive to our occasional special requests!!

Awesome condo

We loved this place. Very good layout for a family, with a snorkeling beach JUST across the street. Such a great location. Everything worked, everything was clean, the kitchen was actually well-stocked (they all say that, but you never really know…). And as a bonus- beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas, etc. All the stuff you want but you can’t bring it on the plane. Just a nice place to stay while touring the big island.

This condo is as advertised, if not nicer in person. Great space for two couples to share but have privacy too. Deck views and pool were so nice. On site parking, near local shopping plaza and across from a snorkelling bay. Wonderful stay.

Very nice condo at a great location

We have really enjoyed our stay. The condo is so well equipped with everything, one of the best snorcheling spot is just across the road and shopping centre with a great sports bar 3 minutes by car. What else you need for a perfect vacations?

We are a happy family of four--myself (Hee), husband James, son Ryan, and daughter Hana. I grew up in Oahu and have always loved the Hawaiian lifestyle. So I had mixed emotions upon graduating from the University of Hawaii to head to the mainland for work. But that's where I met my wonderful husband James. James is the breadwinner for our family but his true passion is photography and Hawaii has always been his favorite place to photograph. The beautiful beaches, tropical palm trees, breathtaking sunsets, and happy people in paradise always make for wonderful photos. Our two kids, Ryan and Hana will be raised with lots of Aloha the Hawaiian way.

Why they chose this property

We both love traveling and have taken many trips across the globe. But if you ask us where we would want to retire, Hawaii would be the first words out of us. When we stayed at this complex in 2013 while vacationing on Big Island, we instantly fell in love and knew we had to become owners one day. This modern unit (built 2007) is among the newest you'll find on Alii Drive and together with the gorgeous infinity pool, the open air lanai, and easy access to Kahaluu Beach make for an unforgettable Hawaiian vacation!

There's so much benefits offered by this unit and location! The outdoor lanai offers splendid views of Kahuluu Beach and amazing sunsets every single day! It's also the perfect place to have coffee/breakfast as you get ready to snorkel Kona's best snorkeling spot. The location can't be beat--there is no complex with better access to Kahuluu Beach...all you have to do is walk across the street!
